  1. Well, I brought the trunk into the house to take the pics and my wife informs me that she drained the batteries on or w/e bike trip to Okoboji. So, no pics tonight. The batteries are on the charger and will have to post the pics tomorrow evening. - sorry. New, the parts are around a grand. Since these are just the shell, how does $350 sound? If that's too high, I think I'll just hold on to them for a backup. Craigr
  2. BTW, if I didn't mention it before, mine is just the Trunk - Top and bottom. I had dropped my bike and it made a VERY small blemish on the left 'rail' of the lid. Along with the other damage to the bike, I insisted that the Insurance company repair this also. They chose to replace the entire trunk. - Go figure. If I hadn't had the other damage, I wouldv'e polished it wifth some good rubbing compound then waxed it and no one wouldv'e ever noticed itl. So, you would have to come up with the other hardware to make the trunk work on a RSTD. craigr craigr
  3. As I sent to a couple of private messages - It appears that several people are interested in the trunk. I will have to research the web tonight to see what a fair price is then post pics with the price. I guess the one willing to pay the highest price will get it. So you guys get together to get the price as low as you can I have a couple of other body parts to get rid of too, so will price them also. As I said earlier, I want a fair price for all.
  4. I got a couple of response that are interested in my trunk. I do want to sell it, but don't want to get ripped off. What are they going for / a fair price for both? It is in VERY good shape except for a very small scuff in one edge that you really have to look for to see. What is a fair price for a perfect one?
  5. Wow, no one on here!! I guess I am going to have to try to print some cards out and start passing them out. If I remember right, there is someone on this board from up in NW Iowa. I thought perhaps it might have been him.
  6. We just returned from a trip from Omaha to the Grotto of the Redemption in IA then up to Okoboji and back. Just shy of a 500 mile trip. Perfect weather!! we spotted two Ventures riding together in Okoboji. Were they anyone on here?
  7. I have a Blue / Black one that I am willing to part with. Are you interested?
  8. We are heading to the Grotto of Redemtion next W/E in northern Iowa. Are there any other areas worth checking out up there? How about nearby Hotels?
  9. I wonder why all NEWER vehicles don't use GPS technology to operate the speedometer. I firmly believe that is how they will operate in the future. Maybe with a mechanical backup for when traveling thru tunnels, etc... Craigr
  10. If I remember right, the original ones had a 440cc engine & they just keep going up from there. Craigr
  11. I thought all V Twins had ONE carb. (?) Craigr
  12. You just need to pull the right trailer. I can't speak for any but my Bushtec and honestly, I forget it's back there! I have to adjust my mirrors just to keep reminding me it's back there! It's worth every penny I paid for it!! Craig
  13. Check out the following link. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2007/09/24/honda-gold-wing-quad-from-hannigan-motorsports/ It is a 4 wheeled Goldwing!! - Aside from how practical it is, I think it looks pretty cool. craigr
  14. I doubt I would tackle the Actual Painting myself, I've been away too long and I want a VERY good job. I just don't know the latest paints & chemicals compared to the older stuff. I may have to take the bike in to get an estimate on a good paint job, (I know it will be expensive). Thanks
  15. Yes, I am thinking about painting the entire bike Sunkist Orange, but since the dash is sort of 'Marblized' I thought that maybe it was made out of some kind of Plastic that wouldn't hold paint very well. I know it sounds like a dumb question. But, if I remember right, when I worked in a body shop in the late 70s, we would run into some plastics that either didn't hold paint too well or it wouldn't 'gloss up' very well or ???. So we always tried to avoid painting them. I know that it would be a pain to sand in the speaker areas, I always got stuck with the small areas like that, like the vents below the windshields on 60s era cars. craigr craigr
  16. That really looks good against the black. I doubt it would look good against the blue. I am thinking of painting the entire bike orange, not just the dash. I guess I should have been more specific.
  17. How do I adjust the headlight on a 2nd Gen? Do I have to remove the Headlight ring? Craigr
  18. I currently have an 07 blue / black Venture. I've been tossing around the idea of changing the color to Sunkist Orange. When I was a teen, one of my friends painted their Sportster that color. Can the dash be painted on the Venture? Craigr
  19. Aren't t those comparisons kinda like the 'Ford & Chevy' arguements? It's great that the RSV came out on top, but this is the first I've seen where it did. craigr
  20. So who traveled the farthest to attend?
  21. Great Pics. You all look like a nice bunch of folks. I wish I could have been a part of it. craigr
  22. By chance, has anyone had theirs chromed? I am wondering about the cost
  23. So, I never did see it - Can the 2nd Gens run on Gravity feed only?
  24. Remember, when ever you kiss a cousin, you are always supposed to pat them on the backside too.
