  1. Friend of mine bought an "08" Venture "S". Lot's of shine. I did see some shine that I would like to get for my "06". I tried the Yamaha website for accessories to no avail. Attached a photo of the part I would like to find chromed. Does any know if Yamaha sells this part, or do would I have to get it chromed myself? Thanks
  2. I especially like the last one. http://www.mac-pac.org/temp/motivation.html
  3. Wayne, And what would that do for your Zumo 550?
  4. Well the wife is going to buy me a satellite radio for my "06" Venture for my birthday. Oh boy. Was thinking on getting the radio and installation kit with the bracket all in one. As usual I come to this great site to see what you guys can recommend. If anyone has pics on what they have on their bikes that would be nice. Thanks
  5. I have never seen lighting on the crash bars, can someone post a picture of their bike with the lighting mentioned. Thanks
  6. Anyone remember where that thread was that gives you the part numbers of the bolts and knobs to order from McMaster Carr to fix up quick release for the side bags? Thanks
  7. As a former Michigander and now Texan I appreciated the read and the photo's.
  8. Brought mine new Dec "05" and have not had the valve's adjusted. The bike has 57 thousand miles now. Runs great, but the thought of having this done keeps popping in my head. Wanted to get some feed back from ya'll to see if this is something that needs done. Does it void your warranty not having it done?
  9. I have an XXL tinted with the vent. The only thing I dont like about mine is the rain rolls to the edge of the shield and turns on the edge and beads up on the inside of the shield. Quite a bit too. Any ideas of how to prevent this? Does anyone else have the same problem?
  10. I have an "06" that I recently changed the plugs on and noticed the left side air box had alot of oily residue inside as well as around the carbs. I also had oil hitting where you are from your second photo. I had been putting a little to much oil in when I changed the oil. The oil would work it was down from the air box on to the cylinder head and drip down from there. I was freaked out about it, but these guys from this forum let me know what the problem was. They were spot on correct.
  11. I posted on the original thread I was going to make it, however something has come up and I will have to miss this one. Looking forward to the next meet and eat in the Great State of Oklahoma. I'm sure it this one will be a blast.
  12. 44,560 on my "06" Black Cherry Venture. Passing lamp swith went out twice. Replaced it the 3rd time with a swith from Autozone and not the yamaha swith. Works great now. Had the clutch basket changed, went from a screamer to very tolerable. The aux plug on the front faring does not work now. That's it. Everything else is fine. Jerry
  13. God.........I love Texas........and all year round riding.
  14. Sleeperhawk, Looked on the website for these. Where did you find the Kuryakan bar weights. Do they go on the end of the grips like the OEM ? Jerry
  15. Now that sounds like a good idea, I think I will stimulate the economy the same way.
  16. Can you program them to take specific routes, or do they always take the shortest route?
  17. Been really thinking hard on getting the 550. Does it come with the bracket that installs on the handle bars? Anyone who has installed one themselves, can you give some details. Which side does everyone put it on? right side I'm guessing because the CB/audio is on the left. If someone could post a pic that would be great. Have not ran across a venture that has had one yet. Couple wings but not a venture. Where can one find the best pricing? Thanks
  18. It has been awhile since I put them on my "06" Venture. If I remember correctly there are two screws that hold that little silver bracket which holds that rubber gromet in place. Remove the two screws and wiggle and pull that rubber gromet out. There is not alot of slack there at all, but enough. Routing the new wire thru the housing wall and the rubber gromet and then getting the gromet back in place was the hardest part. I put a little oil on the gromet with my finger it seemed to help getting it back in place.
  19. Larry, have a sister lives not to far from you in White Lake township M59 & Duck Lake Road area and she says they have had lot's of snow this year. Thinks she said 81" so far. Hard Winter for Michiganders. Hang in there, it's almost over. It won't be long and the smell of Spring will be in the air.
  20. That weather system blew thru the Dallas area on Thursday. It does not snow often in the Dallas area but it does snow. We got a dusting in Plano but just a few miles north of here in Gainesville they got 6". Just in case some of ya'll don't belive it snows in Texas, here's a photo of the back of my townhouse. Nothing like when I used to live in Michigan but it is snow.
  21. Again this forum comes thru, thanks guys. I did not know what it could have been. Feel better now after reading the reply's. I will check that oil level and be sure it's at half. And keep an eye on the level after future oil changes. When I change the oil I use a gallon container and use all but about a 1/4" or so that I leave in the container. I probably put in to much on my last oil change. As I said I will keep on eye on the level in the future. Thanks again
  22. Change the plugs in my "06" today and I notice the area around the carbs on the left side (on/off fuel valve side) had alot of oily film, that plastic box that sits on top of the carbs, I removed the top was the same, on the left oily and normal on the right. Don't know what to make of that? Any ideas? Some kind of blow by????
  23. Thanks for the reply's, no plans on re-jetting here. Just looking forward to a decent day to take her out for a ride. Yesterday here in North Texas was miserable, maybe today. If not for sure sometime this up comming week. I Love Texas......
