  1. My wife is scheduled for a heart calf tomorrow. The doctor is going to do the procedure around 4 PM. I took her to the Emergency Room around 4:30 pm yesterday evening. I stayed there last night and just got home a few minutes ago. My daughter will stay tonight and I will return tomorrow to stay while the doctor does the procedure. Please remember my wife in your prayers. We are hoping and praying that there is nothing real serious wrong. She is doing fine for now, but was so very sick yesterday. I could tell that she is really concerned and frightened, and so am I. Thank you all so much. James
  2. Yesterday some of the O.F.'s in NorCal got together for the first time in too long of a time. Steve (SteveD..aka Hdhtr2000) Dubois and his wife Michell were in town for the first time in 3 years to visit kids and GK's. So what better excuse needed to get together with the old crew. Vic (LoneEagle) Tibs, Rick (EasyRider) Bray and wife Doris, Rich (Rich99) Elliot, and Yours Truly.. , met up at Steve's daughter Bree's house, and headed off the Red Robin for bugers. We had a great time and the laughing never did seem to stop. We had a few group photos taken in front of the house by Bree which will be posted later. This one was sent to me this morning by Rich99. We gotta do this again...
  3. Wife sent me this had to LOL http://weknowmemes.com/2011/10/his-her-diary-on-the-same-day/
  4. Hi all, I'm a proud new owner of a awesome 2000 mm Venture, 3500 miles, this thing is sweet. I traded my Raider on it because I can never get a ride in without the wife. I love the Venture but I need pipes,I'm talking pretty loud. What do I want and where do I get them.
  5. A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. "Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed. "Who was that?" asked his wife.. ... "Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers. "Did you help him?..." she asks. "No, I did not, it's 3am in the morning and it's pouring rain out there!" "Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself! "God loves drunk people too you know." The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?" "Yes," comes back the answer. "Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband. "Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark. "Where are you?" asks the husband. "Over here on the swing," replied the drunk..
  6. My wife got me the venturerider guardian bell and it came today. Very nice, thank you Don.
  7. OK, I've heard some remarks about VR.Org being an Eating Club with a Riding Disorder. Wondered if anybody has been watching 'Hairy Bikers' on the HISP cable channel. They ain't riding Ventures, but would fit in here really well..... Even the wife get's a kick out of them, and I find myself laughing.... a lot.... My kinda folks...
  8. I going to be in Canajoharie NY this evening to inspect a facility tomorrow - pretty sure it's real close to not much of anything but if anybody knows of a good place for dinner - give me a call and join my wife and me. 330-754-5640
  9. Bob Hill and his new wife, Betty were vacationing in Europe near Transylvania. They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree. Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious, with her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance. Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks.A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door. Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?" "I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "but we don't have a phone. My master is a doctor; come in and I will get him!"Bob brings his wife in. An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor; I am a scientist.. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have hada basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory." With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table. After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill are no more. The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house. Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music.. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight! Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory. He bursts in and shouts to his master: "Master,Master! .....The Hills are alive with the sound ofmusic!" What did you expect... it's free from a demented old friend on the Internet
  10. I was explaining to my wife last night that when you die you get reincarnated but must come back as a different creature. She said she would like to come back as a cow. I said, "You're obviously not listening".
  11. There is a friend of mine that is also a member here that needs prayer for his wife and family. Without going into details, she is having some complications. He may speak up later and give details. Please lift his wife up for healing and also the rest of the family. Thanks all.
  12. A guy that I worked with sent me some pictures of one of his friend's Goldwing trike and a truck tire. This guy was on his trike and his wife was on her trike in front of him. A wheel/tire came off an 18 wheeler and came across the median and nailed him. He did get some injuries of road rash, a mild concussion and some chest pains, but he is doing OK. This guy was really lucky and for sure lucky his wife was on her own bike. RandyA
  13. husband forgets anniversary illegul > 10/10 21:28:52 Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really pissed. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!" The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Bob has been missing since Friday.
  14. Sept. 30th. Oct. 1st & 2nd. Is anyone going this weekend? My wife and I will be going over Friday the 30th and return home the next afternoon.
