Yes I rode the XC or Cross Country. What a fantastic bike, and probably my next bike. To bad it is not liquid cooled. Like you, I really wish mother yamie would be competative. Rode the Liners, and they are fast but just lacking other items, and basically on a softail frame. So for any long distance riding the RSV is yamies best. The XC really impressed me also, never thought I would have a bike come close to the RSV, but Victory did a very good job with the XC. Just my 2 cents. Later-

Hey, thanks Rick, that weight sounds about right 925 lbs., not the 869 lbs. they have in the book. Guys I think I am pretty close to those weights. Had a few Harley buds over when I took off the trunk on the RSV. My Harley bud was boasting that his trunk will way more than my jap trunk. We took his detachable trunk off his Ultra, and lifted each trunk, they felt the same weight. My Harley buds were surprised, a harley trunk weighs 45 lbs. As for fairing I can only guess, but at least 25 pounds, but with all the wiring, speakers, cassett (lol), etc. I bet it is somewhere around 40 lbs. Anyways thanks all, Later-

Hey all, while I have my 08 Harley up for sale, and of course so much to do in our Michigan Winter, I have been looking at the different bikes out there. I looked at the RSTD and compaired the wet weight 844, to the RSV wet weight 869. Does it make sence that their is only a 25 pounds difference? I have taken off the trunk to a RSV and to me it was around 40-50 lbs., then add a fairing which I guess would weigh another 40 lbs., and the difference from a 5.3 gallon tank on the RSTD, comparied to the 6 gallon tank on the RSV. The windshield on the RSTD will weigh around 10-15 lbs I'm guessing, so maybe that would be a off set for the difference of weight from the tanks sizes and filled with gas. When I look at other manufactures weight differences between bikes, the RSTD is correct at 844 lbs., but the RSV should weigh around 910 lbs. Just a thought, Later-

Hey All, had to pass up on a very good deal on a bike because I have not sold my 2008 Harley Heritage-105th Anniversary Edition. Have it posted for sale here and elsewhere. So I started thinking, I will Help You by Helping Me. I will give a $1000. discount to anyone from this site who buys my bike. Or if you send someone to me who buys my bike (make sure they mention who sent them, and your from this site) and I will discount it $500 to them and give you $500 for helping me sell it. Thought this is a pretty fair deal, considering I have already discounted it over $6000. http://www.victoryforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Thanks in advance everyone, Later-

Hey all, I test rode the Cross Country, XC as they say on Victory Forum. I thought it was a fantastic bike. Very Impressed with the handling, and lots of power. But I will be the first to say, the RSV is also a Fantastic Bike, by far the best motorcycle I have ever owned. I have missed my RSV since selling it to Old School (Great People). The XC or XCT (tour) out performed my H-D Heritage, especially in comfort, so if I sell my H-D my next bike will probably be a XC. Though I have thought about the Tour Deluxe and add a detachable fairing. To me the XCT seem to weigh more than the RSV, so that is a big concern for me. The things I didn't care for on the XC: First-Cost of Accessories, way to expensive. Second-Dealers Availability, though they are growing, a lack of dealers for repairs are still a concern, as there are thousands of Harley and Yamaha Dealers all over USA. Third-many guys on the Victory forums complain about engine noise and other little complaints. But as any new product I realize it takes some time to work out the kinks. Fourth-not liquid cooled. As far as the Victory forum compaired to this site, well, thats hands down here. I belong to several sites, and by far this site is #1 (Thanks Don). People here are great, friendly, and actually care enough to go out of their way to show it. That don't happen very often, so appreciated all. Later-

Great Job Don, catching those spammers! I have had alot of them trying to purchase the Harley I have for sale. Luckily, None are from this Site. It would have to be very frustrating for you having to deal with these IDIOTS. Thanks for keeping on top of it. Just like any crooks, if they would only put there expertise to good use. Later-

