They are #3 phillips if I recall right, and they are loctited in. Give the screws some heat first but carefully. I used a hammer on the screwdriver head and vice grips on the screwdriver shaft to get them out. Yes, an impact driver helps... -
Yup! That was him!!!

But Tom, you wanted a bigger entrance for Lily didn't you?? Besides then you can build an addition for her...

Trouble starting when damp

Better question, did you inspect the coil ends for green deposits when you changed the coil wires? Yes, the connector plug from the pickup coils could be corroded as well. Now, the question being, when you relocated your TCI, did you pop the cover off and bake it in the oven for a while to remove any accumulated moisture? If so, when you reinstalled the cover did you coat the seam with vasoline or grease to waterproof it?? -

True!! I just meant they both have them!!! -
Good luck to you and certainly will remember you in my prayers! Hope you can resume riding, I'm sure a good deal will come your way when the time is right!!!

Yes I am, thanks for asking Rick!! Surgery went well, some minor discomfort post op but tylenol fixed that. Went into surgery at 9AM left the hospital around noon. Other than a ringing in the one ear and a cotton ball in it I'm doing fine today. Found out I won't return to work until next Wednesdasy at the earliest!! Great!!! That means work 3 days, have a long weekend, and then come back to retire!!! I have to limit my activities for a few days though. Life is good...

Now there is a possibility we can't make it, depending on how well my ear recovers between today and Friday...

Thunderbird email help with 'Add security exception' screen
bongobobny replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Me thinks either you've been hacked, or the screen is an attempt to be hacked! Is there a way you can communicate with Thunderbird about this??? ID theft is a nasty thing... -
There ya go!! Costs more than that to ship a trike back and forth just one time! I'm sure you could find a member who would be glad to "store" it and make sure it is running right...

Where did they put the cassette deck???

Soliciting Observatrions: 1st Gen vs. 2nd Gen
bongobobny replied to csherer's topic in Watering Hole
I agree with your observations, but also agree with all the comments that your front end needs fixing!!! If anything, my 2nd gen was more stable for shimmy than my stock 1st gen was. New tires and wheel bearings along with a super brace fixed up my 1st gen. Check the air pressure in both front shocks. Check the front tire for cupping. Check the neck bearings for proper tightness... -
You can't even buy a triwing kit that cheap...

Post Retirement September Trip To Mt. Rushmore
bongobobny replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks Dave!!! No strict timetable so if we have to detour no problem! Yah, we should have time to get together for a coffee or meal or whatever... -
Thank you all!! Technically I do not retire for a couple of weeks from now, dut I'm off all this week on disibility, I have a perforated eardrum that they are doing a skin graft on tomorrow. The folloowing week I am only working, errrr, showing up four days then taking Friday off. When I return Tuesday after Labor day I say Sayonara to the place and hopefully hit the road Wednesday!! Rickster knew about the surprise Birthday/Retirement party for me last night! Becky pulled off the perfect surprise with a little help from her co conspiritors who also just happen to be members on this site. It worked, total surprise to me, even though I saw Big Tom, Motorcycle Tom, Buffalo Bodner, and Adventurers bikes in the lot. We were supposedly going to a retirement party for a fellow co worker who is still on vacation but is never coming back once he burns off his 3 months of saved vacation, and knowing the 4 of them sometimes ride together and they like that particular restaurant anyways I thought it was just a sheer coincidence that they would be there as well! Rounded the corner into the room and was greeted with a big "Surprise!!!" The Count got the furthest distance award but was not the only International guest. Wizard765 was also in attendance. There was also people from our church, my Brother-in-law and other friends! Sure was a great time! Don't let Father Time fool you, he knew about the party but unfortunately couldn't make it. That's OK Carl, there will be others. Becky's birthday is next month! Hmmmmmm...
