  1. Had the same thing happen to mine. Pulled the connector apart, greased it up and it's been fine ever since.
  2. And real hard on leather shoe soles too. You used to be able to buy calcium chloride flakes in about 50 lb. bags. Just spread it around and water it down. They use salt brine around here for dust control as well.
  3. Yup. That's right. Still got the back one. Avon WWW with about 8000 miles. If anyone wants it, I'll bring it to Don's on MD. Avon web site still shows the MT90-16 front with both narrow and wide white wall but they don't show the rear anymore.
  4. Just heard about this place in Mansfield Ohio and thinking about taking a ride to check it out. We really liked the movie and thought it would be neat to go and have a look at the actual prison. Anyone else been there? As a tourist I mean... Or a resident...LOL! Maybe a good destination for a Ohio M&E???? http://www.mrps.org/

FYI, there's a KOA at the base of the tower.
  6. I've heard of guys shortening the side stand when they lower their bike. Maybe that's the case with yours?
  7. Take a ride up and down the strip after dark. It's awesome. Also the light show on Fremont St. is great. And it's free. http://www.vegas.com/attractions/off_the_strip/fremontstreet.html
  8. Randy, we'll be going to MD and then to Americade but if there's anything I can do to help you out just say the word.
  9. :rotf::rotf:
  10. Might be easier to tie down in the back of the pickup????

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1240/966464986_1073161005_m.jpg Hey Gene, I saw this place somewhere along I 30 in Texas today and I thought of you.
  12. Yes, my mind is changed. Also like the "VR Classifieds" name in the thread title. Good work!
  13. Sorry, I'm not liking the new feature either. Makes the "New Posts" section way too busy IMHO. Wouldn't be bad if they showed up in a different colour or with "For Sale" or "Wanted" in the heading. I hardly ever read the far right column to see what forum the thread is in. Maybe it's just a growing pain and it will comm down after the initial start up.
  14. Hey Brian, put your glasses on. I said County not Country.
  15. In our county it's very common now to hear about people getting the licence suspension and car impounded for the 50 kph (30 mph) over speeding offence. Mainly on the 401 but also on the other hwy's.
  16. Look for a Travel Supreme mid engine model. They have a garage in the back you could put two bikes in or a Smart Car. http://www.rvt.com/picture.php?ad_id=2267602&pnr=2267602_3.jpg http://www.rvt.com/photos2/7602/2267602/2267602_3.jpg
  17. Haven't turned mine off since I put them on. The more lights the better IMHO.
  18. The RSV is over 10" longer than a Road King so there's no way you're going to get one in that compartment. That blows that idea all to He**....LOL I've seen every method you can possibly think of for hauling a bike while I've been here. I really hate anything that involves hauling the bike exposed to the salt and slush we get in the northern climate when I leave to head south.
  19. This is how my neighbour at the campground is hauling his HD Road King. First he removes the tour pack and windshield. Then he tilts the handle bars down a little. He has a winch to bring the bike in and out. I looked at one of these Prevost motor homes at a big RV show when we were in Tampa Fl and it listed for just over $2 MILLION.
  20. It was great to see you, Lonna and Heather too. Sorry we didn't make it to MD in Waller. We had friends from home come down to visit that weekend. We road over six hundred miles that week and they liked the Hill Country so much that they reserved a spot here for a month next year. We are planning to go to Don's MD in June so hopefully we'll see you both there. If not, we'll see you next winter for sure.
  21. On my Alaska trip I carried a bag on the luggage rack that weighed a good 20+ lbs. with no issues. And believe me when I tell you that the roads up there are rough and if there was ever going to be a problem it would have happened on that trip.
  22. This plane is a 1929 Standard Biplane. I always loved flying in small planes where you can actually see whats going on down on the ground. Got my first ride when I was about 12 years old. A local fellow landed in a field across the street from my house and offered to take all the local kids up. I remember that like it was yesterday. I have a good friend and riding buddy who has his own plane and I've been up with him a few times. Here are a few more pics. The 2nd one shows downtown Fredericksburg Tx.
  23. Found a new way to catch a little wind and it was awesome.
  24. Ya, don't get any loctite on your ABS.
