1. Hey guys, I have this super nice Leather Gallery buffalo jacket listed on Ebay - it is a very comfortable, nice jacket - even has the Yamaha & Venture Rider pins still on it! Also listed in classifieds here on this site. Beautiful, very soft men's buffalo leather jacket, size 4XL, by Leather Gallery. I bought this jacket 3 years ago and paid over $300 for it. It has the Thinsulate zip-out liner, front and rear zippered air vents, zippered cuffs, expandable sides, extra elbow padding and kidney padding in the rear. It is a great jacket - very warm. I wore it on a winter motorcycle trip to Gatlinburg, TN 3 years ago and a winter motorcycle trip to Helen, GA 2 years ago- that's it. Worn a total of about 12 days - it is in near perfect condition. At the time I was 380 lbs. and wore a size 58-60 jacket. I've lost over 200 lbs. in the last 15 months and the jacket is just way too big for me now (now wear a size 48 jacket). The only thing wrong is the zipper pull on the left cuff zipper is missing - that's it. It has always been stored in a garmet bag in a cedar chifferobe when not worn. You will not be disappointed in this jacket.
2. We finally got some pictures on.
3. I have a custom trailer being assembled to enable me to transport my Venture from the frozen north in winter to Florida so I can ride it in the winter. What is the proper method of tying the bike down to the trailer. What should I attach the tie downs to on the bike. If you have any photos of a venture on a trailer showing how it is tied down that would be helpful too.
4. Sitting at home do to short work week 32hr . Have work to do at home but it was 50 deg but raining I could not help going out in the garage and starting the bike and listen to the radio for a while. The temp is dropping and there talking snow again can't we just get a break if I have to be at home at least I could ride if the winter would end. Well sitting on her raised my spirits a little. Hope all are doing well spring is 21 days away.
5. Can't ride in the snow, this is a 3D illustration of my bike I've been working on this winter to pass the time. BTW this is what I do for a living.
6. I came home from work today to see the long awaited package at my front door. When I opened it, it held a pair of Baron bag slash pipes and eyebrows for the faring that I had purchased from WIKD. Since it is winter here in Michigan I couldn't wait to spend some time in the garage doing something to the neglected beauty. So my second gen. got a new set of pipes put on today!!!!! I had to start by listening to my stage IV road king pipes, and then proceded the switch. My face kinda resembled this:big-grin-emoticon: when I started it up with the Barons on. Then I proceded to do this. Now my wife knows she has a monster on her hands since it is supposed to be in the 40's here this weekend. Round about March or April it will be getting a new paint job and then it's all ridin' until winter 09 when i'm sure i'll find something else to do. A HUGE THANK YOU TO WIKD for giving such a good deal on these. Thanks for listening. Big Mike COME ON SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

winter

foxnews said today we will have six more week of winter until spring come me and my mom hate winter
8. It’s officially 50F., bright sunshine, little wind, and I still can’t ride. The road between the house and the nearest pavement is still covered in ICE and snow. What a bummer. Winter is supposed to return on Thursday, and it’s unlikely that the road will clear before we get more snow. It’s been that way all winter, when just one more day of clear weather would open the road, more snow arrives. I certainly don’t want the drought years to return, but at least we could ride in the winter then. I guess I'll be:draming: until I can
9. …one of these; [ame= ] [/ame] Hum-m-m... I wonder if this will fit on a Venture…
10. What do you guys wear for winter boots that keep your feet warm? I have a pair of SIDI on the road boots that do a fair job of keeping my feet warm but I want something better that is also waterproof. ttew47
11. you guys in the south may have rainbows occasionally in winter.... but we have icebows when its minus 30c . Are ya jealous yet?? LOL... Heres some pics i took of the sundogs (our local term for the winter rainbow, I dont know what the official term is) and all around Regina and Wascana Park after our first big snowfall and blizzard of the winter yesterday. I also threw in a pic I took in the summer in the same spot with my scoot just so ya dont all think its like this all year round here. http://picasaweb.google.ca/friesman1/Jan0309# Brian
12. i came across this for my North Dakotah friends.. -----Inline Attachment Follows----- Fw: ND weather It's winter in North Dakota And the gentle breezes blow Seventy miles an hour At twenty-five below Oh, how I love North Dakota When the snow's up to your butt You take a breath of winter And your nose gets frozen shut Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I'll guess I'll hang around I could never leave North Dakota 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground
13. That is 79 more days to the official first day of spring. Yesterdays 45 degree weather was a perfect mid winter brake to take the bike for a spin. Can't wait for the warm weather.
14. glad i got all the bikes rode yesterday. it was 35 degrees. the bottom dropped out last night. right now it's 4 degrees. expected to make it to zero tonight. looks like a very early winter. this global warming is killing me.
15. - 37 C or - 37.6 F this morning Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
16. As I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning, the news was talking about the priorities of the incoming admimistration. One at the top of the list was climate change. That made me feel better as it is 18 degrees outside and it is still over a month until winter gets here. I have to say that I can not see how you folks from up north deal with winter, especially our friends north of the border. This would be even more difficult for me due to my love of motorcycles. But, I guess for many of you, it's snowmobile time. Try to stay warm. RandyA
17. What oil do you run for winter driving? I was thinking maybe semi-synthetic 5W-30 oil. I am planning on commuting to work on the bike this winter here in
18. FROG MAN

