  1. According to Ask.com this is correct info. What is the difference between http and https ? Don't know how many of you are aware of this difference, but it is worth sending to anyone who does not know ! **The main difference between http:// and https:// is it's all about keeping you secure** HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".. If you visit a website or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http:///. This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecured language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site. This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on. You understand why this is so important, right ? If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://. If it doesn't, You should NEVER enter sensitive information....such as a credit card number, SS # etc. PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief). !!! **Remember....be kind to your email friends! If you forward this, please remove all email addresses from the message part of your email, before you send it on. Use the BCC section so your friends' addresses remain private.**
  2. I have used an online store called boats.net to buy parts in the past. Since I haven't had many problems so not all that often but they have good prices. They are a boat place but they can sell motorcycle parts because they are a Yamaha dealer. I recieved an email from them that they have established a sister website dedicated to powersports. Here is a link to that site. http://www.powersportsplus.com/?utm_source=boatsnet-customer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=meet-our-sister They will give an extra 15% off for a while. The code is MEETSISTER.
  3. I got an email from Sean that he is now offering a new choke knob that matches the key cover that several of us have on our RSVs. I think it looks great and will be ordering one soon. He says that they are not yet on his website so to use the information in this flier if you wish to order one. http://www.venturerider.org/images/starparts.jpg

  5. Just curious what ya think of this video. One of our company's fans (Canadian) put this U-Tube video up as a review of some of the products that our company makes. The Boss and I liked it so much that we made arrangements for him to more videos to place up on the company's website. Like I mentioned , we like it and we wish to share it with you of your opinion. I know you will like it too, but if you see anything that might make it better, please let me know. By the way our companies website is www.hsgi.us and this will explain on what we do. 6. Was looking around at Custom Dynamics website and saw they have the 7" LED headlamp and 4 1/2" LED passing lamps...(Sorry, I have no clue how to load a website).
  7. www.crankyape.com Just thought I'd throw this out there. I have a relative that purchased a boat about a year ago from this website. They have motorcycles, campers, etc.
  8. I found this website today. I thought other campers may find it helpful. http://www.bikercamps.com/motorcycles-ride-lake-express-free-during-may-june It seems to have motorcycle friendly campsites across the country. Yama Mama
  9. Any ideas for a cheap cooler rack for my HF trailer? Seen a few posting about als motorcycle accessories. Doesn't appear the website works anymore so maybe he's not doing them anymore.
  10. I came across this site by accident last week. They have moved from South Carolina to a small town near me. I am going to contact them to see if they would possibly be interested in doing windshields for our Ventures. I don't see that it would be a big deal as long as they have a "pattern" for the base. Check out their website and give me some feedback about what you think about their products, and any potential interest. We're kinda limited in what's available aftermarket for the Venture, and I'm willing to provide a "mule". The link is, www.customflhtwindshields.net Thanks,
  11. I was looking at the Corbin website. It looks like they don't take returns. Interesting.
  12. Sorry it took so long I couldn't figure out how to resize my pictures for this website so I posted on photobucket. Check them out at http://s1025.photobucket.com/albums/y320/finfan125/Central%20KY%20Ride%202010/
  13. Going to look at an older trailer. Seller says it has been in the garage for the past ten years and is in very good shape. He is asking $500. Hope it's a good one and doesn't require much fixing. The website says a new one goes for at least $1500.
  14. I know we have a few PGR members on here. Anyone else having problems with the PGR website or is it just me?

  18. Ok, all you experts out there in 3 wheel land, who can tell who's kit this is? Found the pics on a UK motorcycle website. http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/Custom/yamaha-venture-royal.jpg
  19. OK, for lack of a better name that's all I could think of to call it. When I visit VR.org I pick up this website in the browsing history http://img121.imagehacks.info/img121/10 It doesn't take me anywhere when I try to go to it, can't get any properties info on it, and it only shows up when I visit VR.org. I'm a little concerned because of the 'hacks'. Anyone know what's going on?? Could we have some sort of crawler working the site?? I see it when I want to go back several pages and use the hot list to the right of the forward/back arrows.

  22. I received an email tonight that I thought I would pass along the heart of it. This website is to Say Thanks and show Support of our Troops. From the website..."The cooperation and generosity of multiple organizations has made it possible to send the millions of postcard messages submitted through this Web site. Xerox has partnered with Give2TheTroops, the Boys and Girls Clubs, print shops and corporations that have all greatly contributed to the success of Let’s Say Thanks." The site is http://www.letssaythanks.com I have never served in the military but I do support our troops. Our soldiers past and present are the reason that we enjoy the freedoms that so many take for granted. I sent my card. Hope some of you will too. Cheers, smalltowntx
  23. First and foremost, I do hope some of my questions help other people. I have done a search here and looked over the Venture History and also even looked at the Yamaha Website (terrible website by the way)...and I am trying to find out more information about the Venture-S. Can anyone tell me ALL of the differences between the standard Venture and the Venture-S (besides the color). What features and/or chrome and if the only difference is chrome...what pieces are added for the additional cost. Thanks. (I think I will be a Venture owner VERY soon). Wally
  24. Hey there, my mufflers on my 86 Venture are rusting out... anybody have a good set of used ones for sale?.... I noticed from searching this site that there was a group buy of Mac mufflers a while ago. I went to the Mac website and they do not show any parts available. Any advice on where to get a new slip on set-up if I can't find a used set? thanks for any help Gary
