I got the WOLO mounted on the airdam, don't know who has the cheapest price, got mine online. Didn't matter though I only found a HF only three weeks ago, 45 mins away

I have a set of Frog Togs; couldn't tell you if they work, lent them out to someone and haven't seen them since:buttkick:. that was about a year ago! I hear they are real good.

It's been a long time since I went to MB and chances are I wouldn't go period unless maybe at the end or beginning of the season. Last I was there MB had already turned into a tourist trap with no redeeming value. Personally, if you want to go to the beach there are better places to do it. As I recall MB has placed severe restrictions on MC's after some of the bike show trouble which I believe includes parking and 'congregating' http://myrtlebeachbikerinfo.com/ordinances.html Here's the site for the bike week http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/events.html but they don't seem to know what to call it and when/where it is.en

No brake pressure at lever
barend replied to elmicko's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
ditto on the the zip tie and the banjo bolt (Thanks Earl!!, it worked) -
You didn't say whether it had to be open or enclosed (with ramp or side opening doors). Not that I am within 100 miles:confused24:

computer module
barend replied to barend's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I want to say output was like 3V, maybe Sam will confirm that since he's the one traced that out. You mean I have to take it all apart again?? I'll do some digging and see if I can find that reserve unit thingy and try that. Would it be too presumptuous to think that it is under/behind the headlight?? I do want/need to replace the fuse block at some point but the fuses do appear to be snug in there. I'll have to double check. -
Checked and they are tight, Thanks Eck. You guys settled in now? this will show my ignorance, but, since I haven't done anything with the forks, how can I have something missing inside the forks?? I'll check the other though. thanks!

In the last several days I've heard a click or klak when pulling away from a stop and when starting to decelerate. It is a single klak which seems more like a knock on hard plastic than metal on metal. It does seem to come from the front but not sure where. Any suggestions where to start looking?

Sam Almgren came over from Ga today to try and help me fix my dim highbeam. Thanks Sam!!. Alas we (he) had no luck! Actually Sam seems to think the computer module has a problem since I don't have 12 V going to the high beam. Anyone have one of them dar puppies laying around? In the absence of that, a Mk1 dash with 30K miles? After that, anyone interested in disecting the old one or trying to fix it (Dingy?)?

speed cable/self canceling signals
barend replied to barend's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hotdiggity!! That little booger was out of the hole, pushed it back in and tht did the trick, Thanks guys! :happy65: -
I have a motion sensor hooked into the alarm system on my trailer. It's turned off!! The idea was to have the alarm sound when someone walks into the back of the trailer when I'm working and though it works, it also sounds when you walk (or drive) past the trailer when you don't need it. You put something like that on your bike the thing would be going of every time you get passed or pass someone. If you are worried about getting rear ended, install a back up camera.

bottom line is: if she wants to ride with you, who are you to deny that? You tell her what to wear?? ..... I didn't buy my bike for my wife, she chose to try riding on the back of the bike when she was ready and likes it; I didn't buy my sidecar for her and whether she will ride in it is up in the air, and it don't make one hill of beans to me, if she does: Cool!!, if not: so what? she'll still ride with me. I kind of like her on the back too; extra eyes, pokes and headbuts included!

So I got my new speedo cable installed and started re-installing the panel , 'xcept one of the rubber bushing is gone:confused07:, it was there when I pulled it out though. Pulled the whole dash, removed the headlight, dug around through the wiring, looked on the floor, tried shaking the bike (yeah right!). Used a flashlight to see better. I have no clue:think::think: guess i'll see if i can get anew one at the parts store, bummer!

How Happy Are With Your Auto Cancelling Turn Signals
barend replied to YamaDude's topic in Watering Hole
signals are distance based, mine don't self cancel without the speedo cable and i hate it, I'd rather reset the signal than forget to turn the darn thing off. Besides if you pay attention you kind of know where to turn them on to have them stay on through the turn, or where/when you have to hit it again -

It's all good Earl, local shop should have me a new one here by Thursday for $26.00 (complete cable) I appreciate the offer though. In hindsight I wonder if last years "squeal fest" has something to do with it. that thing was going nuts and I suppose may have damaged the cable as well as the housing?
-
I suppose next you're going to tell me it's supposed to be more than 12 inches long?? Now to get the rest out and find a replacement, Thanks for the feedback
-
stopped to fill up and after that I had neither speedo nor odometer. No funky noises implying impending doom, it just quit. The connector on the wheel was not tight but that didn't help, and the cable housing is not falling down. Now I thought the odo was electronic, so what might have happened to crash both? Panel light are still working. If someone has a spare or a spare cable and is going to the Ga MD let me know. In case you didn't see it in my sign on, it's a '83 royale. Thanks.

While upgrading the lights onmy '83 I found two cracked bulb receptacles on the Ventureline lightbars. Can't get the bulbs to come on no matter what. since these things are riveted in place putting new ones in would be somewhat of a challenge. I know someone mentioned where to get the replacement lenses for these but I can't find it. Figure if they have the lenses they have the lights. Anyone?? On a aside, going to try and fix the lights in my chrome airdam. If I pour epoxie in the bottom and set new sockets in it, am i going to blow bulbs? i.e. does epoxie conduct electricity??

Battery low-electrolyte-level alarm
barend replied to Tony1M's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
FWIW The sensor only monitors the level in that particular cell (my opinion) which makes it essentially useless as an overall battery condition indicator -
not on a '83, like Rocket said, it's the cover that interferes. Take the trim pieces of on the side (the ones with the reflector and you can rotate the rad cover forward (top down) and then gently lift that sucker up to clear the pins. If you try to pull it straight out you'll brake the hanging tabs and it will be a tad harder to re-install. Have fun
