  1. Hummingbird 13,600,000 results - probably never find me there - but, look in my profile
  2. here's a place to start looking - they're about 20 minutes from me. I'm betting you'll find a set there http://stores.ebay.com/PinWall-Cycle-Parts-Inc
  3. Looks to me like a design engineer was given free reign but he just happend to be smokin' the wacky tobaccy and got carried away with his feminine side I guess I could have just said that I didn't like it but where's the fun in that ??
  4. that looked good enough that even a dummy like me might be able to do it. 'course I'm not going to try 'til Squidley is around to fix it for me
  5. Evidently on some models you have to order the turn signals and I'm betting that she also got one of those models. I've seen many of those on the road
  6. I don't know how Florida PO operates but here in Ohio, your local PO will tell you where you can ( and can't) place your delivery box. I'm not a postal worker but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express 2 months ago.
  7. you had better get that 1800 back to the dealer - it sounds like you didn't get the letter for the recall on the defective odometers - it's common defect with a number of motorcycles especially in nice weather. it's most common in northern states as spring approaches. My first suggestion is to keep an eye on your fuel guage as you will find it reading incorrectly as well. What I mean is that you will probably need to re-fuel twice a week instead of maybe once. Good luck with your problem and try to enjoy your trip home each day.
  8. isn't it odd that they can leave a notice to clean the area but can't leave the mail ? just sayin'
  9. I already have a MacBook Pro that is partitioned w/XP Pro. Wanted to get away from the partition -
  10. I'm not EXACTLY sure what happened to it - but I tried a restore to an earlier date to no avail, so I just reloaded filezilla and started over. It was surely my error because it's a well known fact that windows is bullet proof Seriously, I had to have done something, don't have a clue what but I got it all back and running by a reload and an hour or so going thru the site. I still have my back up lap top, a MacBook Pro, with all of the data still intact so if it gives me any more trouble, I'll just be forced to look at a 15" screen instead of a 17". The really aggravating thing is that there's not a thing wrong with the back up, I just HAD to have a newer, bigger, better? lap top.
  11. I bought a new Dell Inspiron R17 w/windows 7 - really getting tired of it I'm just about ready to buy a full version of XP Pro and install. I don't care about anything except running a particular program that I just had to reload because it disappeared this morning Problem is it takes nearly 2 hours to re-load :bang head: The question is - can I load XP Pro on this Dell ?
  12. Kumho on the rear = 54lbs pressure = comfort = no wobble
  13. I agree that the wing has it with regard to the rear tire but that is the ONLY maintenance item where it shines - try taking your side bags off - or how about changing the air filter ?? nuff said -
  14. what does age have to do with it ??
  15. OUCH !! Taking the wheel off is not really a big deal - I'm no where near a mechanic, usually can't even say the word but general work on the Venture is a PLEASURE ! buy a wing and do the same things - if your hair isn't falling out now, it will be when you start taking a wing apart.
  16. I had everything off my Venture when I painted it - except the fender. That looked like a lot of unnecessary work for the paint job. For replacement of the fender, I believe you will have to take everything off the back end just to get to it. time consuming - not really hard how much is your deductible ?? if it's only $100 I wouldn't mess with it -
  17. try a set of RK's at the first or second stage - I had a set of Bub's or something similar, basically all they were was a set of hollow chrome tubes. Didn't like them at all so I got RK's and drilled the plug out at both ends, sounds GREAT !!
  18. from what I've read - it seems that the ones that tried a CT and went back to a MT are ones that are intent on pushing the envelope with regard to HARD riding. I say hard but I guess the real description would be anything other than cruising at legal speed limits and cornering at cruiser as opposed to cornering like a road racer on a closed course. I really like my Kumho, it has a comfortable ride for MY style of riding. A CT WILL NOT fit everybody because of their style of riding.
  19. that looks like one of the high maintenance models -
  20. yep - I've seen some really nice ones on the net for $6000 to $8000 - just can't make myself do it when I already have a Venture sitting idle. Just one more thing I wouldn't ride.
  21. the mot sensible thing to do would be to check around your zip code and see what like bikes are selling for. Can't use ebay asking, have to see what they are actually selling for.
  22. Bill - sure would like to see some pics - even in construction. My first REAL motorized vehicle was a Cushman Eagle back in 1957. Occasionally I go to anywhere on the net just to look at them, can't make myself pay the price for another one. Good on you for restoring such a neat scooter
  23. I have a friend that makes home-made ice cream with an old JD one lunger - http://www.schlonegers.com/ I get a freezer or 2 from him every year ( a freezer is = to about 5 gallons )
  24. Oh, and I actually love that plaid design. Pretty unique if nothing else. : ) I'll go with the unique
  25. never seen one like that - does it crank up ?
