  1. In keeping with tradition on here, post what ya got for Christmas. (I know, I am so materialistic) I got... Best of all...everyone here for Christmas! Playstation 3 with Black Ops Motorcycle cover Clothes New boots Shoulder holster and extra magazine And a tool set I really like
  2. Got Frog Toggs Got rain liner for my Tourmaster jacket Got water proof wind pants and Got water proof/repelent Vega boots But have never seen mentioned water proof gloves. What is available?
  3. I have had a pair of riding boots for around 7 years...but they are a man's boot. I ride my own bike so I need something with some good tread on the sole. I love them, but....would like something with a "little" bit of a heel. I'd also like it if they would zip up rather than tie. The problem is we live in an area that the only place that carries women's boots is Fleet Farm. They have a brand "Eddie Moran" that I liked, but I have no idea how they will hold up. I'm hoping the women on here can give me some advice, but also, if the guys could ask their riding partners, I would really appreciate it. Thanks Deb
  4. Has anyone ever tried the Vega Touring Motorcycle Boots? I see Jafrum has a fairly good price on them here: http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Boots/Mens-Motorcycle-Boots/MB2500 They look comfortable for both riding and walking around. $69.99 each for men's and women's is affordable. Just looking forward to spring time. Thanks, Dave
  5. Ok, my old HHH Wellington boots that I ride with are about worn out and leaking after about 12 years of rideing use. So. I recently purchaced a pair of " Ariat, Ironside H20 work boots " Which basicly look like Cowboy boots. However you can get them in Wide, and Double wide size. ( EE width ). !!!!! I stopped in at the Cabela's store in Olympia Wa. a few months ago to check them out. They did not carry the EE width in store , so I had to mail order them. However I was very inpressed with the Insoles, and the soft leather. 1/2 sizes , and EE up to size 12. So whats the big deal here ?? OK, if you happen to be one of those--- UN- lucky--- folks who needs EE OR EEE width Boots, you will understand how hard it is to find a comfortable " boot " that fits !!! I normaly buy size 10 1/2 EEE shoes when I can find them. In this case I ordered size 11 EE. They arrived UPS, and wa la, they fit !!! I have been wearing them for 8 hours at a time for break in and so far, they are fantastic. Very comfortable, and flexable. Also, they have a feature to allow better entry of the heal when putting them on. If you need a pair of boots, I highly reccomend finding a dealer, and checking out the Ariat Line of Boots. ( You can find them in Cabela's On Line store, price $179.95, not cheap, but I feel they are worth every penny !!!! ) I can honestly say that this is the first pair of " New Boots " that I put on and was able to wear and walk in comfortably the first day out of the box !!
  6. It's taking me a little bit of effort to get used to the heel-toe shifter. Plus, my current riding boots are worn out and it is time tor eplace. I am thinking about getting a set of cowboy boots, but I am wondering how well the work with the controls. My size 12 foot barely fits between the two shifter pegs as it is. Anyone else ride with forward controls and cowboy boots?
  7. The first time I heard about www.stumbleupon.com was through my daughter who sent me pics of a "Hobbit House" in Wales. Since then I have been on it constantly. What you do is select items that interest you (ie: sports - skydiving) and then you click on "stumble" and it boots around the web and shows you the coolest stuff. You really have to try it in order to appreciate it. This is one of the pages from the motorcycle section, a real cool 1930 Henderson. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2RL9qW/www.bikeexif.com/art-deco-custom-motorcycle
  8. I had been looking for boots for a while. I finally found RedWing Zipper 979 Motorcycle boots. They have been the most comfortable boots I've ever worn.
