  1. Is that a puddle of oil under it in the second picture? And this is a new bike?
  2. I got mine today as well but it looks like a different publication. Mine is only 124 pages. I was surprised it only covers one road in Georgia when there are so many neat roads in north Georgia. But I'm thinking about riding the two listed for South Carolina tomorrow. Savannha River parkway and Cherokee foothills parkway.
  3. Don't we all, mistakes are the best form of education
  4. Looks like I won't be making it. The part I was waiting for did show up. However, I still have issues going on with my bike. So bottom line is I won't be making it to St Judes with you. Sorry I'm going to miss it.
  5. Lewis, I' still waiting for voltage reg/rect to show via USPS. If it comes today it will only take me a few minutes to change it out. If that fixes my problem, and the weather improves I was still trying to make your meet point in the morning. I just got back to the house after my bike broke down on the side of I-78 in Stone Mountain with a completely dead battery, in the rain. A Harley rider stopped and gave me a lift to my buddies house where I was able to charge the battery. Then my buddy gave me a ride back to the bike and followed me home. Now I'm just waiting to see what the mailman brings me. I'll post later if I'm gonna be able to make it or not.
  6. This summer I met a club member going by ESHenry at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming who said he was from the Knoxville area.
  7. Looks ands sounds like yall are having a great trip. Enjoy, Take plenty of pics and come home with Gods speed safely. Bob
  8. Brian, I just lisented to part one of the trip to Sturgis Podcast. It sounded great. I just want to thank you for making the podcast happen and for picking me to be the subject of one of the first ones. Because of your efforts you are adding a whole new deminsion to the Venturerider.org experience and you deserve all of the credit for making it happen. Everyday that each of us rides we end up with a multitude of stories to tell. Thank you for opening the portal that we can all share to express our joy of riding by the spoken word. God bless you for that and I love you. Hope to see you and ride with you again soon. Your lifetime friend, Bob
  9. Welcome back.... The bike looks great...Dodge those cages and remember they aint paying attention to you, so you have to pay attention to them.. And ride, ride, ride Saddlebum Ride:7_6_3[1]:
  10. I Don't know what I Know, But, I know what I don't know I Don't know what I Know, But, I know what I don't know I Don't know what I Know, But, I know what I don't know And I know I don't know enough about Politics, the economy, religion or women to argue with anyone on those subjects. Especially sense everyone else are so convinced they know all there is to know about them and thier point of view is the absolute right one.
  11. They are a pain but I found that if you remove the air box and carbs from intake manifolds you have pleanty of clearence to get the covers off and on. To get the gaskets in place, I was told, but I have not tried it yet (but it makes sense to me), to fill groove on covers with gasket sealer place valve cover gasket in grove all the way around then turn upside down onto a flat surface and let sit over night while sealer sets. The next morning you can place cover and gasket on head with no problem and gasket does not fall out all over the place.
  12. Class system begins on page 7-73 and e-2 means= Air pressure does not increase when air compressor is operated. Trouble shooting guide for E-2 code is on page 7-84
  13. How about a Venture Parts swap meet as part of the festivities? How would that be?
  14. How about having a swap meet at the international Rally next Summer as part of the festivities, could be splite up into 1st and 2nd gen parts.
  15. With a trailer, or trailer the bike and parts to meet with pick-up. I can imagine quite a few.
  16. I will
  17. I just told my Goldwing buddy about it. We've been trying to plan a trip to Barber for a while. This may a good opportunity.
  18. Wow I'd love to see a car sized turkey:scared: or a car sized deer for that matter. Now Elk, Moose Buffaloe and Boulders thats a whole different story.
  19. On my recent trip out west I kept seeing wildlife signs and falling rock signs. It pays to pay attention to them. In Georgia we worry about hitting a deer at night on the bike. Out west be mindfull of the Elk and the Buffaloe they are much much bigger than the deer. Be careful and have a safe trip home.
  20. Why Jack? Do you think I might be too challenged by the Microwave? I got it figured out. Your Buddy Bucco Bob:dancefool:
  21. Last year I had a no spark problem and could not get any thing to happen. Found GeorgeS who spent a lot of his time emailing me through a total wiring system trouble shoot. Let me start buy saying that 99 % of the problems thaT HAPPEN WITH THESE BIKES ARE BECAUSE OF RESISTANCE ON ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS MEANING BAD ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. In my case the problem was that between the ignition switch and the kill switch there was enough resistance caused by carbon build up on the switch contacts to decrease the voltage to the the TCI which in turn sent low volts to coils which didn't have enough volts to fire plugs. I took the switches apart, cleaned the contacts and put the switches back together and the bike fired right up . Problem fixed. The fix took about thirty minutes after about two months of tracing and testing and trouble shooting electrical circuits and connections. Boost sensor is part of cruise control system that senses pressure and help adjust pressure in carbs while cruise control system is being used. I don't think it would be causing a no spark issue. Your close enough to me that I could possible help you work through it if you need help. Just give me a call.
  22. Got yours and I replied check your PM's
  23. You know how you go to swap meets and there is nothing but Harley Parts. I had a thought that it might be interesting to organize some regional swap meets where we could get together to buy, sell and trade Venture parts. Maybe they could be organized around well attended meet & eats and maybe held on a quarterly or bi-annually basis. I just throwing out a feeler to see how much if any interest there would be. My selfish motivation is that I have a lot of 1st Gen parts I'd to sell or trade. What do you think?
  24. Ok I downloaded Skype and ordered a headset what do I need to do next?
