    Not me....The Combat Vets Motorcycle Association BOD recently informed all Members nationwide that there is ONE State which is now a "No Fly Zone" for our back patches. Negotiations with the COC in that State and the CVMA are now in progress. I put this thread up to inform new riders here and hopefully their common sense will prevail on this issue. I think it would be a shame to see this thread get deleted because a few folks get riled up and put things here that do not contribute to the basic info. I have been around enough 1%'ers to be comfortable with them simply because I know their protocol.....and I respect it for what it is....their way of life. Boomer.....who has never seen a pygmie 1%'er.

    If you wear a leather vest and choose to put a LARGE back patch on it with territorial "rockers" under the patch you are in violation of the Motorcycle Protocol of any 1%'er Club which may be located in your State. Make no mistake about it....These 1%'ers take this SERIOUSLY and will confront you. If you are lucky they will request you take off the vest....There will be NO 2nd request forthcoming....There will be no discussion/debate from them regarding your RIGHT to wear whatever you want. Violence is the norm because this violation of their Motorcycle Protocol is a direct insult and show of disrespect to their Club. I'm posting this in the best interest of ALL members of this Site. I will NOT debate this issue on this Forum. To each his own regarding your individual actions. Regards and respect to all......Boomer

    I hear you Brother.Personally I don't have a preference. I have always left it up to the Family of the Hero and I have never encountered a problem using that procedure. Despite their grief I have found that the Hero's family actually want to interact with us (PGR)....even to the point of the entire Family walking the Flag Line and thanking every single Member for being there. In closing....I suspect that if the Flag issue rose to a detrimental level the PGR National BOD would rapidly put forth a specific directive concerning the wherefore's of the 3x5 PGR Flags. Ride safe Brother....And my heartfelt thanks to you for your past and continued participation with the Patriot Guard Riders. Boomer

    The bigger source of heartburn lately seems to be the flying of the PGR blue and yellow flag on funeral escorts. Some folks don't care, and some folks bristle at the sight of anything other than an American flag or the branch of service flag in a funeral escort, especially anywhere near the hearse. It is the responsibility of the Mission Ride Captain to check with the Family/CAO to determine what THEIR wishes are concerning the placement of motorcycles, Cages with large Flags, and also what large Flags are flown on the Escort Motorcycles. What anyone else has to say matters NOT. We are there to pay HONOR and RESPECT to a fallen Hero....and abide by the wishes of the Family. Boomer....PGR Ride Captain in excess of 300 Missions.

    Contact your PGR State Captain for guidance on the large PGR patch. Some State's do not allow the large back patch due to agreement with the Council of Clubs. Better to be safe than sorry....1%'ers are unforgiving when you are in their territory. Boomer....who sez knowing motorcycle protocol can save ya a beating.

    There was a proposal from a few Legislators to have this Hero lay in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington. Harry Reid shot that down quick. Boomer....With RESPECT to the last Hero of a great generation.

    I'll give the LEO's the benefit of the doubt on this one. For many bikers the riding season also means the drinking/riding season. If they use this as an opportunity to nit-pick and just write tickets that's a horse of a different color! Boomer....who only worries about Immigration Officers cuz dem pygmies are not US citizens.

    In a high-stress combat arena the weight loss is normal. It has happened to all us. I never saw a overweight member of the Armed Forces the entire time I was in-Country of Nam nor during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Keep those Care Packages going to him with the good stuff he can't get over there. And tell him there are many here who appreciate his service, owe him a debt that can never be re-paid, hold him in high esteem, and pray for his safe return home! Boomer....an old Vet who's been there and done that.
