I have just signed my final divorce papers now just waiting for the judge to do the same. This is my first divorce and hopefully my last, we were married for 20 years and have 2 kids. My daughter is 19 and in college and she is fine with all that is going on, my son is 15 and mad as hell at me right now.I am not saying that this was all her fault and it was not all mine, but she has got my son thinking that I left them for no reason and he won't even speak to me now. I know this won't last forever, and I was just wondering if any other dads out there have been through the same thing and how long did it take before things kinda got backto normal. Joel

I have an Avon 130 front tire that I installed a little over a year ago and it only has about 2000 miles on it, maybe a little less. I havent done much riding here. I am pulling the front forks off to replace the bearings and while im doing this im considering going back to the 150 front tire. If I decide to do so, im just wondering if anyone here would be interested in buying the 130 Avon from me. I was thinking in the 50.00 range since you would still get at least another 15k out of it. Any interest?

I guess this question would best be answered by members who have or have had both 1st gen and 2nd gen scoots. Back in Dec I sold my HD ultra to save some cash and go back to a RSV. Lately I’ve seen several 1st gen for sale with fairly low miles on different sites on the web. This got me thinking about parking a 1st gen in my garage. So can someone tell me what some of the major differences are between 1st and 2nd gen’s? Is there a better year to look for in the 1st gen?

I have been thinking of following the lead of Sledgehammer, Shot, Cerviperus, and others and changing my 'handle' or screen name. Like many others I simply used a screen name that I used in other areas because I was not sure about what I would find when I joined this club. Well, I have been around for a year and a half and don't plan on going anywhere since I have found this great family. I am thinking of changing it to something more in line with my personality GRUMPY , but that name is already taken by another member. So I need some help from you now in helping me to pick a good new potential name, some of my ideas (and my kids) are as follows: Grumpydad GrumpyNate Grumpy1 Tell me what you think of these names and feel free to add any suggestions that you may have (for those of you that know me.............try to take it easy on me:whistling:)

I am thinking of putting an aux gas tank on my 86. I would like it not to be over the back seat or in the trunk or saddle bags. Has anyone installed such a tank? Broke my Rt side mirror off completely, even the glass. Went looking for spares and I think I could get hen's teeth easier. Stealer wants over 200, fleabay has a couple for a hundred or more. I just don't have that kind of money. I'm thinking about trying to put a pair on from another brand of bike... ones that are not gold plated . Anyone tried that before, if so, how did it work out? -
Hi all! Sorry I havent posted in a while but I've just been busier than a cat trying to bury a turd on a marble floor! When I ran across this add on CL for a near by 1stgen parts bike I thought I'd take a minute to mention it in case there is anyone in need. Also, if anyone talks to the guy and needs someone local to check something out on it or anything I'd be happy to try and find a little time to help out. I'm thinking about checking out the tow hitch parts myself. I will set aside a little time here in the next couple days to catch up on some posting and all that stuff. I need some help from a master fabricator. im thinking that i would like to put those big mirrors on my bike.. you know the ones like on a pick up truck for towing a camper or something.. my thinking is if i put these big mirrors on my bike i will be able to keep better track of all the first gen's that are behind me dont want to loose anyone ...:stirthepot::big-grin-emoticon:

I have the 07 RSTD in black and have been thinking about taking the tank emblem off. Has anyone done this? If so can you post up a pic? I would like to see what it looks like before I take em off. I am thinking it might add to that simple black and chrome "classic" look.. Thanks, Shep

Hey, riders, I have a friend - Elgato - who just joined here today. He has a bike (dark side ) and wants to get it out here to Nor Cal. "The bike is in San Antonio. Was thinking about I-10W to LA, and then up to here.". Any idea on how he might be able to do this? He would encounter snow in some mountains wouldn't he? Thanks in advance for any help.

I was looking for a pair of Chaps, but these do not have a belt. They have a loop that goes around your belt and may be called Leggings. Saw them for 200 bucks today and was thinking I could get them a little cheaper. Any suggestions where to find a pair ? Thanks Brad

My son in law and I were going to ride today and when we started up gas poured out of his bike onto the ground. The bike is a 1996 Royal Star and it looks like the gas is coming out of the overflow from the carbs on the left side. I am thinking it is a stuck float, but we are having no luck on getting the problem resolved. We have the tank and air filter off the bike. Anyone have any tips on how to get this fixed?

Anybody here know anything about Indian motorcycles? I've found an old one that needs a LOT of work. It's a small one, probably manufactured by Royal Enfield and badged for Indian. He's not sure what size it is. He said maybe 350cc but I'm thinking maybe 500cc. I haven't seen it in person, only these very bad photos. The vin number is vin#e11512147 1e513 Not sure if the last part of that number is actually part of the vin or not. Year model is 1956

Just curious if there was a way to highlight a thread which I may have posted in. Is it possible to add something like a star or something beside a thread which I previously made a post in. There are so many new threads each day, I was thinking this would remind us of a post we may have made in a particular thread. Just an idea. Not sure if it is possible ? BRad

I have a 2005 RSTD with 18,500 miles on it. I maintain it meticulously. How many miles can I expect it to live? I am thinking it should be like a car and go for WELL over 100,000 miles. What do you think?

.........your sitting on the throne in the bathroom thinking about the ride you had today, you lean into the corner your thinking about and hit your head on the sink. .........you come to a stop and open the door and put your foot down. .........you have turned on the wipers, the turn signals and hit the horn trying to find the clutch and hand brake. ...........you start ducking all those big bugs hitting the windshield OR your hanging your head out the window trying to catch lunch! ..........you strap you tank bag on the hood of the car. .........you strap your saddle bags to the trunk of the car. . .........you just tried to split lanes between two very large trucks (ie. Cali ). .........you are driving with all your riding gear on. I'm sure you folks could come up with a few. KURT

How many repack your bearings every 16k miles like the manual says? I have almost 30k miles now and was thinking maybe I need to do it this winter but it looks like it's gonna be a job.

Not sure if I posting this in the right section, but I just spent about an hour looking around the forums here . Nice info here. My problem is this, I have a 97 Royal Star 4 piper, she has nasty boys on her from what Im told. I think they starting to get loud or Im just getting bothered by them more. I was looking around and thinking of changing over the 2 piper system. Im not sure if theres certain years I should be looking for. Does anyone know of a complete system for sale for my ride? Or perhaps just the head pipes, as I hear the stock mufflers sound crappy and would probably get some HD take offs. Thanx

last couple of weeks been having a bit of a snag with my 86, comming home from work i had lost a couple of cylenders as if it was wet, thinking that it could be coils or cti box, well i had got put new plugs in, thinking that a couple of them would be wet or carboned,and i hadn't put new pugs in her for years so i'd done it, the old ones looked good and on the left side the plugs looked good, but you could see a light coating of mixture on them from not fireing recently, put the newones in and fired it up ran good, shut it down for a few minutes to put covers on, then fired it up again and had the same miss on a cylender, #1, now i can fire it up and sounds rough, but fires on all 4 put a few miles on it and then it idels rough, just about sounds like it is just a tad late, can this happen, cause the original trip home from work where i had lost 2 of them, one would kick in periodicaly and fire for a bit then die out, then cut back in, this is why i am thinking coils or cti box, doing this there is a possability that i could have blown some carbon loose on my exhoust ststem, which would cause it to sound different, but i just haven't convinced myself that that is what i am hearing, because on the end of the tail pipe, it just sounds like it is firing on a partial open exhaust, fuel mileage isn't much different than normal, and the power is simular also,

I keep hearing the stories of the ME880's coming apart but I'm just got to thinking... Is it the front, rear or both?
