  3. wow!!! real sorry to hear this. theres always a risk riding bikes. stuff like this happens all the time friend....one just hopes it doesnt happen to them. but it could happen anytime, and to anybody. you take it easy and hope you heal well and soon. forget about riding for a while and concentrate on getting well...what else can i say. keep in touch with the family, though.

  6. i dont buy that story, buddy. this is happening in YOUR town and you cant get away for a couple of hours? what is it exactly thats involved in taking care of rhonda? if she's in that bad a shape, shouldnt she be in the hospital? or are you also a male qualified nurse? do you want me to bring my wife so she can be with rhonda while you attend the meeting? no offence to rhonda....but i dont really know what rhonda's ailment is. whatever it is...our wishes are that she get well soon. shes probably sick from you sitting by her all the time...give her some breathing room, buddy. get the hell out, for a while. there's a thing called " cell phone" you know? google it and you will find all kinds of info on it. i'm sorry, brad and rhonda....just read the other thread about rhondas operation. i take back all i said. you stay home, buddy....and if i see you at the meeting...i will PERSONALLY kill you! see you soon and me and wife wish rhonda a quick recovery....and you enough strength to tackle all the house work from now till rhonda is able to ride her bike.
  7. sorry...cant help. you see....us first generation owners dont get much problems with our bikes, and thus are not very good at solving bike problems. but fret not. you have lots of company here. with so many second gen owners, there will be no shortage of guys who have experienced similar and other problems and are well versed as to how to fix them. good luck.
  8. sorry to hear about this, james. i assume jake is your son..... we wish him and his girlfriend full and quick recovery.
  9. is my job supposed to take me somewhere? i feel like a hamster on a spinning wheel. working hard but going nowhere.
  10. hey....i will be there for sure.....well....if the weather cooperates. if you show up, swifty....the bbq chicken and A beer's on me. should be fun.:cool10: oh...and bring along bradT. then we can make HIM foot the bill.
  11. it wasnt planned, dave ( swifty). it was just a coincidence that we all bumped into each other there. but then again....if i had a daughter with me.....hmmm...i wouldnt call you anyway.
  12. " haugens BBQ" is a restaurant near port perry on hwy 12 north of whitby about 15 to 20 kms north of 401, carl. throughout summer they have motorcycle cruise nights every thursdays and antique car cruise nights every wednesdays....in evenings from 5pm approx to 9 pm or so. on good days as many as a 1000 motorbikes show up....with their riders, ofcourse.. the place is famous for bbq chicken....and they have a huge yard ( compound), to accomodate the number of vehicles that show up. couple of bike stores have booths set up too with accessories etc. and they have a DJ there too, keeping people entertained. the big night was last thursday and they had a live band performing. unfortunately next week ( thursday) is the last cruise night for this year. was nice to meet scott ( mother) and his daughter...sorry but am terrible at remembering names..and stephen ( tfd 69)and his daughter too. used to bump into run n bare there too, once in a while, but havent seen him for a while. oh...carl...you mentioned somewhere in another thread that "mother" was coming to ft. erie...but i am sure he did say to me that he wasnt going to be going to ft erie, since he was commited elsewhere...( FYI). i might show up, though. dont tell me i didnt warn you.
  13. i would be concerned about the handling of the bike.....its not the same as hauling a trailer.
  14. hey scott...terribly sorry to hear about your accident...glad to hear yu'r not too badly hurt. just got home from my camping trip to quebec. wish you luck in finding the parts you need....and hope to see you soon. will drive by when i get a chance....in the meantime..take it easy and give healing some time. i would even suggest make fixing the bike this years winter project. riding season's almost over, anyway.
  15. have fun.....mother.....and ride safe.:cool10::cool10:
  16. thanks for the info....saddlebum. i was just about sold on the idea of using amsoil after talking to their rep at port dover on the 13th. i guess i will stick to non synthetics.
  17. 1. what buddy said....in his first sentence. 2. i would make a background check on what political party the bike belonged to before you acquired it....
  18. nobody's offended, yama mama. you got it wrong. you should know the bunch by now, that hangs around this website.......
  19. looks beautiful.......by any name.
  20. exact thing happened to me years ago, me driving back to toronto from myrtle beach. it was an open area...farmland kind of....and there was this house about 200 yds in, from the highway i was on. i caught a glimpse of a dog running the same direction i was going, except he kept coming towards the highway. i didnt think much of it...thought he will probably stop soon. no way....the damn thing seemed to have a date with my front bumper, and BANG! he headbutted the side of my bumper before i could take any evasive action. amazed at how he timed his run to meet me about a half mile away from his home....and i must be doing over 60 mph. well....i wasnt going to stop to see if his master owned a shotgun. stopped at the next service station, and sure enough, there was some doggy hair and some dried blood on the bumper. sure hope the dog survived, but i doubt it.
  21. :clap2: you are talented, buddy. i dont care if it doesnt run......nice piece of art..:cool10:
