I had some extra time on my hands so I went to my local Yamaha dealer to ask some questions. On previous visits I was unimpressed with their service department; but hey, I Just wanted to inquire and look at the RSV if they had one. They didn't have one on the showroom floor so I just looked around. Even though I know Yamaha is tight lipped on releasing any info on future models, I inquired about the 2010 RSV. I asked about the possibility of FI and colors. To my surprise the sales guy said they were already FI. I said no and he had to get the brochure to verifiy. I think I will check out the other dealers in my area. He did state that any new info would not be released until late September on the new models. I guess it's good to check around!!

OK folks, I had a few requests for the VentureRider Guardian Bells and since I was almost out of them, I went ahead and ordered 50 more. They should be here sometime next week. Information, pictures, pricing and ordering info can be found here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17406 For those of you coming to my Maintenance Day, I will have them available there for $12.00 each because you save the shipping cost.

Just had to look didn't you? Baaaa! Ok. Here's the deal. I bought a Hartco Lambskin seatcover. Nice addition for those long rides. I bought it used so no care instructions and I've been googling up care and cleaning info on lambskin. It's seems to be a toss up between dry cleaning and machine or hand wash with Woolite or a simliar cleaner. The Hartco site only refers to toweling it dry after riding in the rain so I'm looking for more info. Anybody got info on keeping one of these things nice and soft? Mike

Somewhere, someone posted a method to wire an aux fuse block into the exisiting charging circuit INSTEAD OF directly to the battery so that those aux items connected wouldn't cause a big drain on the battery and also so that if an ammeter was installed, it would show the correct info.... I think it was V7Goose who posted this info but I can't seem to find it.... anyone have the link handy?

I think I'm on the right track here but want to the check. Looks like I might be in the market for a TCI for my '84. From the info I am looking at I know that the 26 series will only work on an '83. Figures. I just happen to have a good working 26H in my parts storage. The bike starts and idles very well with that one plugged in but the advance settings are different. The 41 series will work in all 1200 and 1300 models 1984 thru 1987 from my cross reference info. As for the 41R-82305-11-00, or 10-00, or 09-00 and such that is just the minor changes from year to year from the makers right? I'm seeing TCI's with labels that only show 41R-10 or 41R-11. What is the info on that desigination? Just trying to be sure of what I'm buying. Anybody want to do some horse trading for a 26H? Mike

I just got my bike all back together after I had it all torn down for paint. That means total disassembly of the fairing as well. While it was apart I upgraded the stator and gutted the cassette player to make a storage compartment. All went well or so I thought. I installed the battery and as soon as I connected the negative cable the light on the radio went on but showed no info on the face. It would not go back off until I disconnected the battery. I havent taken the fairing back off yet as I had a few other issues to tend to first but I want to know if this has happened to anyone else and Ideas of what to look for. I dont have the player anymore so putting it back in is not an option.

I have just started looking at GPS units and need some basic info. I know that they are tied into satellites and they have different maps that they use. The info I need is how are you satisfied with what you have and what kind it is. Also the best price that you have seen for the unit that you have. As I see it there is basiclly only 2 kinds, the Tom Tom and the Zumo. Are there different brands that are out there that I just haven't been able to find or is that it? Does everything that is needed to hook the unit up and be useable come with it, or is there more that is needed? Any info will be appreciated. Don H.

The better 1/2 and I decided to take our summer ride in the Black Hills this year during last week in June. We wanted to spend a few days in the Hills, riding around and checking out the countryside. Any info on "must-see" places, (besides the big heads, of course), roads to ride, spots for the best scenic vistas, quiet motels (or motels to avoid), tourist traps to avoid, etc. etc. would be appreciated. We were looking at going to Wind Cave and Jewel Cave - are they worth seeing? On the way back to WI, we are thinking of going thru ND - is there anything in ND...................anywhere................worth seeing? :-) Thanks

If I have the correct info the Dunlop E2 tires are going to be hard to find, if available at all. I have a practically new E2 on the rear of my 88VR and can't really afford to replace both tires this year, especially considering the condition of the rear tire. Does anybody know if i can safely "mix" an E3 for the front with my existing E2 on the rear? Or does anybody have contact info for Dunlop so I can ask them?
