  1. Hello: I only rerouted the cables. Gained some slack under the tank. Someday I might install longer SS lines as some other members have done. Besides eliminating my neck and shoulder pain, I felt the new bars improved the slow speed handling of the bike. I reccommend keeping the bar end weights if you had them to begin with? They give you more length and also a place to rest your throttle hand when the cruise is engaged. Hope this helps?
  2. Hello: Thank you. These instructions were very helpful to me!
  3. Hello Everyone: I finally got around to posting before and after pictures of my Flanders Bars install on my 05 RSTD. Unmustang's directions are awesome!! I came up with another idea on the bar end weights. Check out the pictures in my "Album".
  4. Hello: I too had back and neck pain while piloting my 2005 RSTD. Could not find risers either. I also installed Flanders Pull back bars. Problem solved. I installed the bars with helpful info from this site. I was able to do so by just rerouting my cables rather than replacing them for now. I reccomend keeping the OEM bar weights if you already have them. Doing so gives you a few more inches of pull back and also gives you a place to rest your throttle hand without interfering with the throttle while the cruise is on..Hope this helps?
  5. Hello Deb: Glad I could help with the picture resizing. I can't take credit. Just passing on info that I got from "Hulign" just a few days before. Enjoy your ride!!
  6. Hello Everyone: I am trying to help another local rider. Does anyone have a set of bar end weights that were on a RSTD? Thanks....
  7. I purchased on 05 RSTD in 2009. Discovered similar back and neck pain on the very first ride. Flanders pull back bars solved the problem for me. Ride safe
  8. Hello: I do not play cards either and have not gone on a poker run for many years. However we recently went on a Polar Bear run (first ride of the season) and really enjoyed ourselves. Met some old friends, made some new ones. Raised some much needed funds for charity. Poker runs are usually just a way to get people together. Take care.
  9. Hello Everyone: The next add ons that I want to install on my 05 RSTD are Saddle bag gaurds that protect saddle bags themselves and also top rails for the lids. Does anyone have such items, or can provide the Yamaha OEM part numbers for such? Thanks in advance.
