  1. I cannot imagine the pain you are experiencing...I would be devistated to lose one of my kids. Our prayers go out to you for strength in this time of your greatest sorry. God bless you!
  2. ...and you are correct...it is a great group of people (he said modestly)! :BLUE:
  3. One thing about the folks on this site...there is no lack of suggestions on how YOU should spend your hard earned money!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. and back in the seat SOON. A little something coming your way. Take care. Jim T:thumbsup2:
  5. If so, you guys will last forever! That is a lot of time to be on the road...not sure how you do that...ALONG with all the other things you do! Have you figured out the cloning process?
  6. You are right on, Sir. After 28 yrs in the military and a PGR rider myself, it is very difficult to accept that these despicable people actually have the right to do the disgusting things they do. Integrity and honor seem to be of short supply these days. Having said that, I guess these things are not in such short supply...I have to correct myself and believe that most folks are honorable...witness the great people on this site.
  7. This has been an amazing thread!
  8. I want to have some patches sewn on our vests, but do not want to have the pockets sewn shut. Anyone know where I can find someone in the San Antonio area that might possess such skills?
  9. That is a fair idea...I will do so...just want something to compare it to. Like I said, I have some very good friends that use the c/t...one of them tried it, didn't like it...then later tried it again, playing with tire pressures...and loves it! I know I come across as wishy-washy on this...and I admit that I am all over the place on it...eventually I will try it...then I will know for myself. Thanks for the dialogue...I am learning!
  10. That's is actually my point...I admit that I don't ride nearly as aggressive as those in the video...but, especially in a turn, I don't want to be "looking for the feel" I want to feel the confidence of what is under me. Please don't take offense...I am merely stating where I am on this issue...I have talked with several good friends who ride on the c/t...I just cannot seem to convince myself that it is for me. Until that time I will continue to ride m/c tires. Different strokes...and all that!
  11. I am one that has been on the fence regarding the C/T on my bike...this video kind of disturbed me. I appreciate the lean angle the rider was able to obtain...BUT...it sure seems to me that he was fighting it all the way...like he was looking for the best "feel" in the lean, causing him to kind of oscillate between more and less lean. I grant you that the rider may be the reason, but I would sure like to see the same rider on the same bike, but with a motorcycle tire...just to be able to compare. Now, at this point (after viewing the video), I am leaning toward my previous attitude (as presented in this thread by BuddyRich)...m/c tires on motorcycles, c/t on cars...etc.
  12. about age 12 (1958)...cousin's cushman then at 15 I got a Honda 50cc "girlie bike"...but it got me the bike bite!

  14. My last assignment was at SAC HQ at Offutt AFB...I had not heard about the museum...and want, very badly, to see it! You have given me another destination!
  15. I am so sorry to hear about your loss...I can only imagine the pain you must be enduring. Prayers for your lovely bride, and for strength to get you through this very difficult time.
  16. My Cyclemate costs $56 a year...I have a utility trailer that costs me $5/yr...it is registered as a farm trailer...should have registered my Cyclemate as farm also!
  17. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how the federal government continues to do what they do...just because you CAN print more money, doesn't mean you SHOULD print more money. This applies to the feds, across the board, it is not a D or an R thing...they ALL are killing us!!!!
  18. Very humbling information! Thank you for this posting. It is so sad that we Americans forget so quickly...so many don't want to remember Sept. 11, 2001...I'm sure the memory of Vietnam has faded as well. If there is one thing we learn from history...it's that we learn nothing! Not sure who said that (something to that effect, anyway), but so true.
  19. Nice ride...I know you will enjoy it...as the others said, looking forward to seeing it.
  20. Right on Black Owl...I am so glad to see the veterans of that era finally gaining respect. While I personally don't give a damn what most people think, I see that many people are coming around. Thank God that our troops today do enjoy the respect they receive!
  21. As usual, Boomer, you are right on...the gentleman and his wife who drive the truck opened it up so we could see at least some of it before we left for the escort...I can't wait to go back out (going Wednesday) with Belinda to see it all set up. If it is anything like the wall in D.C., I know I will have a severely large lump in my throat, and my eyes will be (as the Grinch said) leaking!
  22. One of a different kind...the escorting of the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall. I have never had the opportunity to see it, and to participate of the escorting of it is truly an honor. According to the internet site, the Wall will be at Lackland AFB thru Friday...I really cannot understand why it will not be at the Gateway to the Air Force over the weekend, but, I guess it is what it is.
  23. There is nothing wrong with a Nation that remembers its fallen and missing...that is why we have been such a great Country. Today's military has many pressures placed upon them...the fact that they are ALL volunteers makes me proud. God bless them all. And...thank you for the posting.
  24. The clear history button was checked...I will try this...thanks, Don...and everyone who tried to help...appreciate it.
