My girlfriend loves to ride with me but afterwords it is always a pain for her to get all those tangles out of her wind blown hair. Shes tried bandanas but can't seem to keep them from falling off for some reason. Her hair is short enough that she can't really get it all in a pony tail and she pins the rest down with bobby pins but they seem to fall out too. So my question is, what do you girls wear on your heads when riding? I know the obvious thing would be for her to just wear a helmet but she doesn't like wearing it and I don't blame her. I might try buying her a cute pink one or something. Maybe that will help??

So there has been some discussion on and off and I have a question that I would like to ask the truck drivers out there (since I know we've got a few in here). If you have EVER driven a semi or are currently driving it does not matter to me either way. I have a few over the road drivers in my family and we have had discussions about this particular topic from time to time. Only one of them does not want anything to do with motorcycles and his opinion is the same as the others. My question is: When you are on the highway in your truck how do you prefer to be passed by a motorcycle? (lane position, speed, etc.) Thanks in advance for the input!

I just returned from my first 500 mile overnight trip on the RSTD. 25 miles into the ride the left side passing light went out. I wasn't worried because it was just the light. When I got home I took the light apart think it will be a simple bulb change. But I can't figure this one out. Picture 1 - The light is out. Picture 2 - Back side of the light Picture 3 - The bulb??? Question - Does the entire headlamp get replaced or just the glass part in #3? The actual light bulb seems to be soldered to the copper colored fitting and blue wire.

I have two questions about the diaphrams.... Question 1: I took a look at two of my diaphrams and one wasn't too bad. it was starting to get a little thin in a few areas, but not bad. It had some sort of lubrication on it, some sort of grease. The other diaphram has worn holes in it and no lubrication, it was dry. Is there some sort of lube that is supposed to be on them? Question 2: where is a place to get a decent price on 4 diaphrams? Thanks, Clay

He's telling me I HAVE to rejet the carbs and I am looking at 300 - 350 to have it done. Pretty sure I read many post about rk muffs and NOT re jetting, so I guess I am looking for your opinions? road king muff's to rejet or not?

No biggie here... I'm curious about how the "New Posts" function works and here's why... at home this morning I clicked "New Posts" and got about 3 pages ... I read maybe 1 post and then shut down. Headed off to work and once there, opened the site and clicked "New Posts" and only got 12 ... how is it so different?... shouldn't I have had at least close to the same number as I had at home? I question this because now, at work, I figgure I am not seeing (or know which are new or aren't) the "New Posts" that there actually are. Anyone have an answer for this? Don, I was going to PM you but figgured maybe someone else had an answer and you could focus on important stuff.

hi folks, i tore down the rear end today in preparation for new rubber, i pulled the drive shaft and the engine end spline was dry, my question is , is the rear spline lubed by the final drive oil, this is a 1988 venture royal, second question i also changed the fork oil, will the class system raise the front end when you pump it in manually, mine reads 22 psi when it cuts off, thanks in advance.

Yesterday I decided to run a dedicated ground up to the fairing and when I started taking the bolt out of the ground lug I found that it was corroded to the point that the nut was 'locked' in place. I had to pry it out and found the cavity was nearly full of that white corrosion 'stuff'. The really perplexing thing is that I installed that battery new less than a month ago. I cleaned, scraped and used a small file to clean all of the corrosion off the lug as well as the nut and reinstalled with everything coated with white lithium grease. The Question ?? Why would it corrode that quickly ??

Just a quick question - do 1st gen trunks have a seal (?rubber?) around the "lip" of either the upper or lower part of the trunk?? I am not a "fair weather rider" therefore I do ride in the rain.......that being said water has found its way into my trunk and I'm having trouble trying to figure out where it's coming from. I can't see any obvious cracks or holes and it appears that the design of the lip around the trunk and lid may not require one but then again I don't know if I'm missing something or not. advise, comments, hints and suggestions all welcome Thanks Ed

I pulled my rear 2 plugs last night and looked at them just out of curiosity. They were white and looks like it is running lean. My question is, what causes this and how do I fix it? It's an '05 RSTD.

I gotta ask it cause I am a firm believer that the only stupid question is the one not asked! Now before we point the bikes south it may be a real good idea to know exactly where in Arkansas we are going! What city do I punch into the GPS? BlackOwl....you can stop laughing now, you're scaring the dog!

Okay, now for a dumb question. I just purchased a 2005 RSTD and I have no idea how to adjust the shocks. The previous owner lost the manual and I checked the bike out and cannot find any clue as to how to physically introduce air into the shocks, both the front and rear. Can anyone answer this simple question for me? Thanks!

How do I adjust the squelch on my CB ? I've fiddled with the different settings but I can't find CB or Squelch Thanks

Hello everyone I'm new to the RSV and have a basic question about the intercom. We currently have the Chatterbox wireless. I would like to connect these headsets to the RSV intercom system. I assume we simply need two cables to connect from the helmet to the intercom jack? Anything else that might cause problems? Thanks! Jerry

Alan has put braided brake lines on my RSV, there is no air in the line, but still no brakes!! Question from him: is the factory fitted master cylinder okay with braided lines??

Can someone please tell me if a stator for a 1991 royale would work for a 1986 royale? Thank you

I just ordered a Quadzilla fairing. I was wondering if it is installed so that the power to the fairing is off when the key is turned off?

My eyes are starting to get really tired from looking at almost 20 pages of posts about GPS hookups, 12 volt power outlets, hooking direct to battery, not doing that, fuse, no fuse, etc, etc. I have a 2005 RSTD. Here's my question: The aux DC terminal under the seat has a brown lead and a black lead, the 12 volt power outlet has a red wire and white wire. Does it matter which color is hooked to what? Also, is the aux DC terminal already fuse protected? Just want to make sure I do this right because I still have 47 payments left on the bike Seems like a simple question but I have been told that I often do the simple things with a deal of difficulty.

Quick question... I'm in the middle of reassembling the rear end of my 2002 Venture. Did the hub maintenance and pulled the driveshaft to clean and lube. Managed to get the front re-inserted but my question is about the rear. How can I be sure that the grease seal slides into place in the rear differential? Do I just put it in place and tighten it up? Don't want a bad seal or ruined parts if I force it by snugging down the acorn nuts. Thanks Ross
