Had my 06 fairing laid forward for shock maintenance. When finished I tried to hook the battery back up. The + lead sparked even with the key off and it made a noise like a starter solenoid when the battery is low. Bike won't start and the battery goes dead in a short time. Again this happens with the key off...any ideas?

5' - 8" and 29" inseam...lowered front forks 1-1/2" and put on Avon Venoms...changed the bike handling for the better by a long shot! -

Put on a new set of rear shoes today, and when I just took it for a test drive, my headlamp is not working...however, my high beam indicator stays on no matter where my switch is...any ideas?

This is a must see to believe it. The biker in the Red shirt is Mark Joseph, who runs the Gipson Tire Store in Millbrook. His buddy was in a pickup behind him filming the whole thing. This repeats 3 or 4 times, with each showing going a little bit slower, so you can really see what happened. Notice the biker coming at you duck. This footage was taken on the Needles Hwy near Sturgis. This all happened in less than two seconds

I also have one, but I really like mine. I've changed 6 tires with it, and it takes no time at all. Biggest challenge was to seat the new tires to the rims. Solved that with a 16 inch bicycle tire tube. Get the bead areas and bicycle tube wet and soapy, stick the lightly inflated tube into the void between the bead and rim. Once the tire started to climb up the rim, just snatch the tube outta the way. Anyway, just my thoughts.

Just my two cents again. I have a Lowrance I350 GPS/MP3 that is susceptible to vibration. I solved this problem by attaching some sewn on velcro to my Joe Rocket tank bag, and adding glue backed velcro to the bottom of the GPS. It does not vibrate, I can see it perfectly, and it is easily removed for lockup.

I gotta keep adding my two cents...I agree with Rod...lowering mine 1 1/2" really improved my bike, and dropping to the next smaller size Avon Venom tires was like icing on the cake...I have no qualms recommending others to try and see if they like the new ride. Haven't considered the Barons kit cuz I am really happy about the way she rides as is.

Tom, I have tightened mine 4 times since new. I have been infirmed on this site that it is a bit rare to have to do that...but it cures the wobble every time. I suspect, as do others in here, that Yamaha did not assemble mine properly. Been about 15,00 since I last tightened, so maybe it it finally seated properly.

WOW...stuff worked really well...but that is a mighty lil piece of sandpaper...I picked up a pack of 2000 grit right next to the Quixxx for future use. I topped off the repaired area with some "Ice" polish, looks like new. Oh, my damage was from Loctite Blue...it apparently has a reaction to the polycarbonite or the coating...turns it milky. Thanks for the tips, all.

I called Mobil and asked as customer service rep about their synthetic oil and was advised NOT to use it in a wet clutch skewt. I use Rotella now, as well.

Had to tighten my fork bearings 4 TIMES! It has finally stopped wobbling at any speed. Venoms did not cure mine.
