  5. weight watchers..if I have to pay 12.00 dollars a week to weigh in, I'm not going to gain an an ounce...eat only veggie oamlets, veggie burgers, veggie soup, veggie salad, veggies raw, ok.. an occasional burger from d and r restaurant and no fat milk smoothies every night, no more white bread, pasta or rice...only weight watcher whole grain breads(I swear they loaded with diaretics). no more white potatoes only sweet potatoes..I DO CHEAT WITH CAKE OR BROWNIES MADE WITH DIET SODA INSTEAD OF OIL AND EGGS..TASTES THE SAME .....Its is easy because TATERS is eating healthy also...my biggest treat is chicken with the skin removed doused in nonfat Milk, then coated in wheat bread crumbs and then baked...It is a life change...besides I'm preparing for all those ICE CREAM RUNS...:rotf:

  8. All you fellow dieters have been pretty quiet on how the diets are going..I think its time to check in on everyones progress..I, on the other hand, have surpassed my goal of 40 lbs. and have set a personal goal to loose another 20 or 25lbs by MD. Now all I have to do is remind myself of all those wonderful desserts I'll be able to sample at Dons.....

  14. When I bought my 05, I did have the dreaded whine at the higher rpms..sounded like a blender on high speed...Everyone I rode with told me about it , but because I always had the radio on I didn't hear it..one day I rode without the radio and it was very obvious to me..took the bike to the dealer and had them put in the I basket under warranty..when I picked it up a few days latter, I couldn't believe it was the same bike..It sounded totaly different..my riding companions thought I got rid of the whine by masking it with a new exhaust..anyway if you buy it..it will still be under warranty..I would still be riding this bike whine or no whine..have put on 12,000 miles since I replaced the basket with no reoccurance of the whine..I wouldn't give up this bike for anything..It ,by far is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. We ride two up all the time and TATERS wouldn't stand to ride anything else...LUCKY ME...
  15. Don't go there......wait till you see what I wear at Dons MD..cant dissapoint my admirers who sent them to me..now theres a sleepless night for all you guys...lol:whistling:
  16. Scott, leave it to you to come up with a solution like that.....thanks..I'll try that too....not.....

  18. Name of Restaurant D AND R RESTAURANT Street Address 63 Lake St...Rt 19 City Le Roy State or Province NY Website (Optional) www.dandrdepot.com Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Great Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) comfort food Alcohol Served? Yes Additional Comments Dand R Depot is located on Rt 19.. 4 miles south of the New York state thruway between the cities of Rochester and Batavia...or if you prefer one half mile north of rt.5 again on Rt 19..Nancy, the sweet 70 something owner is a lovely woman who enjoys seeing bikers at the restaurant..She will tell you how she likes to watch the Sunday Bluehair crowds faces when we arrive on our bikes ...She and her late husband were bikers at one time..She will tell you how she would go to church on the back of a BSA in high heels...but enough of that..The food is absolutely wonderful..lunches are around 7.00 dollars and dinners around 15.00....You must experience the little restaurant for yourself..If you call ahead, she will even set up tables under a canopy for your group...but that takes the fun out of watching the church crowd...this is a small restaurant with seating for only about 35 or 40...best home made hamburgers and chicken pot pie in the world..Portions are HUGE.. difficult to finish a burger or a wrap ....Dessert is heavenly....When asked if I could write this review, she asked was estatic with the thought of having more bikers around to liven things up...Oh yea, the service is wonderful and it is a FUN place to visit with all of its train and German decor..This is a winner..
  19. I installed a garmin 2720 in my bike recently and am having a hard time seeing it in the sunlight..Tried moving it to different locations to no avail..I know there are sun hoods I can purchase..Other than that ..any suggestions out there to relieve the problem..and yes, I tried the brightness adjustment on the garmin.. It didn't help..any suggestions?
  20. What better time to get even with someone...kick them when their down bossman..lol:buttkick:
  21. Wonder if you can get them in chrome..?
  22. I have the 2720..got it at refurb depot .com for 139.00. I also got a wireing harness from garmin and wired it derectly from the battery via a lighted toggle switch for power.. I split the fairing and split the audio cable so that I can hear the commands thru my headset or speakers when on aux.. not a big job.. cost around 25.00... All parts for the splitter I bought from radio shack..took about 45 min.. theres a thread here that shows how to do it... the 2720 is waterproof and so far I love it..It is a large unit and it doesn't run on batteries..didn't like the power hookup it comes with.. thats why I changed the power supply..as you know the speaker it comes with is in the power chord...I didn't like the speaker hanging out of the ac plug..for the money it cost me , and the simplicity of usage you cant go wrong ..there are a lot of gps units out there and it can become quite confusing...It all depend what you want in a unit...for me ..again ..simplicity...I bought a ram mount to attach the unit to the handlebars..By the way garmin sent me the wireing harness at no cost..If you decide to go this way, give me a pm and I will give you the name of my contact person and his number at garmin for the harness....
  23. Taters and I, do alot of weekend riding, usually putting on 500 to 600 miles each weekend. After leaving Dons' MD weekend, we are planning to travel southeast thru Puxatawnny, Johnstown, Gettysburg, Lancaster, and work our way bach up North, and West. Plan to spend about 7 days riding. Im August, we plan to meet up with our friends PB & J and Rawhide, and travel the FingerLakes. We have no definate plans for any other trips this year, but you never know. We like to fly by the seat of our pants...kinda like to ride without having a destination in my mind. Enjoy not knowing whats around the next corner...keeps life interesting and always an adventure. P.S. Always looking for new icecream stops.
