  3. Sorry for the delay in responding but a contractor accidently pressure washed my laptop the other day at work leaving me puterless. now I've hyjacked my sons delaying his homework until I can get mine replaced.
  4. They way mine was done was that they took a regular left side stand and rotated it to the right side. The foot part appears to be facing backwards but it works fine. The pivot point rotates on a fabricated plate that is welded on the removal section on the right side frame. The bike tends to lean a little more on the right side stand. But, unless you park with the right side leaning downhill it is not really a problem. The right side stand does not have a kickstand safety switch but that never bothered me. Another benefit of the right side stand is that you can remove the stator cover plate and the middle gear bearing cover if necessary without draining the oil while it is leaning on the right side stand.
  5. Hey Buckshot, YOUDAMAN hope Dale takes you up on the offer. As far as my attendance I would Love to be there. However, allthough the desire, wherewithall and 1st gen is ready, willing and able. Unfortunately, the time in my schedule is not available for a journey of that distance at the planned date and time. I may have to catch up with ya'll at another opportunity.
  6. You Betcha:thumbsup2: WOOO HOOOO
  7. I have another fan if you need it.
  8. Might get a beer, the only screwdriver he knows about has Orange Juice and Vodka in it.
  9. Yesterday while contemplating my 1st Gen to do list I realized that it was about time to do a another tear down. The todo list as it stands now: Fork seal replacement............Again Front tire replacement..........Again Probably rear tire too Avon Venoms this time Might as well replace brake pads..........Again Body part replacement customization and repair....Again Change up the paint Job............Again Intake O-ring seal leak 2 cylinders Re-synch Carbs New Diaphrams on sliders Valve clearence pad check & replace (really dreading this one but RandyR said he would help) Replaceing rear crash bars and trailer hitch with new ones new mufflers Accent lighting rewire. So, I was reiterating the list to a buddy over a happy hour drink yesterday when he offered for me to come get his 2nd Gen Midnight Venture and ride it while my bike was down. Now that's a friend for you.
  10. If you need one I got a bunch of them PM me.
  11. Yep I know what you mean hard to get her settled down when she's raring to go. And them Hardleys seem to get her riled up every time.
  12. No Randy Not at all I noticed earlier in the day before I left Brookhaven to meet You. That Is why I asked you to push from the front though.
  13. I saw one of those at Two Wheels Only in Suches N. Ga. last spring. It was a 1st gen MKII with a gold wing trunk and saddle bags, On the rear of the trunk he had cleverly arranged the badge to read Yamawing.
  14. Always pays to be vigilant. Glad you weren't struck by flying road debris.
  15. I've got an extra overflow tank and cap. Do you mind covering shiping?
  16. Buckshot, You and Dale are in the same state, Why don't ya'll hook up so you can introduce him around. I would but, I'm too far away.
  17. We (The North Georgia Members) do the second Saturday of every Month thanks to Blackjack. Next Saturday we are attacking Rome Like a Hoard of Barbarians with the help of ECK"S Alabamians. ..................Rome, Georgia that is. As always you or anyone else are welcome to join us.
  18. I've used the heat with soldering iron plastic weld method and the ABS Glue method twice and both times seemed solid but after a while re-broke in the same place. Each time the crack gets longer and wider. Do you know the exact name of the product that you used because I'm finding that a lot of the "plastic" Glues and epoxys don't work on this type of plastic.
  19. My trunk broke again right behind the rear mounting bolts. I have patched this back together several times and apparently have not been successfull. Does any one have a 87 MK2 trunk laying around you don't need at least the lower half. I guess I just need to replace it. I thought I would ask before I start searching ebay again. I don't mind paying for the part and shipping. Color doesn't matter because i will have to repaint to match anyway.
  20. RandyR and I took the opportunity of a perfect weather ride day to tour the North Georgia Mountains.......AGAIN. It was a great ride and I was glad to do it with an old friend. Thanks Randy! The rest of you should have been there.
  21. What the hell.... why not I'll recommend you and have already done so. Glad to see you back, I may need a carb synch and valve adjustment. Your Buddy bob
  22. Helmets are mandatory in Georgia and knowing John I'm sure he would not leave home without it.
  23. Sounds right to me I've done a couple of rebuilds and if we got a couple of folks attacking the different aspects it could be done over a weekend if parts available. Pre planning would be a big help. Like what does the brake fluid and internal surfaces of brake system look like? Any corrosion? Are calipers, resevoirs and lines in good shape need a flush or a rebuild/replace. For the budget :mo money:we could all stay in the local motel and still get the project done? Or we could camp. Done that before.
  24. Thanks for the market update.
