  1. Yes there is. They may still be inside the stock mufflers though. They are a very thin gray material and mine have usually stayed in the mufflers when I remove them.
  2. The bike looks great Dan. Really happy to see you riding a Venture again. I know it's been way too long.
  3. Sounds like a GREAT time by all. I am sincerely sorry that I missed this one. It just wasn't in the cards for me this year. I wish I could make them all.
  4. No, that is not normal. Since it is under warranty, I would have them look at it. It could be that a carb sync would solve it but it could also need some cable lubrication or a number of other things.
  5. If those are the covers you need, I have one I can send you.
  6. It depends on how much you wish to spend also. Edsets will work on SOME shorty helmets but you would have to send Ed a message to find out if they will work on the Bell. Here's a link: http://www.edsets.com/ VentureRider members DO get a discount from Edsets so be sure to ask for it if you go that route.
  7. You ride an '89. They are entirely different than the second ge ('99-present) which has a conventional gas tank and cap.
  8. Here is the thread. See if it answers your questions. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=512
  9. I've used mine enough now to proclaim that they are absolutely the best I've ever owned and I've had several. Did you remember to take advantage of our discount?
  10. OK folks, the VentureRider travel mugs have arrived. See the sticky thread for details. The VentureRider Guardian Bells have been shipped to me and should be here on Monday or Tuesday. I will get those shipped next weekend after I get back from my weekly business travels. I still have extras of both if anybody hasn't ordered but wishes to. 11. This is a fairly recent problem. Ebay has apparently changed the way they do the searches. If you click on the link and get to the Ebay page, you can then narrow it down again by clicking categories in the left column. I'll take a look at in when I'm on the road again after the weekend and see if I can get it straightened out again.
  12. This one is really rampant right now. I've personally received the email almost every day for the past week. If you receive it, do NOT click on any of the links to open them. http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/fbi-facebook.asp
  13. OK...I understand but I honestly don't know how I can do what you are asking. Using the "back" button on the browser is the only thing I can think of at this time. I will give it some more thought though and see if I can come up with anything.
  14. I'm not sure that I fully understand this. There is a "New Posts" link in the menu bar at the top of the page as well as in the menu bar at the bottom of the page. Clicking either of those will open the list again.
  15. I've lost one of the little covers of the side of my N41 also. I'm not sure which part to order though. The part that is missing on mine is the little rectangular cover on the side that covers the screw. It's a clear piece maybe an inch wide and 1 1/2" long? I don't know if that would be the replacement pivot kit or the replacement faceshield cover kit. I wish they showed some pictures.
  16. No, it does not unplug. You have to unplug it inside the black box under the trunk. It's a Motorola type connector.
  17. Mine has done the same thing. I simply opened it up and with steady and smooth force, forced it open all the way. It straightened it out and I've never had another problem.
  18. I have no idea about the job availability here but I'm currently on business in the London, KY area. Today I drove from London over to Hazard. I drove the Hal Rogers Parkway to Hazard which is a beautiful drive. Then I came back on various roads one of which was SR80. Fantastic road that had me wishing that I was on the bike. I've been to this area a number of times and always think that I might like to live here.
  19. Doesn't sound like you came through it in the greatest condition but...at least you are here to tell us about it. I'm truly sorry that it happened and hope that things heal as they should. I think that what happened to you can happen to most all of us at some time or another. It's easy to swept up in the scenery and etc. and only takes a couple of seconds for that to turn into a bad thing. Thanks for the reminder.
  20. Great picture Allen. It catches him exactly the way I remember him. Always sporting that TShirt or one just like it in various colors.
  21. Allen, Thanks for letting us know. I met and talked to Frank at several MTA rallies. Like you said, he was always easy to spot in those TShirts. Quiet a character and will be missed by many.
  22. Come to think of it, I haven't heard anything from Zach in a while now. You might try sending him a PM. Here is his profile. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=3722
  23. I'm going to guess that it wasn't their motorcycle specific oil that you asked about. The MX4T specifically states that is is formulated for wet clutch applications. http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil1_Racing_4T_10W-40.aspx I've used it in 4 different bikes since about 1999 and in my RSV since 1999 with no clutch problems.
