Absolutely, Horsepower is ...well horsepower. I dont really differentiate between the 2 modes of transportation, I could believe that I was a Cowboy in a past life....or a Caveman

Yep....Here too L4 L5 degenerative discs and I have had it so bad (like a month ago) that I couldn't even walk. Every morning I stretch at work for about 15 minutes before we have out maintenance meeting, and then again before I go home. Sure do wish that God would have made the human body like a car with new replacement parts

Good for you Lou...but you know that, you can check out anytime you like....but you can never leave. I might actually take one of the Harleys out next year to compare them to the RSV, I love the Venture, but Yamaha is irritating me quite badly with their arrogance on changing the bike. We look forward to seeing it sometime soon.

No...No bike, it hasn't hardly got out of the 40's for highs and has been at freezing for lows. Memphis really took the wind out of my sails as we pounded the miles and froze coming home. I'll be bringing the wagon down...with heat You absolutely get to pick where it goes Bobbie, that was never a stipulation. I will say though go with a place that has a lot of meat area. Mine will be on my upper right arm, dont go with a boney area as that will hurt more.

Question regarding Front Brake feel
Squidley replied to MickO's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mick, If you want to adjust the throw of the lever there is a phillips head bolt with a locking nut on it that you can adjust in or out to get it to feel like you want. You might want to try that and see if it cures your problem as far as the feel goes. Once you take anything apart it will always feel different as components move around and never go back exactly as they were. -
In my 1st marriage we ended up buying a grandfather clock, looked almost identical to what you have there with the moon phases and all. It was made by Howard Miller out of Zeeland Michigan. Perhaps you could get ahold of them and see if they can steer you in the right directions with some of your questions?

Looking forward to it Art

There isn't anything less painful when Snarly Bill is involved! I do hope you can make it my friend, it would be nice to see you twice this year

Good to see you have jumped right in and introduced yourself. You'll find a lot of information here and great folks that are very willing to help out when they can. If your not busy on November 8th you might want to come out and see 2 of us get some ink, here's the thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28828 Hope to see you on the site often, enjoy it

The avons are a 50 lb tire, so he's not actually over inflated. I did find that the 150 front tire is more stable on the super slabs at speed when it's a bit windy out. That was my biggest complaint with the 130 when we did our big trip out west on '06. The bike was blown all over the place in windy conditions...I didn't care for that feeling. I haven't had the sensation nowhere near as bad with the 150 on the bike.

It will be good to finally meet you and the old salt Uhhhmmmmm....NO! Were taking the car as the weather up here is getting ugly very fast

You didn't bore us with your story, it's good to hear that you had a cool trip up north (I personally want to be headed south) Your spot on with your observations the RSV is an awsome long range bike. We went to Memphis TN last weekend for the St. Judes donation and put on almost 1800 miles in 58 hours. Thats extreme but the bike made it possible, wouldn't be many other machines I would try that on

I'll have to check it out in more detail this weekend, Thanks for the link

You better show up mister! It's been way too long since we have seen you

Dennis, If you could see right through them they aren stock as someone has already removed the 2 baffle plates in them. I would actually get that set of slash cut ones if they are like that and in good shape as your work would be done. You also have a PM

Let my brains settle down Bill and I'll put my thinking cap on and we'll figure something out...Yeah I know wide open on that one

Thank you for all that you have done, and continue to do for Mark and his family Lewis. You are a very rare breed in this day and age and I'm very proud to be able to call you my friend.

The 130 is good if your inseam challenged as you wont have to raise the bike at all. I had one on my 2nd '99 and I didn't like how it handled at highway speeds. I went back to the 150 and installed level links and all was well with the world again
