  1. The Patch is 3X4. Once they read it, they will know what it says from a mile away.
  2. Does anyone know where I can get one? or what other method lets you know when enough is enough oil in the final drive?
  3. Here is a link to the ebay seller and the patch. http://cgi.ebay.com/Biker-Humor-Patch-WHY-YES-F-CKIN-YAMAHA-/270607660678?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f01793686
  4. Just for my Harley riding friends, Its not really socially acceptable but it fits in well with this crew. They are all millworkers, and Im just their Foreman They treat me bad !! They shouldn't do that! It says Why Yes, It is a f---in Yamaha. I put it on the back of my vest because thats what they see most of the time
  5. Hi Rick, Your post does help, This bike is hard to center stand " I have a secret method I use here at home" but on the road its not nice to pull it onto the stand, The book recommends only adjusting the class system while on the center stand and no one sitting on the seat, it seems to be more accurate when done this way and probably a lot less stress on the pump and shocks. I was just wondering what others were doing and any affects that might have shown up from adjusting under a load. Rick
  6. on the center stand everytime you adjust the class system air pressures? I know the book says to do it that way ,but really do you do it everytime?
  7. I checked the Bubs site , it appears that they do not make pipes for the first gens. at least I couldn't find them.
  8. Wow! Glad that you made it home safely and you're right its hot down here, Next time through NM I hope you give me a call , as for the planned trip through Northern CA and southern Oregon coast, you will love it, I called Oregon home for 40 years and traveled those areas many times. again Glad you made it home safe.
  9. needs is short for necessity , if thats the case then its exactly what should happen no matter the road that gets you their. its called being healthy in both mind and body ! I wish you the best even though I know its brutal right now!
  10. New Mexico !! I would like to get some of the the things the east coasters have started here in the west !! Im going to run an ad in the local paper to see who I can bring together on a given weekend before the sept aspencade rally. the first event should be a good turn out to that rally here !
  11. We don't have a DQ anymore.
  12. Thanks for the info jason, I have yet to balance the carbs and Im quite a ways away from being comfortable enough to tear into them without some in person help, but being here where I am thats not likely to happen. The stealer here wants 125.00 to do the balance on the carbs, so Im looking for a set of gauges to do them myself. The mufflers actually don't sound bad to me but I think I would like to go back to stock when I can afford them.
  13. Its all better now, just a little battery connection problem! The class system is working great!!
  14. I re soldiered the connections on the circuit board for the class system errors I was getting, re installed the unit hooked up the battery turned the key to acc, the controller came on no errors showing sounds great so far but read on , switched it to manual and pushed increase, all the power on the bike went away except to the controller? I have no power to anything else. what the heck happened? I checked all the fuses, the main fuse looks ok through the window but it could be bad where I can't see it at.
  15. How important is the stock exhaust to how the Venture runs? The bike I have has had the exhaust changed for some short little after market mufflers, my fuel mileage sucks, around 30 ,31 to the gallon, does anyone think that the reduced back pressure of these after market mufflers could be part of or most of or any of the cause for such mileage and lack of low end power? The bike has a great top end, but the low end is a little less than I figure I should have with the bike, 3000 rpm and above its a fast accelerating monster, below that it accelerates but kinda on the soft side if you know what I mean.
  16. Wow!! does this bring back memories! It took 20 minutes to get married and 2 years to get divorced, and 5 years to rebulid, just make sure you have a list of what was yours before you married, the only things divideable are the maritial assets "those things aquired while married". other than that sit back enjoy the ride, smile as you lose all the crap you have accumulated and then ,plan ,build and exceed where you left off when you had the old ball and chain around your neck.
  17. Im 53 and just started riding the 1st gen a few months ago. I started riding when I was 12, I have gone through everything from dirt ,climbers, Harleys, and Goldwings, I will never stop riding brother!

  20. stereo speakers even when the sound system is off. I know this can't be good, the plug wires have the plastic sheathing on them and I don't see any spark jumping in the dark, but where else could it be coming from?
  21. Hell, take the fairing off and I would ride it to the store for beer.
  22. Allrighty then!! saw blades do not do neat work on flesh and bone, jagged edged cuts are the best you can hope for. Hope it heals well, you know thumbs are the only thing that seperates us from.... good job on the pics!!
