  1. My favorite, that would be an F-4 Corsair, I think the Japs called it "screaming eagle" because of the sound the oil cooler made in a full dive, and on the ground, that radial engine sounds strong along with (I think it is) the largest propeller of any fighter in that day, I think it was 13 1/2 ft. in diameter.
  2. Carrying a little more weight that me, and being a few years older Jack, (I'm 67), can start catching up with you too. With the asthma (using an inhaler), and using a sleep apnea machine, it seems like I'm starting to lose the battle. The lung capacity just doesn't seem to be there any more!
  3. I've been having the same simptom's Jack, but asthma is one of the problems, the main problem is that I've been over medicated with colesterol medication of which weakins my whole body. I haven't been taking it for over a month now, and I'm starting to get a little better and stronger. Will continue not taking it as to get rid of side affects usually takes up to 3 months. As is, I have always wondered, outside of having a heart attack, why they were giving me this medication anyway, because my numbers have always been excellent. Here I stop it a month and a half ago, just did my labs 3 days ago, and my total colesterol is 132, HDL 36, LDL which is suppose to be 129 or lower, and it's 62. I guess you and I have two different cause's, but I thought I'd just bring this up, because several other people I know have had the same problem with a colesteral medicatioi. I've tried several medications, and suffer the same side affects from no matter which one I take. But hope your Dr. can get you back on track Jack, take care of yourself.
  4. This just goes back to what I've always said before; somebody is always doing something to be noticed, but that's all this guy is getting, he won't get anything else, well; maybe . :rotf:If he thinks he's going to be , he might as well go now and jump off a bridge.
  5. Yes, and I was kind of surprised when Rod from down south replied from an e-mail I sent and said he would have come up if he knew we were getting together. It brought back a lot of good memories of VW rides. And I think your typing is a little off Condor, one "b" in Vic's last name, and one "t" in Elliott............whoops, another senion moment.:rotf:
  6. Even though I didn't have a template since it was done at the dealer, we could have looked at my bike yesterday Jack as far as seeing how the dealer hooked up the wiring. I mean yes you have to take off the seat, but from what I remember, it was a pretty easy hook-up. I think he just went straight to the battery for red, and you know ground, but then I guess he just went straight to the stop light. But some like having both 24/7 power on the tail light which I don't like, I wanted it working just like your family car, strickly a stop light, but good luck in getting it hooked up.
  7. Ever since Dunlop changed the way they make tires, its been pretty disapointing and I haven't been a happy camper since. When they made the D404 150-90B, it was a good mileage tire, but when they started making the 150-90 without the (B), I went from getting 24,000 mi. to about 8,000 mi. I did manage to order a another tire, but when they sent it to me, I guess it was on the back shelf, it turned out to be the old stile again, and I got a little over 20k with that one. Since they don't have any more of the old good tires, I went with an Elite-II that I guess they had on the back shelf, so we'll see what happens with what I've been told, that this tire gets good mileage.
  8. First 3 sets of tires of the original tire, the D404 got me 20k front and 24k rear. Then Dunlop got greedy and made a softer rubber D404. Got about 12k out of the front, and just under 8k from the rear, a very mad customer to say the least. But when I ordered my 5th set, I managed to get ahold of the original tire one more time for the rear, and was up to 21k miles when I decided to change it. Can't find the original any more, so ended up buying a Elite II for the rear, first time I've ever steared away from a D404, was just told an Elite II was a good tire and reasonable in price, we'll see what kind of mileage I get from this one.
  9. Everybody that has heard my bike, the 1999 RSV says it sounds like a V-8. Put the Baron Nasty Boy's on around a year and a half after I bought the bike along with K&N Filters, picked up 12 more horsepower, 2 more mpg, get 42 mpg, and have gotten as much as 55 without having to re-jet. This is one satisfied customer!!
  10. I'm surprised as it has come up before that nobody has mentioned why Yamaha doesn't match the size of the Goldwing engine, make it fuel injected and put a reverse gear in it. I think we've been all been waiting for this to take place, but I guess Yamaha still thinks they have a machine that'll sort of last as long as a B-52.........just making talk.
  11. You need a Venture to do that Vic, didn't you know that. :rotf:
  12. Seems like a few months ago, there was another 99 on sale with only a couple of thousand mile on it. I'm at 104,000 on mine, and it's still doing a great job. It's hard trying to make up your mine knowing there could be trouble with such low mileage on a bike. Got my fall off antenna's replaced with 2003 antenna's under warranty, but since the bike hasn't really been used, just treat them well, and they should stay on for a few years. Good luck in whatever you decide.
  13. The Tom-Tom XXL 550 is one of the best, it has everything that you need!
  14. Looked for it but couldn't find anything. I think I remember picking it up and not getting any paperwork because it was done under warranty.
  15. Almost the only www you can find, it got great mileage way back when, then they started making it softer to give you only one third the mileage but your hooked, and still have to buy them in order to get the www. Forget the customer, like in Vegas, everything use to be cheap, but then it became a business, thanks Dunlop.
  16. Well, that's what happened. Shearded the head off of a bolt holding a plate inside the case and wanted me to buy a new case first $475, but they managed to drill out the bolt and charged me 3 hrs. labor of which they knocked down to 2. They were the ones that put in the last one, so did there machanic get it too tight, again; I don't think I should have had to pay!!
  17. Yes, I still remember the days way back when, when I use to get 24,000 out of the rear tire, and 19 to 20,000 out of the front, from here on..........dream on!
  18. Anybody ever have a new stator put in, the mechanic breaks something, and then you have to pay for it???
  19. That's the exact same one I've got. It's got the same 3 ribbon wire that Condor talks about, the sensor is on an extra long 2 ribbon black wire, so with what Condor told me, that tells me how to hook it up, thanks again guys.
  20. I bet you might have something, I'll see what happens, thanks for all the help guys.
  21. That's a thought, I'll check it out if it doesn't blow up first, lol.
  22. I wanted to do that, but there's no name on the product except the old usual Made in China. Just has an inspection sticker on it with Q.C.34 that says passed.
  23. I know I'll probably fill like a dummy asking, but I've seen these on RSV's before and bought one for my bike quite a while ago, just never put it on, but lost the instructions. Now I'm thinking of putting it in my car instead, it's about 5 inch's long x 1 inch high x 3/4 inch deep and has a combination clock, voltage meter, and outside temp. reading. With the sensor that you put outside to p/u the outside temp. it has 3 other wires (black, red, and orange). I figure black and red goes to grnd. and batt., but where does the orange wire go (ignition?) I hooked up the red and black to the batt., and the clock, volt meter and outside temp came on, but I guess I still need to know about the orange, anybody out there done this??
  24. Every other music has lasted only 8, 10, 12 years, Why is rap, the worse stuff I have ever hear, lasting so long. But I guess it isn't the music so much, if you don't live where rap music isn't, you have to bite your tongue and bear it.
  25. Steve, your bad............ouch. If I was chosen for the male calendar, I think I'd look my best if Arnold Swarztnagger (I know the spelling is wrong)..........was put under this good looking face.
