  1. I have found the EBC motorcycle pads I needed for my 87 VR a LOT cheaper than the dealership. Less than half. In a scrap in Tucumcari, NM I found a HD Sportster set that were the same thing.
  2. Personally, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to sale either one of them.
  3. I want the trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Once upon a time I had a ignition switch failure. So I dissassembled the switch and cleaned the contacts, put it back together and reinstalled it and everything is still ok. I don't remember it as a very hard operation. It might save you some significant bucks. No telling what Yamaha wants for that switch. But then mine is a 1st gen, I don't have any experience with a second gen.
  5. I was woke up this morning by the leading report on Good Morning America about the record rainfall, snow melt runoff and record flooding in your area that's going on. I immediately thought of you and our other members up in the NorthWest corner of the country. Please respond if you can and let us know if your safe and out of harms way. Or if not what I or others of us can do to assist you if your in trouble. Until I know I'll just pray that you and your family are Ok and out harms way. As I'm sure others will be doing that are reading this post.
  6. I've got a good set of 1st gen 86/93 crash bars I'll sell with no road rash on them for $150.00 plus shipping.
  7. I don't know why Yamaha is so proud of thier plastic chrome mirrors but the reason they are in such demand is that the mirrors are the catch point when these bikes fall over and break fairly eaisily. Happened to me several times. I've since resorted to using a set of aftermarket custom mirrors I found on ebay for a little over $20.00 a set that are real metal chrome and work great adapted to the bases of the stock mirrors. I do happen to have a right side stock mirror in good shape I could let go cheap the problem is it's painted blue to match my bike instead of chrome. I bet you could paint it and your other mirror flat black to match and it would not look odd and out of place. If that works for you I would sell it for $25.00 plus shipping.
  8. True, :backinmyday:True, :backinmyday:True, :backinmyday:True ........especially about needing the big type.
  9. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......Congrats on the Grandson and tell those younguns to keep trying maybe you'll end up with a Grand daughter. I got to spend some time with my grand daughter on New Years day. I finally got her to start calling me G-Daddy instead of Pa-Pa like the rest of the family wants. It was so neet her telling everyone how much she loves her G-Daddy.
  10. Does that mean that no one is bidding on these bikes? There are several in there I'd like to have but, I checked my crystal ball and I don't see a trip to Las Vegas in my immediate future.
  11. Thanks Lonestar, I got it in the mail on Friday and soon as I get over this stomach virus I'm gonna go put it on.
  12. I've got one that's in good shape but needs cleanup. the smaller round plate is missing the 1300 in the center square.
  13. Brakes? We don't need no sticking Brakes!!!!!
  14. I've often wondered myself what the attraction was. Since a rear tire change out is usually over two hundred Dollars and I am worried about getting the most possible miles out of a tire, I don't get it either. I will make these observations though, amongst those friends that get into doing burnouts that I know I've noticed this. They always seem to be the the meglamaniace maccho types that get into this wastefull display. They seem to have more money than sense or want people to believe they do. The women that I've seen do it all had large breast in a small bikini top and at sometime during the burnout find an opportunity to flash thier large breast to the surrounding crowd. The men that do it are often the type that thinks head butting is a contest of the fittist instead of an example of the moronic. Both the men and women that do it don't mind smelling like burnt rubber. Go figure. .
  15. Thanks Don for all that you do to make this group possible.
  16. I didn't like the way mine looked either untill I took the risers and had them professionally dipped and polished. It made a big difference by changing them from an oxidized aluminum look to a shinny bright chrome look and only cost about $60.00.
  17. I've got a good left front fairing that is good shape except that current owner spray painted black over and it will need to be repainted. I also have some other body parts that you may be able to use. I'll trade the left upper front fairing for some air brush work on tank cover. PM me if you interested in talking.
  18. It does to me, I have a complete frame I can't title and two spare engines. I was kinda looking for a frame that could be titled so I could start a Venture cruiser custom. Pm me or call me so we can talk about it.
  19. I had a heck of a time with carb vacume pressure, mostly the lips around the air box rubber throats to carb throats. I could not get them to seal properly. I finally changed out the air box and finally got them to seal. I also had problems with the clamps on the airbox side and the intake boot side and went through several sets before I found some good ones before I could get enough vacumn pressure to sync carbs. Tight seals are critical and the proper air flow thru carbs.
  20. I just really need the guts or the wire cable part that goes thru the outer housing.
  21. I'll have to look to see if I have one. I'll get back with you.
  22. Mine went south and I do not have a spare. I would be willing to buy or trade for what you may need.
