  1. I am very sorry to hear this. Being there myself and knowing others who have been there I know there are a lot of prayers being set to him and his family. I pray for a full and speedy recovery.
  2. http://www.allamericanpatriots.com/files/images/maine-lighthouse-sunrise.jpgHere is a picture of a beautiful sunset along the Maine coast. My Virtual Ride is very relaxing. The good thing about it is I can really see in my mind (with the help of the puter) what I am missing and hope to see someday. If people keep this post going and hopefully include some pictures it will give us all some ideas on where to ride in the future.
  3. I always heard X marks the spot. It should be real nice. Send some pictures of what you hope to see on your Virtual Trip.
  4. I wish I could but I have some business in Girard, Ga. Some friends and I have to take the truck over (bummer) and I'm not sure about Sunday. If the weather is nice I'm up for a ride on Sunday. Harry
  5. Hey Stew We are leaving July 16 and hope to be back in Atlanta Aug.13, 14 or something like that. We have a overnight ride to Helen on the 15th. I'll give you a call after work tomorrow. Harry
  6. Man if I only had the time. We're leaving Atl., Ga and heading up to SD then over to WA with some zig zagging up and down through Wy, Mt, Wy, Mt, Ia, then WA. Then we're heading south down to San Fransico. Then some more zig zagging to hit a lot of sites in Ca, Hoover Dam, the over to AZ, Ut, Az, Ut, Co then 1,550 miles home. It ain't the 4 corners but boy at the sights we are a going to see. We are spending 3 nights in Billings for STAR Days. This is not a Virtual trip this is an actual trip and we are leaving July 16. Anyone want to ride along just let me know.
  7. http://www.freefoto.com/images/1214/01/1214_01_9---Portland-Head-Lighthouse--Maine_web.jpg?&k=Portland+Head+Lighthouse%2C+MaineWell here is a picture of one of the stops near the turn around point. This is in Maine. Can you smell the fresh sea air? Nice breeze also. High for the day will be about 80. I hate to leave but I have a lot more to see.
  8. Here is a picture of the Virtual Ride Patch. A real beauty ain't it?
  9. That looks like the Yamaha accessory rear spoiler. I've seen them on several Ventures. They look good but the ones I've seen don't light up worth a crap. If you are getting them for the looks and don't care about the lights then thats one thing but if you are getting them for more rear light there are a lot better lights out there and a lot cheaper. My:2cents:
  10. I hope so. I've topped off my tank and ready to go. I just ordered my sheepskin to fight off the saddle sores, I've loaded the Virtual saddlebags, and kicked the virtual tires.
  11. Let us know where you go on your Virtual Ride. I be Canada has some gorgeous country.
  12. Oh well I thought this would be a entertaining way to raise some money to help the one person that brought us all together, well I guess I was wrong. Well I'm still on my Virtual Ride up the east coast to Maine and would like some suggestions on what to see. I will be making this trip in the future and would like to know what to see. What is that old saying? Best laid plans of mice and men...
  13. Heading there this summer also, Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Bryce and Zion Canyons, Arches and Canyonland and that's just Utah. Colorado next.
  14. I never have either but I will this summer!
  15. Well that's a real trip for me this summer. Starting in Atlanta, GA and going to the west coast and back. So I guess my Virtual Ride will be to New England States.
  16. Virtual Ride to Benefit FreeBird. When I tried to think of a way to help the man that has done so much for so many people I thought of a Benefit Ride with T-shirts and police escorts and a registration fee. I then realized this is no ordinary person. He has reached people all over the world. He has spent countless hours building this website so that we could answer each others questions. He did it at his own expense. I realized that it was not feasible to get everyone that FreeBird has touched together. The money would go to pay the police for the escort and the T-shirt manufacturers would make all the money and everyone would have a t-shirt and FreeBird would get what was left over. I have made a lot of friends and have ridden with a lot of people I would have never met if it were not for FreeBird. I have gotten a lot of help from a lot of people I have never met and I owe it all to FreeBird. I only became a member last October but I feel I know so many of you personally and I have never met a stranger here on VentureRider's and I owe it to FreeBird. Now it is my turn to show my friendship to a man I have never met. The best way I can think of is to have a Virtual Ride to Benefit FreeBird. You do not need to meet anywhere, your do not need to meet as a specific time, you don't even have to get up early to participate. You don't have to donate any time. All you have to do is sit back in you easy chair and think of a place you would like to ride. Now I know many of you have paid your $12.00 yearly dues and so have I. I know many of you have made a donation to FreeBird and so have I. This is going to be a long, tough struggle for FreeBird and like he said it will probably distroy him finacially. I for one can not sit around and watch this happen to the man that brought us all together so I am paying my entry fee of $50 (donation button). Anyone who would like to join me is welcome to do so. Please join me for my Virtual Ride. Harry
  17. It shows!
  18. If at first you don't succeed, let everyone have a good laugh, and try, try again.
  19. Very, very, nice, Thank you.
  20. I'm going to try it again so just over look the fact that the pictures may already be posted. But if the pictures don't show up again I don't have a clue. All I can say is don't ask me to post your pictures for you. I have tested on my computer and they are showing up again.
  21. That's strange because after I submitted them I went back and brought up the post again and they were there. Now this morning I opened the post and they are still there they just look different because Eck edited them so they would not be so big or be in the proper format or something but his post was directly under mine so I don't know what happened. I see Eck replied again about the pictures so see if they're there now. I can still see them. Eck must have been able to see them because he edited them.
  22. Here are DaveCB's tail lights. He did a great job. You definitely don't have any trouble seeing him stop. Great job. Yama duck, hope you don't mind, but I edited your post to add the photos that Dave sent . Eck
  23. You're very welcome. I'm glad I could help and the warmer weather is just around the corner.
  24. I have the one off ebay. They have two designs. One says Venture and Royal Star the other just says Royal Star. 1) It is not polished aluminum, it is polished stainless steel. Mine has a beautiful shine. 2) I don't really believe they are clearance items. I think they say that so that they can say no refunds, just my there it's just they have been selling them on ebay for the same price for a long, long time. 3) they are flat, they have no sides but they do have 3 bent flanges for mounting. 4) they have no screen to stop rocks but do provide a little protection but if you are buying it to protect your radiator then don't by the Wagner. If you are buying it for the looks then yes I would consider it. It is laser cut polished stainless steel and very flemsey but does get stable when mounted. The other one which is probably cold roled steel stamped out and chrome plated I have no knowledge of. If it has flanges all the way around it it would be more sturdy but then again the steel would not be as strong as the stainless and if the chrome started to flake oe it got scratched then somewhere down the line it would start rusting. Also is it triple chrome plated or just one coat of chrome. Makes a difference. It is the lease expensive so that is a plus and you can return it if you don't like it when it arrives. If I had it to do over again I would have bought the Wagner. When I purchased mine the Wagner only came in black and primer and maybe white. Now he has a color to match my bike. I like mine but I like the wagner better where your just the opposite you like the shiny ones better. Hope this helped. Harry:thumbsup2:
  25. Hey Eck, I just checked with a friend who has an 05 GW and a 08 GW. And he said that as far as he knows the 02 GW only had two problems, 1) you have already taken care of with the FULL Traxxion upgrade which he says is the top of the line upgrade and 2) the cracked welds. He said that some of the 02 GW's came out of the factory with cracked welds. I'm sure if you have not checked that out you will but just for your piece of mind that is all he knows of that was wrong with the 02 wing other than it doesn't look, sound, or ride like a RSV:rotfl:
