  1. I have a friend that just bought a '93 Gold Wing trike. He had been trying to get back on a bike for several years but is slightly paralyzed in one arm and had to go with a trike. The front tire is a Dunlop EIII 130/70R-18 and is in need of changing. Are there any alternatives that he could use? It looks as if the trikes mainly upright stance wears out the center of the tire prematurely. Any suggestions? Thank you! Don
  2. Not sure if any of you Hannigan owners have seen or heard that Hannigan now has custom trike covers for the converted RSV. They run $118.00 with tax and shipping. I ordered one today and they happened to have one in stock, normally there is a 3 week wait on them as they are a custom item. for all there kits there only doing them for the RSV at this time. Harley and Honda have to wait ~S~.. I will post a picture if anybody is interested later after I receive the cover. Jeff
  3. This rsv 07 trike has been sitting for over a year.It runs good ,except it won't idle without the choke on.The trike has 276 miles on it.I have been reading about seafoam, how much should I put in a full tank of gas.
  4. I posted this in the Trike area a week ago and received no replies, to I thought I'd throw it out here. It is to help a friend that is trying to get back to biking again... Front tire for GW trike... I have a friend that just bought a '93 Gold Wing trike. 5. This is my first post,so be patient.I got offered a deal I don't think i can turndown.I can get an 07 RSV hannigan trike for $15k, it has low miles. What do you think.
  6. since i have lost 235 pounds ( i think 175 pounds were muscle) i am having trouble handling my venture.. it seem to have gained 400 pounds.. so i have decided to build a trike kit similar to the voyager trike kit.. being as money is the issue.. so i called my insurance man, and got the ok from him, that it is ok... so i have started my prototype.. so far this is where i am at.. if anyone with avoyager kit could send me pictures of how it hooks up to the rear of the bike, and the setup on the voyager frame that would help..
  7. Especially if it's a trike. I was just reading another post and a member was asking about leaving his bike in gear while starting and it brought back a memory for me. We had just left Kerrville Tx. heading home from our fantastic winter trip. After a couple of hours the Shuttle was getting low on jet fuel so I pulled into a truck stop on Hwy. 281 just north of Johnson City at Round Mountain. I get out and say hi to the fellow on the other side of the pump and get started on my fill up. The fellow on the other side gets in his pickup and start to leave but only goes a few feet and I see him jump out of his truck and start running out in front of it. Next thing I see is a white Goldwing trike with no rider backing up across in front of his pickup and heading right for my trailer. Lucky for me, and the trike owner, the pickup man was able to stop the trike with about three feet to spare. He shut the engine off and put the bike in gear just as the owner comes running out of the store. The first words out of his mouth, "you didn't shut it off did you". Apparently his charging system was out and the battery wouldn't start the bike. After giving him the lecture about leaving a vehicle parked in neutral without blocking the wheels or applying the brakes I calmed down. I explained to him what a bad day he and I both could of had. The pickup man and myself gave him a push and it started right up and he was on his way. All's well that ends well. I can laugh about it now but it sure wasn't funny at the time.
  8. Hope you don't mind us drawing attention to it here in the watering hole but fear it may not be noticed in the "other bikes section" - Just listed in the classifieds. 93 goldwing trike. I know - It's not a venture but maybe someone here knows someone that wants a wing. 15oo/6. It's got a roadsmith trike kit - with easy steer. My wife needs to get rid of it to get a work truck (We are keeping the TD). Check out the classified and see if you have any questions.
  9. Wizard765 and Marcarl came down this afternoon and we took a little ride before dinner. It's a whole different world but I'm starting to really like it!!! Stil gonna keep Goldie for 2 wheels and ride both frequently but I can see eventually selling Goldie and keeping the trike forever..
  10. Is anyone using the Tow-Pac Trike Kit. I have been considering this kit but I am still on the fence. My knees are shot and I need some help holding the Venture up at stops. Thanks.
  11. Come on Bob it's Friday and I think it's the day your supose to pick up that new trike. Don't hold back from us. Pict's and more pict's or it never happended.
  12. Here is a trike conversion that is unique, to say the least!
  13. Finally got Don's trike painted the way he wants. At least for now, he says. A friend painted flames on the front fairing, front fender, tank & rear fenders. Another friend painted Don's signature "B2 Stealth" on the back trunk lid. I think it looks really great. Wanted to share it with you. It was such a beautiful day today and poor guy still can't ride. Hopefully his hand will heal soon and he will be on the road while poor me is at work making that "gas money". LOL! Let us know what you think. Bad news...

