  1. After how do you tell if the gaskets are shot? How do you remove the "Y" shaped elbows coming from the rear cylinders going to the collector? As in: out of the frame
  2. snatch those puppies and let me know where, I was quoted $250 for a full set of OEM and $160 for just the collector.
  3. One day I am going to ride like that http://bikerpunks.com/mediaviewer/523/this-motorcycle-police-can-handel-his
  4. I think we are right around 30 now so: what about the guys who just recently purchased a set for full face value? Are you wanting to re-imurse them the difference?? Or do you want to limit folks to one unit each, so more people can benefit? If there are 25 units with connectors the first 25 people get one unit each, you want more, buy your connectors elsewhere. and if someone finds my response "insensitive", you can have mine.
  5. Mike, I have two different racks, the one on the blond is mine. measures 19-3/8X9 w. a 3x9-1/2 bolt pattern. the other one is similar to what you have: 20-5/8x9 w. a 4-7/8x9-5/8 bolt pattern. More or less
  6. I've gone through the partial burning headlight bit and resoldered the cirquit. I double checked that a couple of weeks ago when I re-did all the contacts in there. The computer module does not show an error! Having said that, I got caught in a downpour and stopped under an overpass, when i crancked the bike back up I had no dashlights or head light. Running lights, accesory lights and tail light all worked. I assumed a blown fuse so I replaced that at my destination. Turned the key to check they were working, got a flash like a blown bulb and nothing. Still had driving lights so I figured I'd run those on the way home. When it was time to leave I cranked the bike up, no low beam as expected; wondered about high beam and that came on, switched back to low beam and that came on! What gives?? Since then I've had both low and high beam, I've had no lights at all and I've had the dash warning light on with both the low and/or high beam crapping out part ways. A couple of times rocking the switch seems to have "fixed" it but not always. I've got an oversized fuse in the panel now and the poles seem to be getting pretty warm. Not real keen on pulling the computer again. Seems like a power drain/short somewhere but have no clue where to start or how to find it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  7. I've got one like it but need to replace one 'cause the insides are broken (won't hold a bulb anymore) I glued mine in with silicone. I'm looking for a replacement of the original or I am going to buy some surface mounted ones. If you want to get rid of your good one, let me know?! On a side note: i am looking for one (1) LED (preferred) type low profile or small driving light. If you have one please let me know. Thanks!
  8. Last post/write up I saw about this was this one from Skydoc17: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32052]Ebay Carb. Diaphragm Replacement! - VentureRider.Org[/ame] don't mean to Highjack the thread, but mostly add to the discussion! I suspect carb problems on my '83 (e.g. it wants to shut off when idling, does not want to spool up when pulling away from a stop) so I pulled the easiest to access carb cover on right rear. I have not pulled the diaphram, but I did find a sheen of liquid inside the white plastic "tube" and on the outside of the diaphram. It has a blackish tint as though from a wear/friction point. also it would seemthat the small "o" ring at the bottom was hard and flat on one side. Does the liquid on the outside of the diaphram indicate pin holes? Does the kit come with the "o" rings?
  9. added two naked pics. Removed the frame from the shell so I can clean/paint/powder coat it and get an axle for the wheel. Thinking about changing to air shocks as well. Still need to pull the liner(carpeting) from the body, It smells foul!! suppose I could paint after that, but still need to modify the mounting hardware. Still, as easy as it is to drop the frame in the shell that might be an option Oh, Steve, if I would go for the quick and dirty i could have it up and running by Vogel:sun:. Ain't gonna happen:no-no-no: haven't even looked at POA for the bike!
  10. Steve!!! ... I just got it in Monday and finished un crating today!! Give me a couple more days OK??
  11. Well, here she is. Took a while but we made it. There are some more pics :photographing:in my gallery. Now to disassemble clean, paint/powedercoat and attach. This is a third generation Equalean. it was actually build by Mark Jamison after the Wallicks disappeared from the scene (he worked for them). Mark incorporated some changes, hence the "third generation". I'd say, "feel free to ask anything you want to know" but I've got to do some studying myself:doh:, I'll answer what I can. Assuming anyone's got questions.
  12. I installed a set of old foglights from one of my trucks. amber beam 50 watt. My regulator/rectifier does not always like them when it warms up. Voltage will drop and not come back up after having to come to a stop (plus it is in consistent) I have them pointed a tad high, so they are very visible)
  13. They are out of stock and do not know when they will be able to restart production. something about suppliers. They are refunding unfilled orders and not even giving a tentative restock date. Should i read that as "we're out of business"
