Does any one know how I screwed up the pictures on Photobucket, this is the first time I've tried using it. My link looks like all the rest but my pictures don't show up until you hit the back to kawoodworth in the albums tab.

Not a Royal Star but Still a Yamaha... A friend of mine called me a few weeks back and asked if I wanted to buy their Motorcycle. I couldn't pass it up it was so cute.. lol It is a 1983 Virago 500 with only 5743 miles on it. Still looks and runs great.. Not sure what Im going to do with it, I just like the way it looks.. I feel like an elephant on a mini-bike when I get on it. I started parting oiut the 84 Yamaha Venture Royal XVZ12 I bought in Pa I have already listed some of the outer layer parts but anyone interested can have first shot at anything on the bike you can use before I list them on Ebay. Send me a list of what your interested in and I send pictures of what I have. Revised 7/11/08 Since my original post yesterday I got numerouse replies by way of thread post and PM. Most of the parts requested I have and are very useable. But, for a number of reasons responding to all the request got complicated quickly. One thing is I can't figure out how to attach photos to PM responses . So on the bottom of this post are pictures showing the current status of the disassemble process and picture of the parts That have not already been listed on Ebay. Currently I have about 35 items listed on ebay that are all linked by insert tags in the listings. Many of the request have been for the same items so now comes the delima of who to offer the part to. So in all fairness to everyone lets do it like this. 1st. Tell me what your looking for. I'll tell you if I have it, post pictures on the thread response rather than Private Message and whatever else I can tell you about the condition or useability of the part. Please keep all communication regarding availability of part, pictures and condition on the thread so everyone can see the same information rather than me having to answer the same question multiple times. Then if you want the part send me an offer for the part plus shipping or postage, by way of Private message. in case of multiple request for the same item I will offer the part to the person offering the most for it. So if you want it:mo money: As much as I'd like to offer these parts to all of you as a gifts, I did buy the bike as an investment to make a few bucks and I do need to cover my expenses of going to PA to get her and hauling her back to GA. However, I will donate to Venturerider.org 10% of whatever I sell as a result of this post. As far as the overall condition of the parts Plastic Body parts; Most of the plastic is in good shape considering the age of the bike however, whoever owned the bike in the past painted over the original red/darkred color with what appears to be flat black spray paint. So whoever buys the body parts will need to repaint whatever piece they are interested in so keep that in mind. Any and all of the flaws I've noticed so far are very fixable. The two lower front fairings have been substainly damaged. It appears that the bike has been living outdoors uncovered. Some of the chrome pieces have surface rust that can be easily cleaned.Some of the metal alloy pieces have signs of oxidation that I believe can be wire brushed clean in most cases. The bike was non running when I got her and has been sitting for a while. Last inspection sticker by the State Of NH is dated 6/30/02. I don't know anything about its history other than what I can see. Bike is showing 53K miles. When I put a battery in it everything came on and lit up and the engine turned over easily. I imagine since it's been sitting the carbs and electrical connections may need some attention. I will test any parts that I can to determine if they are good or not.

According to Wikipedia, a legend is a narrative of human actions that are perceived both by teller and listeners to take place during a motorcycle rally and to possess certain qualities that give the tale some sense of authenticity. These narratives are centered around pictures that are taken by attendees and explained in online posts to those who were not eye witnesses to the event but like to live their lives vicariously through those that did attend. Well, a legend has begun around a "life form" seen in a pond by only a few people who have attended at Maintenance Day celebrations in Oberlin, Ohio. How it started...many, many, many, many moons ago, one Canadian (our now dearly departed, Charlie) had a camera during one sighting (maybe the first), and posted what he tagged as the pond monster, or was it the Nelson Ness Monster...I forget...but given that he had a reputation for photoshopping his pictures, and was considered by many native Canadians not to be of a sound mind, his posts lacked some credibility, and consequently many ventureriders didn't believe what they saw in his posts...and that's how legends get started. Since some rumours have circulated that I have a special connection to the monster, (likely because I am one of only a hand full of people who have dared the depths of the pond), and since I am one who lives his whole life in the pursuit of educating the masses, I have taken it upon myself to investigate these ULFs (unidentified life forms) and set the record straight once and for all. I am currently in the process of writing the TRUE story, I am gathering evidence, I am waiting for pictures to arrive, I am purchasing software to detect photoshopping, I am checking with my sources (only credible eye witnesses) and I will submit the final product when it is done. If you don't post anything under this post my story WILL be posted directly under this one and it will be bumped for all to readwhen I have determined the truth ; however, if you can't wait for my story and you start your own dribblings below about what you heard (or saw) as is already happening in other threads, then my story will be buried in subsequent pages (which may be best anyways) and the true story of the pond monster may end up being lost forever...

I leave tomorrow at 6AM flying into Phoenix, where I’ll spend a few days getting to know my new to me 90 Venture before riding it 1500 + miles home to the pacific northwest. A HUGE thank you to Captain Murph for the loan of his CLASS control unit. I hope I can get it working before I head for home Friday morning. I try to take some pictures along the way and post them when I get back. My plan is to head west to 395 and then follow 395 north to Washington. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing breaks down along the way Wish me luck Al

Well, finally added some pictures of my (new) Royal Star Tour Classic II 1998 that I bought in June from a very nice gentleman in Woodstock New York. Same year, model and color as the one I have back here in Iceland. Will be coming to Don´s Maintenance Day next spring to ride the bike and meet all you great people attending this website. Like I told Mini-Muffin the other day - This is a community of the greates biker people in the USA and couple of other countrys and I am proud and honored to be a member. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

anybody got computer savvy? i,m trying to upload pictures i took of PITP. everything goes smoothly until i hit the upload key. computer tries for a few minutes then says upload failed. i,m going from a external hard drive to a wireless laptop. do i need to be hardwired in or am i just missing something? any thoughts appreciated . minnmac

Saw a MM in grand canyon main general store parking covered with one big mural of a dragon. Will try to post pictures when get to LA. the KOA here in Seligman Az must have dail-up. Also meet member LZ1 whilel taking pictures of the MM. He is a pastor from NJ considering moving from a VTX to a Venture.

Where is the "Idle Adjustment Screw" on a 86 VR located. If somebody has a good picture of where it is located, I would appreciate the opportunity to look at it. I have a Yamaha Service Manual; however, I think the author needs to take the pictures again. Most of the pictures in my manual are cloudy and dark. Really hard to tell anything using the pictures. Anyway from what I have read on this website, the Idle Adjustment Screw is on the "left side of the bike as you are sitting on it. It is plastic and does not have a slot or is not designed to use a screwdriver. It must be turned by hand." Is this correct? Does the Idle Screw face outward, towards the front or back of the bike, up, or down? Any help or instructions as to the location would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Allen Dallas, Texas -

OK folks, long ago I had implemented restrictions on how large signature pictures can be. The HUGE signatures eat up a ton of bandwidth and can really slow down a forum. The restriction got lost at some point during an upgrade. I have now re-implemented this feature and sig pictures now now not exceed 150 pixels tall. If you find that your sig is now cropped, you will just have to redo it.

okay group i want to add another person to our committee. first i will tell you the pay stinks and it will be a voluntary thing. i need some one to put all the videos and pictures together that people take and donate to the cause on a dvd to music and edit them with some professionalism so we can make them available to the members that want to savor the memories of the meet. if you are artistic and good in this field let me know. i know alot of folks will be taking videos, and pictures. your cost to make the dvd's will be covered. when the members order them. do i have any volunteers? remember they have to be top of the line and the music has to fit the video. i know i'm being awful picky but. if you are familiar with the ones floyd made of previous meets you would understand why they need to be good. his were top of the line. bill

I loaded about 140 pictures of Asheville from my camera to my computer. Where would be the best place to put them to share on here? And how would I do it. I know how to attach to a post, but I do not have a gallery. I looked at photobucket, but did not take the time to try to figure it out. RandyA
