Yah! I'm thinking lack of adequite anti freeze, and either a soft plug blew or a hose ruptured, both of which will give you the stated symptom. Hoefully you did not overheat too badly and did some damage to the engine...

Welcome to the rolling barcolounger crowd!! Good choice on the 2nd gen Venture, they are more comfortable than a 1st gen, but not as quick and nimble. I too am blessed with a wife that loves to ride. Unfortunately I still have another year and a half to go until retirement. I'm a Vietnam vet but haven't had the opportunity to make the run for the wall yet but will after I retire. Welcome to the zoo!!

Well, I finally fired it up yesterday. The fuel pump went click click, and a shot of eather and it fired and ran for about 10 seconds. Wouldn't start again but tried to. Pulled one of the plugs and they are all black and in need of rewplacement, so I bought a new set last night. I'm a little concerned that the fuel pump isn't clicking any more, which could mean it gave up the ghost, or all 4 needle valves are stuck shut, or the screen on the gas tank is clogged. The fuel filter is new. I plan on replacing all the vacuum lines so it will be a few days before I try to start it again. I just don't trust 27 year old rubber and before I go to sell it I want it to be in new and reliable condition. I may end up pulling the gas tank and "creaming" it. I have a spare tank so I may do that tank first so I can pull the one and immediately put in the new one. Then I can treat the tank I take out to use on the '85. Still didn't resolder the dash yet but will after I go back to work Monday. I can "borrow" a bottle of flux from work to resolder or try to sweet talk one of the solderers at work to do them for me as my vision isn't what it used to be. I'm glad I gave up Electronics as a career and switched to hydraulics as oit was getting to be a problem even 15 years ago. Sorry, no pictures today but I will have more the next time...

As long as you can register it! Sometimes with recovered vehicles there is no title, other times it has to be registered as a salvaged vehicle and some states won't let you do that...

Yah! Just post a lot here, spend some time in chat, attend a few M&E's, and the next thing you know, you will know enough people here to spend an entire year on the road and never have to pay for a room!! They may even feed you too!! Seriously, you will find this bunch a very friendly and giving group and many members do indeed open their homes for other members. If you are planning a trip just post your intentions here in advance and you will most likely get several offers!

I dunno, Tom, I might actually have to go out and shovel the driveway tomorrow, can't see the concrete any more. Why, it's almost 1/4 up to the hubcaps now!! Hope I dson't have to actually start the snowblower finally... SC89Venture I work for Moog in the Aircraft Division. Moog isn't the nice place it used to be but it is still a decent place. Yup. the Club 747 went out with Disco!

Why do you ask?? Is your garage door going down then immediately coming up again? If so, the ground under the door has buckled and rose from freezing. Yes, it can lift concrete up slightly. You may have to adjust the limit switch a little so it stops sooner...

I bought my '09 S for 17,300 in '09 and that was below retail, dealers cost was 16,500 or thereabouts, reatil was 18,XXX can't remember the exact. Sooo, if it is a brand new scoot with zero miles or so, it probably is worth it. Welcome aboard and hope to meet ya some time!!
