He answered a pm from me about a month ago about my tci. Turns out his setup only deals with the 83-89 tci boxes. David -
Looking for a TCI

make sure of the year. I found out the hard way. Now asw for youryear there are usually a few on ebay. Also pinwall cycle on ebay is a real good plce to start. Mine is a 91 and a 88 wouldn't work in mine only 90-93 . I think 83 -85 but not sure and 86-89. Hope this helps. David -
My 91 Vr has 64,000 and cou ting up every day. I'm getting about 43 as of the other day.Was only getting 20 before muffinman lent me his tci box. found out the bike was only running on 3 cylinders and still outran the second gens, all Harleys it got up against and 1 hyobusa 1300. These things are like old tanks. Through whatever you want at em, they'll love it and ask for more. Welcome tomthe forum. David

Personally I shoot a Hoyt magnatech.Love the Hoyt line up. If you have a reputable bow shop in your area the best way to find out what works for you is to go there and tell them your problems with your shoulder. they will point you in the wright direction.Alos you could check your local laws on the legality of cross bows. Here in my state (North Carolina) they just made it leagal for anyone to hunt with a crossbow. With or without a handicapped permit. Matthews is a sweet bow but tend to be a little heavy to get over the hump. My magnatech is an older bow but pulls even throughout. guess it would be best to try and see. But make sure the shop is there for you and not themselves. Good luck with what ever you by. David

The only time I hear any thinignabout status is when my bike is sitting still. Just today i had a group of Harley riders tell me that the vr was a nice bike and wanted to know how I let her get so dirty. Turns out the guys shine their bikes more than they ride them .MOst of those guys admited that they only put about 1 -2 thoisand miles a year on their bikes. Iwas on a 200 mile turn around trip in the day. David

As my mirror on the right side fell of the bike in my hand today while I was trying to adjust it I figured what the hack I'll atempt to fix it instead of buying a new one. Turned out pretty good. First I removed the glass from the black retainer buy using an exacto knife to remove the front edge as i found out the glass is not glued in. Second I removed the black retainer by taking out 3 small phillips screws. Third I drilled out the bracket still on the bike to let a 1/4 inch by 1 1'2 screw pass through. Then installed the base of the mirror with the 1/4 in screw using two 1/4 inch washer on the inside of mirror. Pic will show 6 but had to take back apart becouse the black retainer wouldn't go back in place with all 6 washers.Next was the black base screwed back in place followed by the glass. As I removed the retaining ring with the exacto knife I used 5 minute epoxy to hold the mirror in place. I'll post back tommorow as to how well this holds up as we have a ride planned for a couple of hours by the Petty Museum. Hope this works as well as I think it will as it was easy enough for a non mechanic like me to do. Just take your time with the removal of the glass so as not to break it. David

Where are you planning to travel this summer?
painterman67 replied to Yama Mama's topic in Watering Hole
Well for sur ethe wife and I are going to mini aheville. MOre than likely a few rides in the Blue ridge Nad probably a trip or two to kerr lake. All of those will be on the bike plus a few in the Nantahala Gorge to raft out of the cage. Let us know when you plan on hitting the Blue ridge and who knows we might be able to meet yoWe live close and have ridding the entire parkway in the cage so now for the bikes. david -
While your there take a ride through the Nantahla gorge. Beautiful scenery along the Nantahala river and you can stop at the falls and watch the rafters. there are a couple of good resteraunts at the falls also although on the expensive side for me. When are you going to be there, We are going up in June to fart, July to mini asheville, And again in sept. to raft. Maybe we can meet up and at least put a few names to faces. david

It finally got here about 9 or 10 last night. Now we have anywhere from 4 -6 inches on the ground. Not much but just enough for my company to pull the trucks of the road. So guess I'll play on the computer all day. David

Don't Tread on Me
painterman67 replied to knifeeven's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
no expirience with either, but from what I've read and peaple I've talked to when Inreplace my metzlers I will go with the avon venoms. David -
Ok thanks folks . been watching a set of fogg toggs go on and off of sale at Gander Mountain. I was always told to listen when expirience speeks so as soon as I can the ft"s will be purchased. Only reson I was considering the three season set up is the ones I was looking at were water proof and also offerd the body armor. It's been 20 years since I laid one down at 65 mph and the armor saved me from injury. Of that i feel positive. I slid 100 ft and didn't get a scratch. This is my first bike since then and I'm still a little aprehensive. With each ride the fear for lack of a better word lessons to just a small nag. Hope I'm not being paranoid , as it took a long time to get back on. Thanks for the input. David

Waiting on it here. Snow is supposed to be here later on today. Depending on who youo listen to anywhere from 3 -10 inches are expected. Hope for the best and expect the worst. David

just kicking the idea around for wet weather gear and was looking for opinions. I know how varied the opinions on this site are, but still willing to risk it. AS I dont have any gear with body armor yet I am thinking of getting a 3 season jacket and pants set with body armor. Either that or use Frogg toggs over my leather gear that I presently own. Chaps and jacket no armor. All opinions are welcome as my mind isn't made up yet. Thanks for any input in advance. David

do you have any ideas of what to include? David
