  1. Wayne, I will check spare parts tonight. I may have what you need. I will get you hooked up. Don't know if I have a pushbutton unit on handlebar. You will also need a light pod that goes over key switch, and its short interconnect cable. May have one of these, but not sure how good it is. I think pump has some different connections and is internally a little different. Wiring harness may need another wire or two. I have extra offficial cable connectors. I think I have an MKII controller also. Gary
  2. Hate to burst your bubble, but a 99 RSV is now 14 years old, starting to get a little long in the tooth ! ! ! Gary
  3. With some ingenuity and McGyvering, could a filter element be located in the structures above the carbs? Gary
  4. Where are the air cleaner filters at? Looks like they may be above carbs. Reason I ask is a set of VMax side scoops would look cool if I could use them as functional intakes & get them contoured to the RSV tank. Gary
  5. I have the service manual & parts fiche. Pictures are more intuitive than the sketches in the service manual. I am going off the reservation with this one, other than fenders, no body plastic. Solo seat. 1st gen 1300 VMax style drive train. Minimal instrumentation. Not sure where this all will lead to. Sort of like a blank canvas. It will be different for sure in the end. Gary
  6. I have some of the major components coming for a 2003 RSV. Frame, rear suspension, front end, handle bars & controls, foot controls, tank, fenders, seat etc. I am going to use these parts as basis for a hybrid 1st Gen/2nd Gen/VMax. Never having seen a disassembled RSV, it would be helpful if someone could get me as many pictures as available of an RSV in various stages of dis-assembly. This would greatly help on my winter (probably several) project. Gary
  7. There is not a locking tab on the TCI case. Just need to wiggle them out. Gary
  8. Here are a couple of pictures of the wiring harness side connector for a 4 pickup coil bike. Not sure what year these are from though, but I think they were 86~89 range. Gary
  9. Thread below has detailed wiring schematics in it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42384 I also attached a PDF of TCI specific wiring. Look at lower half of page for your bike, which is a 4 pickup coil system. Then at some point read this thread. It helps. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58880 Gary
  10. Ignitech should have sent you a harness with the TCI. I don't have a picture of one that had the stock sensor wired into it. What info are you looking for specifically? Gary
  11. Please post a video of this. Gary
  12. That is a harness set up to use the Ventures existing vacuum sensor. Ignitech started doing this when the V88 unit with IAP setting was released. Gary
  13. Almost feel bad for the newbie that was just trying to help. We haven't jumped on one this bad since the newbie that asked where dues went about 6 months ago !! Gary
  14. The VMax's always used the same carbs that are on an MKII with different jetting. Vmax's never had a block other than a 1200cc. You will see a minimal difference in the mains and one air jet. Venturi's went from 34mm to 35mm. Mains went from 117.5 to 125's in 1986. For comparison VMax's had up to 152.5 mains at one point. The carbs should be fine on a 1200. Gary
  15. Harbor Freight sells these pliers for way under $10. Think this is what Twigg was referring to. About 12" long. Gary
  16. I hit it, very cute. But I didn't see a 56 year old dancing? Gary
  17. It should not count if she won't put her age up there for us to see in birthday box, she may be getting 2 a year for all we know. Happy one Peggy, go ride your Moped tonight !! Gary
  18. http://www.shoraipower.com/ They are not inexpensive, and have reported cold weather low cranking power. If you are just looking to save a few pounds on a 750 pound bike, there have to be better options. I was interested in them due to the size, I ended up putting different coils on bike and mounting an AGM Deka battery on its side where the coils were. Wasn't worth the cost and new technology hi cups that were still being resolved. I needed extra room due to larger air intake box that went on bike. Gary

  20. Out of curiosity, why is there a shortage of helium???? Gary
  21. Almost clicked on report a post button. Actually did, but backed out of window. Surely there is an Ethiopian venture rider on the site that will not take kindly to this. Gary
  22. Joe, Just as a helpful hint, if you want to quote a post that was made, click on the "Quote' button in he right corner. It will copy the thread you are referring to and format it in your post, similar to what I did in this post. And I agree with you about degrading name calling, that is a little much. I am though, somewhat against the modern day practice of changing the way something is handled because a small minority object. Sometimes referred to as Political Correctness. Gary
  23. I can personally assure you if it gets to far over the edge, a moderator will discuss it with the offender. And what is the interpretation of 'well documented', could this be interpreted to go so far as to have a popup window when the reply button is clicked on to say, "Don't speak harsh words to your fellow bikers" My thought is we are all adults here, sometimes some of us poke fun at others, and the playfullness of this ribbing may not be apparent to others if they don't know the history of those involved. This site is kept far more civil than other sites. I would be content to keep the majority happy rather than keeping the one or two happy that may have read something into any given post and took offense to that. Gary
  24. What did I do this time ??? Gary
  25. It will work !! I made the one on mine out of a 3/4" board & some vinyl I got from an Amish boat cover guy. Some 2" foam padding. I sewed cover myself with heavy thread from Amish guy. Has worked fine for a several of years. Used a lower bracket from an HD road glide. Gary
