probably a dumb question , but I'll ask it anyway. On a 91 vr will the bikes speakers and the headset speakers play at the same time?? WHen I have the headset button pressed the bikes speakers are not playing and when I dont have the headset button the bikes speakers play but not the headset. Just wandering if they both playor if its ine or the other. Thanks in advance, David

Works for me just let me know when and I'll try to work it out. I f not another time. As of now I'm setting 2 hrs from home in a motel due to work. Thanks for the offer and I'll take care of the food and beverages if we can work it out. David -
if I didnt already have plans for that week I would ride my 1st gen there. Besides as fast as 1st gen are we would be there stayed a while and left before the second gen coukld get out of 1st gear. Kidding aside that falls on an anual family trip. Maybe one year we can talk the family into another date. David

Fuse Block for IH Truck Guy

Looks nice there Squideley. SO when are you going to Texas and do you want to take a trip through NC to get there. I'm electrically retarded so you could install one for me if you are feeling you are feeling grcious. Wel installing one would be the wrtong words. How about schooling me on what to do. I dont mind doing the work just have no idea how to do it. All jokes aside I do hope the job hunt and potential move is coming along well. David -

great news and the prayers will keep rolling on. The docs cant heal him but god can if he wants. God bless David

glad to here he is ok. For a quick and in some cases permanent fix you coould (on the plastic 90) instead of remmoving and replaceing, slightly sand, clean with denatured alcohol and apply liberal amount of oatrteys plastic pipe mend. The type you pinch of an amount and mix by hand by rolling in your palm. DOnt ask me how I know. Hope this works, Gald no one was hurt more than pride. DAvid

Help, wifes Virago is using a lot of oil
painterman67 replied to raceman62race's topic in General Tech Talk
Hey there John, I dont remeber an excess amounbt of smoke when she cranked it to leave. And from the sound of it it is an after market exhaust. Dont remeber a virago sounding that good. Hope all comes out well. As you seen I'm not much of a mechanic. David -
ok I went down there to check on this bike today. It was well maintained from what I could see. No scrathes or dings that I could find . The bike started wright up on first try and I had already chercked the headers to make sur eit was cold so no cheating cranking a cold bike. NO noticeable vibrationswhen sitting on the bike and all the options worked as they should as far as I could tell. Dealor said his best deal would be in thge $12,000.00. I'm a 1st genner myself so not sure if this is a good price or not. Big downside is this prticular dealor does not allow test rides. Something about their insurance want allow them to they had someone crash on a test ride and now that is what the insurance company says. Previous owner as I was told was original owner and added lost of extras. I was told about $5 grand worth but again I dont know the price of 2nd gen goodies but it does have a lot of extras from what I could see. I was told previous owner traded for a new 1800 wing so he and his wife could do a cross coumtry ride. Not sur eif this helps you guys as I am unfamiliar with the 2nd gens. Oh yeahn I also checked the headers after it ran a little and all four were evenly warm. Stock exhust was a little quiet for mee too. David

tehy have a lot of wings on their lot used too. And its no prob I'm on my way there in a little bit anyways to check a job. David

What cruising speed are you comfortable at
painterman67 replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Watering Hole
I guess that depends on if Im with the wife or by myself or with the vr goup. The wife and I tend to be a litle slow as she likes to site see. I tend to ride about 5 to ten over by myself and just recently on a M&E ride it was closer to 15 to 20 over with a trailer aboard. David- 51 replies

when I do carry and its not often, I put the pistol in the tank bag. It is inserted into the bag using my left hand as to make it easier to get to and still have throttle control. David

Weird Vibration
painterman67 replied to Flyinfool's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
another thing you could check is the plugs and wires. New wires helped mine quite a bit and everytime I ran seafome on a heavy dose I tended to foul the plugs. Sometimes they would only foul slightly and burn clean in a tank or two. But once it was real bad fouled and I had to replace the plugs . Hope this helps David- 19 replies
