  1. I find this to work very well for me, and it allows me to have the largest acceptable sized pictures. After opening My Documents and then My Pictures folder I select a picture I want to resize. A word of warning here, you are going to want to save these new smaller pictures into a folder, so I created a folder called Shrunk Pictures in order to hold the resized pictures. I right click on the designated picture, and then highlight Open With and then Microsoft Picture Manager. I then click on the Picture tab at the top, and then on the Resize button. Now highlight the line "Percentage of original width x height" and change the figure from 100% downward until the New Size listed under Size setting summary is 512 x 384 pixels .... just under the 207000 limit. Now under the file tab click on Save As, find the Shrunk Pictures folder and save your new resized pics in there. Hope that helps you, and no extra software required, part of Windows.
  2. I created this for gas consumption, mileage and $$ spent for a season . Please feel free to use, hope it helps you out. I have a Canadian version also posted.
  3. I have a wee bit of experience with this kind of stuff, so I have created my own file in order to keep track of gas consumption, $$ spent and kilometers/liter including season totals. I have added in two entries to show how it is done, and on the bottom is a tab showing a blank version for next season. Please feel free to use and pass on to your Canadian friends. Its nothing great, but it works. If anyone wants an American version let me know, I can change the columns easily. Good luck.
  4. Getting into Ghost Rider by Neil Peart ..... Came across a great line - Just follow your front wheel Don't that just explain it all?! Although I don't know how good it will do me if I'm late for supper again .... "just following the front wheel, honey" .... I don't think it will help.
  5. I second the Odyssey... I yank it out of the bike because it sits in a frozen shed, but after 4 months on the shelf put the charger to the battery and it said "Full" I was amazed!! Far cry from that Yamacrap that had to be charged monthly. Again .... Odyssey all the way!!!!!
  6. I don't know anything about knives, but I thought that was hilarious!!
  7. They have articles? you mean apart from Measurements and Turn-Ons and Turn Offs? I'd go check it out, but they put 'em in those little baggies now!! I remember as a kid we'd walk 20 blocks extra to the barbers with the Playboy, then he would give ya crap if he caught ya! LOL the good ole days......
  8. From a guy who.... started out with a pug who couldn't go pee, ended up with a liver shunt, and then after the whole thing was done he was operated on at a vet university and I was out $3000 total .... you can get more money, there's only one Murphy (and Buster). I remember after the operation and taking him for a walk, telling people if they want to pet him it cost 'em a buck ,
  9. Happy day ..... book has arrived. Part way through Ghost Rider, then onto Blue Highways .... dam rain better clear up or I'll be frothing at the mouth to get out and about! The more I read the more I can't wait.
  10. Name of Restaurant Minor Fisheries Street Address West Ave City Port Colborne State or Province ON Website (Optional) - Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Great Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Fish -perch & pickerel Alcohol Served? No Additional Comments The special is a perch dinner (5 big pieces) for $8.50 includes fries, coleslaw and a bun. This is the retail outlet for Minor Fisheries, commercial fishermen on Lake Erie. Fresh, fresh, fresh!! This is the best around, makes Port Dover look like crap. The store is mostly "to go". There are 3 small tables inside, but most people take their meal out to the picnic tables and patio furniture outside as this is located on the side of the Welland Canal and there are usually boats going by to watch. Everything from pleasure craft to ocean going liners. Highly recommended, I go once a week during the season.
  11. Now you mention it .... we saw two in the road about a week ago and I saw one "having a nap in the ditch" yesterday. Sure are a big and weird looking bird, don't often see them. I did see a Green Breasted Ninja up around Orangeville and a Red Nosed Gold Wing in the neighbourhood, so spring must be close. Got the baby under the carport from the shed, so expect a few days of rain. At least I can don the rubbers and give her a bubble bath while Mother Nature cleans the roads.
  12. They are probably going to send me out on an ice floe for this ..... but ..... PERSONALLY I find the Women's Hockey to be true Olympic champions. Team practised together, billetted with families, and were not professionals. Whereas, the mens hockey was like a Pro Bowl were the players from the NHL are divided up by countries instead of the team that drafted them. Had the same smell as the basketball in the Summer games, just not Olympics to me. Hopefully this doesn't fall under the "Acts of Treason", but I may have to hand in my Timmies card.
  13. Yeah, if you could read his mind: "Oh my god this is sooooo embarASSing, hopefully none of the guys from the paddock come along! But it is nice to cool the hooves for a change."
  14. I think I now know what they mean by half-assed.
  15. Why whatever do you mean?? Hhhhhmmm ........ something tells me someone ran for a tape measure first and was a little disappointed with the video.... naw must be my imagination!
  16. I'm thinking ...... this one is going to get a few hits! After all, don't we all wanna know just how small our ass is?
  17. After loving the award winning Perdido Street Station I couldn't wait to dive into China Mieville's The Scar. The guy is not an easy read, so after 600+ pages I found the ending a big disappointment. Too bad. Harlan Coben's Just One Look was a great fast read. Couple of days, and hard to put down. As per other's advice I have Ghost Rider by Niel Peart. Just beginning it, and I must say it is very well written, especially for a rock drummer. Let's face it, they aren't usually known for their brains. (Tommy Lee say no more) And I admire the guy for not using his celebrity status to try to sell the book. Although not a Rush fan myself, I was still surprised to hear the guy had lost his daughter and wife before starting this voyage. Recommended book!
  18. 05 Liquid Silver ergo Silver Surfer
  19. I had the same bike. Took it everywhere, street, dirt, rock, swamp .... hanging from the end of a front end loader (don't ask) But it was one tough little amigo.
  20. A very funny guy who does both travel books and looks into life in the 50's and 60's is Bill Bryson. There were some parts of his books that had me laughing out loud, in ..... of all places, the service center waiting room while waiting for the car to be done. Got some funny looks there!!
  21. I have a whole bunch of small dents clustered together on my paved driveway from the kickstand. I got a hard plastic disk (blue) with Yamaha logo on in from the local "gouger", he had a few, but I had to pressure the guy to give me one.
  22. Broke down and spent the big $7 for a used edition on ebay... awaiting arrival.
  23. Personally, I'd look at it as a phone call to "get our money grubbing hands on your baby so we can over charge you for some bogus problem that we can quickly create while you're not looking." But maybe thats just the Scorpio in me coming out. But it doesn't sound like these guys are looking to give away anything for free.
  24. I just finished World Without End, by Ken Follett, the sequel of the epic Pillars of the Earth. Quite a good read, medieval timeframe, but I'd suggest reading Pillars first so as to understand the characters a little better. At 2000 pages total these hefty tomes will take a while to work through, but the story glides by nicely.
  25. If that is not a real family .... that is great casting .... the girl looks like she could be his kid for sure!! Good effect with the timing. Very well done.