A guy i know was killed in a farm accident this weekend. Mike was 58 years old, he was caught in a grain bin and suffocated. It is a terrible tragedy, anybody who lives on, or grew up on a farm, knows how dangerous this can be. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Knoll family of Conde S.D. Mike was a good person, and had just taken delivery of a Harley trike last Friday. He took a quick spin down the road and back. His accident happened on saturday. Mike is survived by a wife, 3 daughters, and a Harley trike with 3 miles on it. At least he got to feel a little wind in his face. PEACE MIKE........
  15. I know this may not really belong here, but this thread gets the most attention and I'm truly trying to find out if anyone knows who's bike this is OR, who's trike kit it is. If you look at the second picture, there's a USA flag in the background so it should be here in the country, not the UK like I originally thougt because it came off a UK Bike site. Any help would be appreciated.

    RSV & GW Trikers

I have been a regular reader (and a few times contributed) in the General Discussion section. I have a VStar 1100 Silverado and have been getting smart on the RSV with the intention of pulling the trigger sometime in the next year or so. However, after a few 300-400 miles rides on my Silverado lately and some minor health issues, I have had to ask myself if an RSV was really the bike I should be getting. I was concerned about several things from the get-go (weight of bike, top heaviness, and a 30" inseam). I have learned about a number ways to combate these issues but not mother nature, older age, and the lack of fun at the end of the day. I thought even if I only got a year or two out of a new RSV, it would be still be worth it. Now I am not sure that is possible. So now comes the big question for those of you who own BOTH an RSV and a Gold Wing trike. If you were to go to Hannigans and buy one of his trikes (new or a year old) which would you get? I am 68, no family or esponsibilities, and after getting the trike (and some practice time) I want to smell the roses in the western USA. Money is not a big concern and I do plan on keeping my 2005 Silverado for DQ runs. In summary...which would make the better trike (assuming both had the same conversion)? My gut is telling me the GW is the smarter choice, I just wish it looked more like a motorcycle. oldsalt
  18. Having just retired, so got to watch money, and really like the part about doing it myself, I'm going to order a Tri-Wing kit for my 05 venture in the morning. So what do you all think of that, good move or not. I know hanigans are nicer, but this is my way to trike it and keep money cost down some. Your imput is welcome.
  19. I am going to purchase a trike and trying to decide between the Hannigan or Motor Trike. Please give me opinions. I dont know which sales person to believe.
  20. I'm wondering.... Don has mentioned a few times that now that he's "triked" the bike, that maybe I should learn how to ride it and then get my "endorsement". I kept saying no, no, no. I enjoy the backseat alot. It's a great way to just unwind after working all day or after a hard week, we can just ride on the weekend. However, after alot of thinking, I decided maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all. I came home from work the other day and said sure, honey..you may be right. I think it's time (when the weather gets a little better) to teach me to ride the trike. Then I can get my motorcycle license....AND THEN I CAN RIDE THE TRIKE TO WORK!!!! The look on his face was PRICELESS!!! And then he said heck no! or something to that effect.... Don't you think that is WRONG???? If I learn to ride it, and get my license, why shouldn't I get to ride it to work. He doesn't work..he's retired..he has OTHER TRANSPORTATION...why can't I have my turn at it???? Any thoughts???? Pat
  21. At the Toronto International Bike Show today, I saw an 05 RSV with a Voyageur trike kit. It was in amazing condition, with only 1750 miles on it. I talked with the current owner who said it was owned by the proverbial "little old lady who had health problems". Apparently, her husband had the identical bike/trike. The owner is asking $13,500 obo. Don't know whether that is a good price (especially here in Canada as new RSV's are over $20,000 at the show. Also don't know whether these trike kits work well. Apparently it is easily removable so the RSV can be rode with or without it or it could be sold if there is a market for these. Interested in opinions on these kits as well as the price. Also, I have the guys contact info if others are interested. I have tried to attach some pics.
  22. Picked up Trike Sat.:banana: Will try to up load pict
  23. need some opinions on how much a 1991 Goldwing GL1500 Trike w/trailer is worth. the bike has 91K miles, has reverse and seems to be in great condition. everything appears to be working on the trike. this bike and trailer were just donated to our camp and we possibly will be selling it shortly. 1991 Goldwing GL1500 http://i48.tinypic.com/20sulft.jpg
  24. Spotted an 08 RSV three wheeler in Paducah, KY yesterday on my way to work. It looked like a Hannigan (spelling)mod. Good looking trike. Wanted to know if the rider frequents this site. Glenn
  25. Veterans , Now that's a trike!!!! This is an awesome paint job of a tribute to Vietnam Veterans. The bike is a Boss Hoss, and the company that makes them uses Chevy 502 cu in Big Block engine. http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=5 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=6 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=7 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=8 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=9 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=11 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=12 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=13 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=14 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=15 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=17 http://webmail.aol.com/28878/aol-1/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=1.26197098&folder=NewMail&partId=18
