It took a while,,, but I really think we have some viable answers.
  3. Link don't seem to work,,,, now I'm getting real bored,,,, maybe go see Big Tom instead,,he seems bored as well.
  4. Marca wants to make some apple blossoms. She thinks somebody form this forum told her how to make them,, but she can't remember who, or how they were made. Man,,,,could I ever eat some apple blossoms.
  5. SHHHHSHHHHSHSHSHHH Tom hasn't posted in almost two hours,, he must be taking a nap,,,,, wonder what made him so tired????
  6. Wow Dano,, look what you started. Now we got ourselves an old fashioned family get-together. Opinions flying from the top to the bottom and from one side to the other,,,,, but you know what amazes me????? The fact that through this all, we are not cutting each other up, we are not berating each other. Most of us have said that the post was insensitive, even Trader admitted he could have done different,,,, but I did not read things about leaving this site, that someone should go elsewhere,,, etc. I read honest opinions, and suggestions, maybe even some guidance as to how to carry forward. Folks, friends, we all screw up at times, and sometimes we need to be called up on the carpet for doing so. Well we did that in a grand olde fashioned way. Thanks for being the family we fondly call: VentureRider.org.
  7. Ok, so what's staying at Big Tom's?????
  8. Yep,, that's snow alright,,, need somebody to plow it off for you?????
  9. Are they plowing it yet??????? Can hardly wait,,,, low of -3 tonight. Ya I know, I'm different,,, but that makes me, me.
  10. Guess it's time to ride over to Big Tom's,,,, Taters must be gone so he has the house to himself!!!!!! PARTY TIME!!!!
  11. This just ain't fair,,, you got two summers in a row,,,,,, watch you don't wear out that Harley prematurely.,,, and OH have a great time. Let us know when you get back.
  12. Good to hear. looking forward to it already
  13. So what's so different about that bracket,,,,, I'm missing something here.
  14. Yes we can ship the US,, cost will be worked out,,,,, sounds like about $5.00 more... maybe.
  15. I think there is also a clause that says how many miles per year you can drive an antique, and if you go over that you loose the designation. It would probably also have to have an antique designation to start with.
  16. There is one argument that is often not used in such cases. The insurance will go on line to find a similar MC and then make that a starting point. Only thing is, is that MC would not be ready for the road such as yours was. So now they need to add to the price the cost of actually getting it ready for the road,,, in other words, licensed and certified. That at a minimum would be what I would expect.
  17. We will bring this into the throne room. There is no better place to bring our problems.
  18. He could make the inserts for the side covers as well. My guess would be that the material cost would be higher but the labor a little less, so I would guess about the same for them, but if there is interest I would be willing to double check just to make sure.
  19. Should have called me first,, I have a shirt and pants somewhere just for that job,,, kind of like tailor made!!!
  20. They didn't load right the first time,,, they're there now. Don't you have work to do????
  21. This is to see if there is any interest in having engine side covers made. The part #s would be: 41R-21731-00-00 and 41R-21741-00-00. They are a 1st gen part only. Will be made from Mirror Finish 18 gauge Stainless. The right side will not be dimpled for the screws, but I figure a couple of nylon washers glued in place should work just fine. Cost would be about $100.00 for the pair and may include shipping. It maybe cheaper, depending on how many we need. We just worked out a maximum price today. The ones shown are chrome, so for identification only.
  22. What I did with my wheels, is to buff them as best as they would get,,,, they looked good, I then polished them with Classic Cloth, from Classic Cloth International, South Dakota (couldn't find a website). That was 4 years ago,,, today all I need to do is to wipe them and they shine. I did the same for my engine covers this past winter, but I'll not make any claims yet,,, but they sure look good still,,,, not worth it for me to chrome them for sure. If you really want to be annal about it, you can wash and treat once a year and be good. Before this I had stripped my engine covers and forks,,, buffed them and them used a poly coating,,, not happy!
  23. Or mix a bit of ground up ABS from a drain pipe, mix with acetone and you're good to go.
  24. I think it's time you have a party,,,,,, a VentureRider party,,,, we could all come to help you out with your dilemma.
  25. I am really a firm believer that one vacuum gauge may read different from another, so I made my own using just one gauge with 4 shutoffs. The shutoffs act as a the restrictor as well. Total cost at the time was about $40.00 I think. And I got my own homemade tool. It works great, but you don't have the advantage of seeing all four at once. For me that is not an issue. Having just one gauge also saves time to check that all the gauges are still reading the same. I'm going to add to the design of this unit today. The 4 plastic tube leads will be shortened and then a coupler inserted to add some rubber vacuum hose. The plastic tends to get hot, and then the ends tend to get loose and I've even had the tubes collapse from the heat of the engine.