  9. The reason my VR has been steadly running worse. I replaced the diaphrams last fall, with good results. I prepared myself for the replacement of several components that had obvious issues. My intake boots looked as though they were breathing better than I could, as well as the nozzle and needle set being harmonously worn out. I ordered the boots form the Serius folks, as well as the rest of the required parts from cheapparts.com. I decided to tear into it this weekend, but it really started fussing at me yesterday. I came home today, got into the first level of disassembly and after the airbox was off, I jiggled all the slides out of habit. I noticed that #2 slide was frozen in the closed position. I jiggled the others and #1 seemed weird, so I remove the cap before pulling the carb assembly. Ready for this? As #1 cap came off, the diaphram and the spring came out wrapped up in each other. Inspection of the slide showed the internal aluminum sleeve had come out of the composite body of the slide, allowing the diaphram to seperate and leave the slide to act on its own. Just when you think youv'e seen it all. It apppears to be a salvagable effort but sheese............Its all good, should have it worked out by Friday. Then off to the Hill Country to try out these E-3'S!
  10. Did somebody has take off and put back the carbs on a 96-00 Royal Star? The real question is how to put it back fitting properly on the rubber boots that goes to the cylinders? after replace the boots, It seems that even when everything is ok, there is no way to put the carbs back on place. All that I reach was my finger hammered till now with the rubber hammer. Thanks
  11. Anyone know where to get a set of after market fork boots for a 93 Venture?
  12. Got my order of carb boots and o-rings in from MiCarl. I was wanting to know if there are any tidbits I should know before putting them on. -Like should i kind of hurry due to the oil that comes out of one of the bolt holes. -Should I cover the o-rings with a little oil. -Should I just use the o-rings dry. -Should I use a sealer in addition to the o-rings. -What is the torque on the bolts? -Anything else? I will prolly do this tomorrow because the wife and kids have m going to Disney on Ice today. Thanks, Rick
  13. I purchased the carb diaphragms from Sirius (who gave us the discount) and they were great. Really easy to install! However, I also purchased some carb mounts (boots between carb and head). They sell them WITHOUT the o-ring! I was very disappointed to see they don't come with the REQUIRED o-ring. Anyways, I would say get the diaphragms from them, but avoid the boots from them as they are not complete!
  14. Has anyone seen these Rechargeable Heated Boots? http://www.columbia.com/Bugathermo/Bugathermo_Landing,default,pg.html They are supposed to last for 8 hours, and your toosties are suppose to be warm. Yama Mama
  15. My wife and I have used "Totes" slip on overshoes when it rains for a lot of years. These are the light weight boots with a zipper on the side. Her boots tore while we were on vacation and she needs a new pair. However, I can't find the ladies slip ons anywhere on the internet (of course I can find the man's "Zipper Town" boots). Does anybody else use slip ons?? Where do you buy them?? Frank
  16. Just prior to leaving for Knoxville last w/e I noticed that a couple of my carb boots are cracked. I read in a similar post that they have a metal sleeve inside of them. Is this correct? If that is the case, do I not need to worry about the cracks or do I need to replace them? If so, where's the best place to get them other than the dealership? I don't relish the thought of tackling this one. It doesn't look fun. Any help, ideas, recommendations would be appreciated.
  17. I got a pair of these boots off of fleabay for $75.00 after the "cashback" deal for using "but it now" They retail for $130.00 or so. Good boots made buy sister company of Sidi, These are good waterproof boots made in a similar fashion as the Sidi touring boots. The zipper is a good one but the zipper pull is SUPER brittle. Broke first time I pulled on it... Put in a small keyring and all is well again. They should have just used a small keyring to start with. The boots are warm and waterproof as far as I can tell, has a shin plate, toe, heal and ankle protection and they broke in, very quickly. They also have very good grip on the road and the trail for that matter. You could walk around in these all day if you had too. Good deal if you need boots and want to save a few bucks and not compromise a whole lot:thumbsup:
  18. Im looking for anyone who have some Harley Davidson faded glory boots what is is comfort level
  19. :2132:Does anyone have any experience with these? They fit me really good, and they claim to be water proof. I am ready to replace my Tourmaster WPS boots and not sure these will be as good.
  20. Will boots from a 1200 fit a 1300 ? Thanks Ron
  21. I was looking at http://www.oldbikebarn.com and see they have some parts for the first gens. I see they have carb boots and the slide diaphragms for the carbs. Has anyone dealt with this company before and if so, what was your experience. Thanks Rick F