SNOW

Up to 6 inches coming in today and tonight.Wife not going to be in a good mood when I tell her in about an hour when she gets up. The weather forecast changed for the worst. I can hear it now What? I'm not driving to work in this. Someone can take me to work and you can come and get me tonight. It's the start of winter routine.
19. It's only been a few weeks since we last rode the scoot, and already I'm going nuts!!! Depression is seting in and I can't wait to rework the scoot and take it out again!! Winter projects include upgraded front suspension and brakes, along with bigger saddlebags and trunk. Came up with a few minor mods as well. The big winter project is getting the '85 running and start it's restoration! What are your winter plans?? Maybe we need a mid winter get together somewhere around here...
20. I see in some parts of the country winter is setting in, and you can see it reflected in some of the posts here, so, ................ "LET THE DRIVEL BEGIN"!!!!!!!!!!!!
21. Winter is soon upon us up here in Canada (ha, for some people it's already been here!) My greatest biking dream was to be able to ride my bike in FEB down south, say down to the Florida Keys for example but unfortunately we have too much snow and shyte roads to get out of here.. But now that I have a bike trailer, everything has changed!! woot My plan / goal this coming winter is to load the bike on the trailer, drive south into the USA until I reach the end of the snow line, and park the vehicle, get on the bike and come back 2 weeks later and come home with a lot of biking and a sunburn.. drool... While all this is just a dream right now, I'm sorta hunting for some info hopefully you yanks can help out with.. (A) in mid Feb, how far south would I need to go to be able to get on the bike and be 100% I won't get into snow / freezing rain trouble at the start of the trip.. 2 weeks later, say 1 March, get back.. (B) Though I will be able to tow my bike behind the vehicle on the trailer, I still need to protect it from the road salts (tons of it up here).. Is there a decent and proper bike wrap thing that can be used to protect the bike the bike yet not flap itself stupid and kill the bike? And the fun thing is that this bike trailer can be quickly converted to a trailer to be pulled behind the bike nice.
22. Do you have a riding season? I will probably have the scoots winterized by Dec 1. Sometimes it's Nov 1. Not so much the cold as those fall rains bringing the creek up. April usually brings enough warmth to get things moving again. The Weather channel is calling for a unusually cold and snowy winter for the east. You guys in New York get any snow last night? Our forecast is calling for snow showers next week. It could be a long winter nothing to do but bash on those second gen's.
23. yeap, Winter has arrived. Maybe not for some of you yet, or perhaps never for others, all depends on where you live I guess, however, it has arrived for me. I was on the way to Renton WA with my big rig , driving thru Billings Montana ,when I got the supprise visit of a foot of snow. I don't scare easily but I knew this was nothing to fool around with. Blowing snow (30 mile an hr winds), made it very hard to see anything. I'm happy to report that I made my destination. Just not looking forward to my return trip to Minneapolis, which brings me right back through that mess. Well, to all of you, STAY WARM, BUNDLE UP, WINTER IS HERE!!!
