What we bought - a folowup to "What should we buy"
Gary N. replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I have an '03 Silverado, Std. cab, short box with the 4.8 as well. Great little truck. I love it. Wish it had the 5.3 for towing but I don't do that much so this will do. -

Thanks guys. I go back to the doc this Thursday. I feel fine but haven't tried to do anything. Got plenty that needs doing but I don't want to take a chance and screw up the recovery. I did get out for a ride today. It was beautiful but a little cool (42*).

Hey Randy, we took our Acer net-book with us this summer and it fit perfect in the trunk. We could actually stand it up in the case and still had room for luggage. It's a bit small but OK for e-mail and surfing in the hotel room.

I think they are trying to say that it will start a 375 HP engine. But that's just a guess on my part. Seems hard to believe that a little battery like that will start a high HP car engine but that's what they're push'n. Sounds good in the ad and I've heard others talking about these batteries but no experience myself.

I was looking at one of my street rod magazines today and came across this web site for hot rod batteries crystal cell technology??? http://www.hotrodbatteries.com/ One model (HRB 11) is even smaller (5.125 x 3.250 x 6.500) than the RSV battery(6.875" x 3.4375" x 6.125") with 375 cranking amps. Looks like the HRB 14 with 475 cranking amps would work too. They don't advertise the price so I'm sure it must be kind of high considering a 100% replacement five year warranty. Just thought I would through it out there for anyone who might be interested. If nothing else, I think I might look into one for my street rod.

Thanks everybody, well except maybe for Carl. YOU CAN'T HAVE HER!. Besides all she knows about quilts is that you sleep under them. I'm feeling 99.9% today. Haven't even opened the tylenol 3s. Going to be hard to not do anything for a while. Getting anxious to head south.

Harley has a lot of tip choices. Takes a little effort to make them fit but not too much.
-
Hey Tom, did you get the stand up cab too. I'm thinking it would be a little easier to get Mary to run the thing if I had one of those. You know just in case we get some of that ''S" stuff before we head south.

All is well. In by 7:00 out by 1:00. Had to get a "blow out repaired" (Hernia). I feel great, ready to get back to it but Doc says I have to take it easy for two to four weeks. Guess I'll be surfing the web, watching TV, and eating. All the things I do best. Honey, can you take out the garbage. Oh and the RSV could use a little polish too.

Very tempting Brad, very tempting. And I see there's a space shuttle landing pad right south of your town too. Maybe in Feb. on our way to Kerrville.

Dunlop D404's are pretty much the only game in town. I've had about six sets and like them ok. Others don't.

I didn't have very good luck with the cheap J&M headsets like the ones that Yamaha sells. Sierra Electronics had them for less then $75 but every set I've had usually ends up having problems with the patch cord. On the advise of my good friend Tom I just bought two sets of the J&M Elite 584 from Sierra Electronics.

Hey, you didn't tell me about this part. Now I'm just about back home. Have a great time everyone and be careful.

We use Gmax and Fulmer 3/4 open face helmets and J&M headsets (same ones Yamaha sells). No problem mounting the headset to either of these. I really like the Fulmer and would buy another when the time comes.

Sorry Tom, As much as I would love to do just that, I can't this time. Got some stuff going on at home I need to get back for. Heading home in the morning. I'll see you in March.

We've been in Branson since Thursday and decided to take a drive down to Eureka Springs today. Only thing that would have made it better is if I had my bike.

Congrats Carl and family. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do to be as old as you....LOL

Are you happy with only five gears? How bad are the vibes?

Mine is smooth as silk.
