While I still don't have a "formula"...you have helped immensely...I do realize the error of my ways! I wore a trailer tire out on my trip to MO and IL...had 25 lbs in it and the tread went wieder-bye-bye!

Your posting struck an emotional response with in me. I'm so sick of our losing so many young people. God bless you for accepting the wife of your friend's invitation. Honoring a fallen hero is the right thing to do...you will, no doubt, have many thoughts of your friend as you ride to and from the ceremony...be careful and keep your thoughts together...we certainly do not want to read about you having any problems. Please thank Sgt Brian Walker's wife for his service and express our sorrow at the loss of such a young man.

Every decision has pros and cons. Honda does not want us to pull trailers, yet many of us do just that. The decision to try a c/t is not one to be taken lightly...I have struggled with it for several months. So many have tried it with very positive results...why the motorcycle community doesn't develop a feasible answer to the tire situation escapes me...I guess they are content with the relatively expensive and short-lived tires available to us. I get five times the mileage on my cages than what I get on the bike. We recently took a 2500 mile trip...two up, pulling a trailer...tires were on my mind throughout the entire trip. A tire blowout with my wife on the bike is not something I want to happen. All that being said, I am going to try the c/t...will put it on this Friday. Will it be any better?...that remains to be seen. Do I recommend it to anyone else?...no, you all are big boys and girls and can make your own decisions. Just, please, don't down talk those of us who do check it out. I am 66 yrs old and do not need to be preached to about the dangers of the c/t...I have yet to hear of a c/t causing an accident...once I do, I will reevaluate my decision and act accordingly.

Could not have said it better!!!!

Well, going to give it a try! First have to find a place that has the Michelin Alpin...then Tom is going to take me a round to get it mounted, then have it and the centramatics installed on the bike. All this will take place the first part of June.

He is not transporting tires...he is the Michelin man!

Never like to hear about someone going down...and to have an outcome like this is terrible! Our thoughts and prayers go out.

Tom and family...mother's are so very special. To lose one is terrible...to know that you are about to lose yours is pain personified. Praying for your mother and for your strength to get you through this most difficult time. Jim And Belinda

of people who are thankful you are okay...we don't need anymore of us getting badly hurt. You know, I have been on the fence about changing over to the run-flat car tire...your experienced, I believe, has moved me to the "going to do it" side of that fence. Take care, heal well.

There are no sites like venturerider.org...this site is in a league of its own. But there are a couple of liste I visit for info on wings...as someone already said, there are some jerks on the site, but you can get a lot of good info. I will post the links to to two that I visit...MODERATORS...if I shouldn't not do this, I am trusting to delete my posting...thanks: http://gl1800riders.com/forums/index.php http://www.goldwingowners.com/

One of the things that stand out about our recent trip to San Francisco is that on the way there we pulled off the interstate to eat. We had to stop for a red light before continuing to the restaurant...there on the corner was a panhandler. Not the typical panhandler as we both commented on his attire, which was actually pretty nice (better clothes than what I was wearing). We continued on the restaurant...where we sat outside. While eating, Belinda said "look at that"...it was the panhandler coming to eat, too...getting out of a Lexus! I know that many of these people need help, but when I'm driving a Corolla and he is driving a Lexus...I'm just saying!