  15. So my wife works for a guy who produces golf training aids (orangewhiptrainer.com). They are trying to find a better way to adhere a rubber mat to a plastic shell. Seems to me there should be something out there which will create a permanent chemical bond other then glue. Anybody out there know anything about plastics? Btw, I'm asking on my own, not at the request of my wife or her boss. Thanks
  16. We are in Indy with Friends until Monday. We are supposed to do a Charity Ride in the Morning. If any of you are doing the ride, my wife and I are on a Blue & Black 07 Venture. Stop by & say Hi. Craigr
  17. My wife and I were interviewed about M/C Touring and riding in general on this past Monday and Tuesday Morning Coffee hour show on BNNS Radio! My uncle runs the Station out of Belevidere, Ill. We went to visit him and he put my wife and I on the air. His co-host, 'BigD' out of Kenesaw, Ga, rides also as well as another Co-Host, Bruce. He asked what kind of bike we have then asked to describe it and why we ride, etc. It was quite an experience and I highly recommend it to anyone that gets a chance. If you are interested in our interviews and want to check them out, they should be in the Archived shows under 'Coffee Hour' at BNNSRadio.com. (each show is 2 hours). Both shows talk a lot about riding, but include other topics as well. I haven't listened to them yet. If you do check them out, let me know what you think - good or bad. Craigr
  18. A man left work one Friday afternoon. Instead of going home, he stayed out all weekend, spending his entire paycheck. When he came home Sunday Night, he was confronted by a very angry wife. Finally his wife stopped and said too him,"How would you like it if you didn't see me for a couple of days?" He said, "Fine with me." Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday went by and he didn't see his wife. Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye!!
  19. My cousin and his wife were involved in a accident yesterday. We think that thay were in the Alamosa Colorado. area. We don't have all the details as what happened, we do know that my cousin's wife was air lifted to Denver where she passed away. If anyone has any information on this please post. Thanks and please keep them in your prayers. Raymond
  20. My wife and I took our first trip on the RSV. Bought it last fall after many years of old wings. We headed to western MI and up the coast. Took B15 which was beautiful ride connecting with M22 to Traverse City. The next morning we headed up the Old Mission Peninsula and then around the Leelanau Peninsula on M22 cricling back through TC and on up through Charlevoix onto Petoskey. Took 119 the "Tunnel of Trees" this morning and then back to southern Mi. What a great trip on the bike. Had done some of this before with the car. I had already put 7,000 miles on the bike (140 miles round trip to work) but this was our first long ride together. What a great, comfortable ride. I can say that I am tired but not sore at all. Actually, i think it is more comfortable than the car. Even with my rear shock which i think is shot. Comfortable enough for the wife to fall asleep several times.
  21. Well I took the frt brakes off last night because my wife said she heard a noise while we were in Cody. Turns out the brake pads were fine about 3/16" on each side. Pads looks like sintered pads to me and they looked like metal. Hard as heck. Blew out the calipers and pads, sanded the face of the pads and reinstalled. While I had the pads off I compressed the pistons to make the installation easier. it was, but when I applied the frt brakes there was nothing. Keep pumping the brakes and it got real solid like it should be. I am thinking that the noise was just the normal light draging of the pads on the rotor. They seem to be floating caliper so I was not concerned. Rode it in this morning and the brakes were never so solid. Being hard of hearing in top and bottom ranges, I never heard any noise from the brakes. Headed to Madison in the morning to meet up with wife and grandkids, I am stopping by EagleEye's on the way down he is about 20 or so miles from Madison. Yupper is hidding out there also with his wife so it will be nice to see them. Have a great weekend and keep the shinny side up. Bubber
  22. Ok first long ride with the wife. kids were away for the weekend. A new seat is needed as her butt couldnt take the punishment. Next year tax season for the russel day long, but what about peg placement. my wife complained that the back of her legs were sore from the saddle bag crash bars digging into the calf muscle. Is there a way to adjust the peg or any other suggestions.
  23. A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk, and if they have eggs, get 6." A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why the heck did you buy 6 cartons of milk?" He replied, "They had eggs."
  24. I finally found a bike for when my wife is in one of "those" moods... http://www.bergall.org/temp/venture/motherinlaw.jpg
  25. This is too funny It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there's nothing worse than an oversensitive woman. My name is Ron. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Carol Anne. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Carol Anne to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men's Grill at the club, so eating out is not reasonable. I'm ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed. Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour.. But, Boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean).. I like to think tact is one of my strong points. When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too. I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Carol Anne. I'm not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, Guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other. EDITOR'S NOTE: Ron died suddenly on January 31 of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife Carol Anne was arrested and charged with murder. The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defense that Ron, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.
