  1. Let me check to see what it takes to get set up on SKYPE
  2. I think it would be cool to do video of work and repairs in progress would probably be more informative then still shot pictures in articles. Maybe there is a video expert that would like to wrestle that bull. i'd like to show the photos and video of the trip along with narrative in a story format. I pretty sure I can do it with Windows movie maker but it is so time consuming to figure it out I usually give up and start working on something else. I got a bunch of different ride videos I'd like to make movies out of . Did Bear close Boondock's cause of his health?
  3. Brian, Thanks for the text message on Jenn's address, I got it. It took me a while to get all the pieces made that i had promised on the trip, while getting my real life up to speed in ATL. So please apoligize to the girls for me on the delay. Sorry to hear about Boondock's Hope that doesn't limit your watering hole options too much. I'd love to podcast about the trip. That would be a lot of fun. I've told the story so many times to my local buddies that I'm getting pretty good with the descriptive embellishments. Just let me know what to do, I'll leave the tech stuff to you since it seems I'm challenged with the on off switch with this thing. Back here in reallity I miss not being back on the trip and riding and partying with you in Amarillo. I had a blast and Texas was one of the high points of the trip. Hope to be seing and riding with you soon.
  4. Thanks for the info, I wish I had this on my last trip around the country. But, I'll have it for the next one.
  5. Sounds good to me I'll play but not sure about the tech knowledge needed for me to pull it off. Oh yea by the way tell my Amarillo girl friends that jewelry is made and on the way via usps in the next few days.
  6. Todd, Please do, my laptop internet connection just went south and I'm having to use the desktop dinasaur. It works but is oh so slow. charlesgraham4867@comcast.net
  7. We just keep her out of the rain and close by so we can ride her when we want to. We are fortunate enough to have a 12 month riding season. And on those one or two days every couple years when it does ice and snow we just ride anyway. Just ask 86er.
  8. How many riders so far from our neck of the woods.
  9. Todd, Where do you get the cards. There is a 1st Gen down the street from my house I'd like to put a card in his mailbox.
  10. I probably am when I feel like I'm being ripped off. And if your a rippoff business owner you deserve a little Hell from your customers.
  11. Your right, I'm wrong, His e-mail message just hit me wrong and I felt like venting, My bad, I'm over it too, moving on
  12. I knew going in what the shipping cost was gonna be. It's not the $6.80. All I'm saying is the thing could have been sent for the price of a stamp in an envelope. I'm sick of a Customer No Service Attitudes by people that don't care what you think when they break it off in you. Then raise hell when you bring thier poor service to thier attention.
  13. I'll defend to the death your constitutional right to voice your opinion, nomatter if I agree with it or not.
  14. Hey thats exactly what I thought, If George Jetson rode a motorcycle it would be the Victory Vision. It would have to be be a performer to be that ugly. I can appreciate performance but I don't know if I could get used to people laughing at my bike every where I rode.
  15. I recently bought a part on ebay, (Lower fairing vent Louver ),from an ebay vendor, cmstexas. The seller did not offer any shipping options other than USPS Prioity mail for $6.80 which I thought was a little expensive. But, I needed the part more than the $6.80 shipping so I bid on item anyway and won it. I paid for item and shipping via paypal and part showed up in two days very neatly packaged in a box you could have put fifty of them in. Opened the box and item is rattling around in huge box with one wrap of tiny bubble wrap, and a small piece of brown slick sided shipping paper,(But, not enough to cushion item from rattling around in box). So as soon as packaged arrived and being a dutiful E-bayer I left, as e-bay request Honest feedback which read. Positive option "Item arrived quickly and was as described but shipping expensive. " next day, today....................................... I get E-bay e-mail from this seller four paragraphs chewing me out because I complained about his shipping charge amoung other things he ranted about: "Shipping cost was clearly stated in listing" Yes it was but, seller did not offer any less expensive shipping options. I've been riding for the last 10k miles with this part missing I would not have had a problem waiting an extra day or so for cheaper shipping cost. "With the cost of packageing materials he lost money" :fiddle::fiddle: I don't doubt it shipping a 6 ounce item in a 30 pound box, I don't know what he paid for the box, roll of brown shipping paper and the bubble wrap but I use free newspaper which works just as good, I've shipped the same item with no problems in an padded envelope. for a fraction of the shipping cost. My business experience tells me that if he is losing money doing business, maybe he should rethink the way he is doing business. :Im not listening to:Im not listening to
  16. When I got my 87 it had 20,000 miles on it. Thats new for a 1st Gen., isn't it? I now have 99,280. I'll have 100,000 on it by the end of the weekend. Does that count?

  18. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Good idea I hadn't thought of that. it would be easy to do.
  19. Thanks ya'll for your help. I found the problem a blown 10A fan fuse and I KNOW WHY IT BLEW. Whenever your working on your bike and you drop a screw or a bolt or a washer. Then you look and look and can not find it. When you finally give up convinced the screw fell into a black hole and disappered forever. Well one of those black holes is located in the fan shroud. Evidently I had dropped a bolt that got caught up in the fan shroud and happened to get wedged in a possition where it locked the fan blade. When the fan wanted to run like it was supposed to, and couldn't it popped a fuse just like it was suppossed to to keep from burning the fan motor out. Go Figure
  20. Mine's doing the same thing intermittenly, I'm about to go out and replace the voltage regulator to see what happens, I'll let you know.
  21. Glad everyone is OK, Hope to see you soon as you get the Honey-dos, done. Maybe St. Judes ride next month. Oh yea thanks for the tip about taking the front wheel off to remove the back wheel. It worked like a champ in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
  22. What you said has always been my experience and I've known a few women in my day.
  23. 78 from Memphis to Birmingham is a great Ride ( Brand new Interstate. I came back from sturgis that way and it also cross the Natchez Trace parkway and once you get on I-20 east from Birmingham you also go by the Barber Motorsports museum for some possible side trips on the way back If I go I probably plan on hitting these on the way back.
  24. I live in Atlanta and am planning to go so far. Your welcome to hook up with me, we'll work out the details.
  25. I had to shut down my used parts offer when I took my recent trip to Sturgis and out west. But, Now I'm back and I'm finished with the Mattcharva's bike rebuild project so now the parts store is back open. There are many, many good parts left and I need to wrap this project up as well . I need to move these babies and clear out the over flow of parts that run from my work area through the sunroom art studio into the house and on to the kitchen table. Most every thing has been disassmbled from the bike down to the engine and frame. Still have all the plastic body parts and most of the systems and electrical components. So, if your still looking for some parts please reply on this post and I will answer with availability and condition of part and price of part plus shipping cost. :mo money:plus:2cents: Please do not respond by private message. That didn't work to well last time. Going back and forth between the thread and private messages kept me confused and clogged up private messages boxes. So step right up and tell me what you need, remember a lot of the parts are interchangable withe the XVZ1300 and later year model. If in doubt I can verify if it will work on your bike with my multi year Yamaha Parts program. It's all for a good cause, mine and Venturerider.org's. I am doing this for a few bucks but I'm not greedy and willing to share so I'm trying to offer these parts at a very reasonable cost and at the end of the day I'm gonna tally up what I've sold through this site a donate 10% off that amount to Venturerider.org and donate any remaining useable parts to the venture parts stash on the site.
