  1. OK folks. I just talked to the manufacturer. He is going to cast the bells today and try to get them shipped tomorrow. Please go to this thread for ordering instructions and prices. I was able to maintain the same prices as before so the posted information is good. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17406
  2. The only decals that I have are the domed decals listed in the VentureRider Merchandise forum. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39088
  3. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it or not but a week or two ago, I changed the classifieds from using an "Advanced WYSIWYG" editor to a more basis WYSIWYG editor. The advanced editor had some bugs that I couldn't get resolved. It is possible that the ad was placed before I changed the editor and now gets screwed up with the new editor. I wouldn't think that would have caused it but it's the only thing I can think of right now. There was actually no "shuffling" of the ads. The ads were never removed from the old classifieds and then later put back. It was simply re-activated.
  4. Well, I don't have an IPAD and I don't use Safari but I just tested it on my laptop using IE 9 and Firefox 7 and both worked as they should.
  5. Pictures and last pricing is in this thread. I HOPE that pricing will still be OK but won't know until I talk to the manufacturer. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17406
  6. I"ve had a couple of requests for Guardian Bells. I am out of them at this time and am thinking about having some more made. I just need to know how much interest there is.

I received this by email and thought it was pretty good. http://www.theinspiration.com/2011/09/carlsberg-stunt-in-cinema/
  8. Grooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr
  9. I think you may be better off to sell the Bushtec and then find what you need. I think you will be hard pressed to find such a specialty item to trade for. Bushtec does make a trailer that is especially designed for dogs but I doubt it would be large enough for yours. Heck, if it is, you could easily modify what you already have as it is basically the same trailer. http://www.bushtec.com/Articles.asp?ID=164
  10. Yes, I wasn't at that one but I've been to several of their rallies. They used to be officially sponsored by Yamaha until the quick making the Venture after 1993. They are still around under the Motorcycle Touring Association but their numbers are way off now. I get more folks at my maintenance day that they get to their rallies now. It's a shame because they had, still have, some great members. There is still a chapter here that I am a member of but I get with them very rarely. Great group of folks though.
  11. Now you go to your room young man and don't come out until you have pictures.
  12. LOL.......like THAT wouldn't get heated too.
  13. You can download the manual for free in the First Gen Tech Library. As for the lights, I honestly don't remember. It was a long time ago that I owned my '88. I'm sure somebody will jump in here and help though.
  14. Are you CRAZY? Look at the economics of this. Buy enough beer for V7Goose or take it to a dealer...hmmmm..... Seriously, you would be doing yourself a big favor to take him up on that offer. He knows these bikes inside and out.
  15. Sometimes I HATE my no politics rule. When I read crap here that is just completely untrue from people who have no idea what they are talking about in regards to the healthcare system in the USA. Could it be better? Of course it could. All I will say though...is.... I'm sure glad that I live in the USA. This thread is close to being deleted.
  16. No, you are exactly right. Resistors are NOT directional. Diodes are.
  17. I know that a lot of folks agree with you and always leave it on reserve but I'm not one of those people. I simply don't pay enough attention and often never see the light come on. There have been several times when my first warning was when the engine started losing power. Then I just reach down and switch it to reserve. Maybe I would notice it soon enough but I like having that extra warning.
  18. The battery warning light is simply an indicator that they electrolyte lever is low in the battery. It could be that you actually just need to add some distilled water to the battery cells or it could be a bad connection in the circuit. If it is an original setup, there is a probe that inserts into a hole in the top of the battery that causes the light to come on if the liquid gets low. It could also be that somebody replace the battery with one that does not have a hole for the probe. That is very common as most of us prefer the newer sealed type batteries. If that is the case, here are instructions for bypassing the warning circuit. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  19. Yes, that is a very common problem. First of all though, you should know that it is only designed to work with the key in the ACC position. You cannot change the air pressure with the bike running. That being said though, you should still not be getting the E4 error. Here is a write up on that issue. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493
  20. Good post but I found one thing different on my '99. Mine had nut welded on at both mounting locations. All I had to do was move the trunk back and reinsert the bolts. One thing I need to say here though. The Venturers, in the past, have gotten real upset if anybody posts any of their tech articles here. I may well have to remove your post.
  21. Randy, With all the surgeries, radiation, injections and etc. I have had done on my right eye over the past couple of years, I can honestly say that I understand how you feel. I hope and pray that you will regain full vision in the eye. I will also say though, having lost all the vision in my right eye, that though it takes some getting used to it is not the end of the world by any means. You are a strong person and will do fine my friend.
  22. Honda had a coupe of them. One was a 400 I think and the other was a 750. Here is one that I bought and sold a couple of years ago. This was the 750.
  23. Got it. Very interesting. Now I don't know what the truth really is. Apparently they are only selling reconditioned or "left over" models. The latest they show is 2009. They say that production is "idle" waiting on the economic climate to improve. No mention of a lawsuit although I don't guess that is something that they would want to advertise.
  24. Are you sure they are out of business. They still have them on their website.
  25. and a one...and a two...and a......................