Appreciate the Great People on this site, even when they poke fun it is all in good humor. On the Victory Site, no humor, even the Administrator is a azzhole, it reminds me of a bunch of old school Harley Riders where anything but their bike and opinion does not count. The Cross Country is a nice bike, one guy on their said that on the highway the bike has a buzzing sound from the fairing. Took a five mile ride on one but they sent a chaperone with me, he realized he better just keep up, but not far enough to notice a buzzing sound. 2nd gear did seem a bit chunky, slow start, but then it moves out. Did like the gauges, but it was missing a 8-Track or Cassette Player. Later-

Hey All, road the Cross Country (XC on the Victory Forum), and was actually considering buying one. It has alot of power, and very smooth, almost like the RSV. Could not work out a deal for Trade In with my H-D,( low ball artist). One of my Worries is the simple fact that within 125 Miles of me 3 of 5 Victory Dealers have gone out of Business. From what I read on the Victory Forum is the Warranty is different from Canada to USA, so if you bought your bike in the USA and happen to be in Canada, they Will Not fix it. Also, you Have to take a Victory back to the Dealer you bought it from for Repairs, other Dealers Will Not honor the Warranty. So at least with my H-D or RSV you can take your newer bike to any Dealer and they will Fix it under Warranty. I did like the low center of gravity and it was quick. Nice bike, but Victory needs to work things out with their Dealers before I buy one. Later-

Hey All, went downstate to a Family Reunion and seen two different RSV's. Both bikes were Black Beauties, and looked nice. Sure made me miss my 03 RSV "Sweet Thing". After riding the Heritage this year I realize how little it is compaired to the massive and comfortable the RSV. So consider yourselves Lucky. Hope to see you all sometime soon. Later-

Hey All, went on a couple rides last weekend, put on about 550 miles on the Heritage. On a Group Ride yesturday of 300 miles we stopped at a DQ. One of riders asked Charlene and I how we liked the Heritage: Charlene said, No Room to move around, so tight I won't go anywhere. I said, "To be Honest, it is no Yamaha Venture". I could ride all day on the RSV, but after a 100 miles I am sore on the Heritage. Even put a signature series seat on the Heritage, but no help. With my back problems the weight of the Heritage is all I can handle, especially two up. Now don't get me wrong the Heritage has a lot of nice features, and the 105 year edition is a beautiful bike. But, I have always said the RSV is the best bike I have ever owned! Guess it is, what it is, but Sadly miss my "Sweet Thing" RSV. Later-

Hey Freebird, Love to come to that party again. What a good time. If I do it won't be on the 03 RSV, because it has a new owner-Old School. Let me tell you, I miss my "Sweet Thing"!!! But still hoping to come if affordable. Son getting married this weekend. Our Anniversary next week. Well, let me say, the money thing would be tight. But have no fear I still have the camping gear, and lots of asprin for in the morning. Hope to see you soon, Later- P.S. Hey, were is Squidley in this conversation .

Thank You Brad for putting the route Ray is taking. We are playing phone tag, but it sounds like he is making good time and enjoying the new RSV. Later-

Hey All, my "Sweet Thing" has found a new owner, and home in TX. Yesturday Evening, Old School heading back home to TX from Northern Michigan. I will miss that Beautiful 03 RSV. Best Motorcycle I have ever owned!!! I know Ray wouldn't ask, but ...he has a long way to go, and is tight on time and money. A stayover at one of our members might help him out. It would also be great if some VR members jumped on their bikes and rode with him a bit. Later-

Hey Dennis, hope the 07 RSV sells quick for you. I have been trying to sell or basically give away my 03 RSV for awhile, just a tough market right now. I would almost sell the trailer seperate, because like on my bike, the thousands I have in Accessories does not mean anything. Good Luck, with whatever you ride, always welcome here. Later-

Steve, Our Thoughts and Prayers are for your Family! We all hope they find her safe and well!

Hey, yes like many here, I also own a second bike. Love them both! The RSV is the smoothest and Best bike I have ever owned. But, the Harley is easier for me to handle with my back problems. Each one has their own special advantages. It will be a sad day when I sell my RSV (give someone a great deal), but unfortuantly I can only afford one at this time. Later-
