    I havn`t done that yet, but am looking forward to it.... The KOA camp grounds and most state parks have showers, the KOA`s have a laundry so you will not have to pack as many clothes.... we are in our late 40`s also, and my back doesn`t do good on the ground, but like you say the motel cost will eat up your fun, we went to Ft. Lauderdale last somer for 9 days and a grand of the total cost was hotel..... any way have fun and be safe!!! and if you make to Texas be sure and stop in and say Hi!!!! K

    Got her done..... man what a job !! had the green beast striped down to the bone... let me tell ya`ll what happened, all was good untill I was taking the gas line off the tank, the whole brass fitting came out of the cockpit and not the hose...I know I have read of this happening on here.. any way, I cleaned it up real good, put a thin coat of silicon on it an tapped it back in with a plastic mallet, rode about 20miles and checked for leaks all looks good, any thing else I should have done??? Any way, got the mic-mutes all ran and hooked up, wanted to test before taping and dressing in the cables... and Nada..zip...nothin....hhhhmmmmm...ok now what, I got the kids VOM and started checking things... hmm whats all the smoke??? had the meter set wrong and smoked it!! The boy is very proud of me!! any way, had to take the front lowers off to get to the fuse block...boy the rocket sceintist that thought that up!! any way, had a bad fuse, changed that, still nothin...got a different VOM and checked at the splices on the acc power outlet..nada....hhhmmmm ok, now what, ended up having to crimp thos schotch locks till they where almost smashed...at last power!!! got it all back together( with NO extra parts ) and me and momma took her for a spin..all is good!! I am still having problems with my J&M headsets only getting music out of the left speaker, but that is another thread!!

    I just had a fight with mine today also...I thought that was a Heat Sheild ??? hhhmmm learn somethin new every day... I am going to put wing nuts back on mine and thought about getting 2 cheap sockets and welding the nut into them, there for the socket will always be in place, also may help with seeing where the little rascal is at.. I know Squidley didn`t have any on his, but I only weigh 195 and am afraid the whole thing will blow off.... K

    I am going to install the mic mutes today, and was wondering, has any one relocated the drivers head set cord off of the tank to another location?? also any tips on this installation would be great!! Thanks, K

    I`m not the pro mech. but sounds like it could just be that the Battery is on its way out... I have an `01, bought it 8mths, ago with 2700miles on her and think its the orig. battery, havn`t had any problems with it, but wondering if I should go ahead and change the battery just cause? Good luck with yours.. K

    I have the pillow tops on my `01 and love them, I have found that I have a few pairs of jeans that I can not wear when riding as they are Indian pants and creap up on me.. the problem we have is that the wife feels like she is slipping forward into me, has any one had this problem and is there a way to lift the front of the back seat to make her slip back instead of forward???

    Breaking the bead is the fun part, I used 4 ea 4x4 to set the wheel on, to keep the rotor from being damaged, then got a small piece of 2x4 and a bumper jack, backed my F250 over the tire and jacked my truck up with the jack on the 2x4 and the 2x4 on the edge of the old tire, allmost lifted my truck off the ground but the bead finally broke... I bought a wheel balancer and it came with self stick lead weights.... the first time doing this on both front and back took me all day, but I got it, and am sure the next time will only take a few hours. The stealers here wanted between $154.99 and $253.00 to change my tires, I bought everthing I need and have about $125.00 invested... I really enjoy doing my own work. Allways afraid the mech. at the stealer may have been out all night or had a fight with his girl, and I just do not want to put my life in there hands..     I still have the OEM sheild, am 6ft. tall and there is no way I can even come close to seeing over that sheild.... I am planning on getting the XXL Clearveiw soon, as far as rain goes, thats not a big problem, but the Fog is a killer!!! Hope the CV XXL takes care of this problem..

    My son used it on a `54 chev truck, removed the paint to the metal..... now just needs to sand her down and primer it... used the cheap dollar store brand...

    Looks great!! and that just connects right to your hitch?? again, good job, I am needing some way to carry 2 fold out chairs and a small 2-man tent, that just may work...
