1. Nina & I hooked up with Chris (Panjandrum) and a few of his "Coast Riders" group today and got out for a great day of PMS therapy. Weather was partly sunny but still a fair amount of cloud and high around 8 celcius by mid afternoon although when we headed out around 10AM, I don't think it was over 4 degrees. Chris took us over a number of "back country" routes we'd not been on before so it was nice to see some different scenery. Stopped for lunch in Cultus Lake and then headed to Birchwood Dairy for ice cream. From there we split up and Nina & I and another couple headed home while Chris and the others continued on to places unknown...like maybe Whiterock??? Anyhoo, aside from it being a bit chilly and the few drops of rain we encountered, I'm happy to report that the PMS has dramatically subsided....for now! Was the first ride with the Khromewerks mufflers on. Yep, they are definately louder than the drilled out RK's ... but I like the tone of them better...so does Nina. One thing for sure is I don't think I'll be leaving them on when we do any longer rides as I think the constant "drone" and loudness when pulling hills, etc might be cause for a bit of a headache ... definately not good when riding with a hangover LOL! A few pics ...
2. If it's anything like mine and a few others I've heard, apparently it's normal. Sounds like the whole valve train is gonna blow apart. Especially the 2 rear cylinder banks... they seem to be quite a bit noisier than the front 2, and even more so when I first start the engine. I never could figgure out why the engine on this '06 was so noisy whereas in comparison, both my 1st gen's were much quieter. I even went to the dealer and asked about it when I first got it and they said... "that engine sounds normal to me..." .... Even after 2.5 years owning it, it still bothers me but I'm trying to get used to it as I keep saying to myself... "it's NORMAL.." ... and it must be coz it hasn't blown up ...yet LOL
3. Chris, that was probably me. We've been having a "Kruisin the Kootenays" rally for the past couple years and were planning on another one for this year but there just wasn't enuf interest so we cancelled it and are going to hold it again next year. It's in Nelson, BC

my wife kicked the habit a month ago. She took the laser treatment and has had 2 booster sessions. Seems to be working for her. I was gonna do the same with her but I just wasn't ready. You have to be ready... I mean REALLY ready to quit... or it won't work.
5. Dang... and I just ordered one .... but mine will also have the bar clamp.
6. My pleasure Chris. Not sure why the lights didn't work with the brakes... all the wiring was correct ... as far as I could see anyway. Maybe a defective item?? Well, at least you have more running and turn signal illumination now and if you get the 15" light bar like I got we can install it under your trunk one day ....That I know works GREAT! I THINK I can get another couple wires in behind that lic plate .
7. My boss prefers Thunderbird over Outlook for a specific email addy. I've been using Outlook pretty much since it came out. It has features that go beyond just "email" which works well for me here at the office. At home, I don't use anything but the email feature so could easilly dump it and use Thunderbird ... but what the heck, Outlook is part of the software I have so why not continue using it at home too (I say to myself). I have worked with Thunderbird off and on for various businesses and it is a good program.
8. I tested an install of Thunderbird and on first startup, it asks for an email addy so I put in my hotmail one and it figgured out what the POP and SMTP should be and voila` ... downloaded all my hotmail emails and I could send/receive as though it was hotmail. I'd imagine it would do the same using some other "web based" email such as yahoo or gmail, etc.
9. Windows 7 is completely different in this regard than WinXP. Typical Microsoft. He will either have to set up Windows Live Mail or install a proper, "resident" email client. Thunderbird email client is free and works really good. http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ BTW, I believe you can integrate Hotmail, Yahoo email, etc, into Thunderbird.

11. I can't advise you on the cars but I was really curious why you felt it necessary to comment about the fact that the Warden's body is as really good looking as the cars??? :rotf:
12. You will need to do a bit of research on the net for this by the looks of it. Probably because hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail, etc are web browser email apps and not stand alone, resident apps on the computer. Here are some links to get guidance on this... http://email.about.com/od/windowslivehotmailtips/qt/How_to_Make_Windows_Live_Hotmail_Your_Default_Email_Program.htm http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/how-do-i-install-hotmail-as-my-default-mail-client/2f1d79b9-83e6-4746-972d-77de55e1b62b
13. What email program are you using on that machine? And, what version of Windows?
14. On the topic of forwarding something that has been forwarded to you, as has been mentioned, if you're sending to multiple recipients, put them in BCC and.... DELETE all instances of other's email addy's that may be embedded in the forwarded copy.
15. Thanks... I've got his file and request and will be working on it. I also have taught Excel for close to 20 years as well as done extensive programming in it for various businesses. His requirement will involve some simple VBA coding which shouldn't take me long.
16. I wouldn't mind having a second "rippin around" bike and a Roadie would be one of my 1st choices.
17. You might want to check into this... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/ and sepecifically the topic on "Windows XP Mode"
18. My job does not involve a lot of "work". It primarilly is a situation of a contract requirement to have an on-site IT resource. Granted, I am the guy that sets up and maintains the entire network and ensures all daily processing and reporting gets completed but I've automated most of that so for the most part, I don't have a lot to do .... so I spend a fair amount of my day on the computer doing whatever I choose to do. Funny thing is, I seem to choose being on this site the most often .... really don't know why that is

20. and what is a 2010 Nav??
21. yes, I've been noticing the kind of help you provide .... it's always the same ... buy a MAC .. (just razzin ya)
22. One thing you won't have on the RSV is low-end torque. However, once you get the revs up a bit, you will then get the torque and the higher the revs, the more you'll feel it. It's not uncommon to wind these engines out to 6000 rpm or higher .... you wouldn't be doing that on a V-twin ... at least not on a regular basis. Now after riding the Kaw 2000, you may feel a bit disappointed in the RSV's power but once you get used to the RSV along with all the "thank you honey's" coming from momma, you'll be a happy camper! BTW, does momma snore when she's sleeping???
23. I could help you with that but would need a copy of your file and a better "picture" of what you want. By "picture", I mean something you've manually created that represents the end result. PM me if you want and I'll get you my email addy to send more info/file, etc. Rick
24. Ya... me too LOL I've written to Campbell's soup asking them for either copies of the ads that we're in or some method on-line that we could view them. Not sure what kind of response I get but at least we have Monty's vid !
25. AWESOME!!! Monty ... you da MAN!! thanks so much for taping and posting that!!! - Rick & Nina
