I purchased a hitch from Denray. They said I should install a Denray hitch part number 71 on my 86 Venture Royal. After it arrived I held it up under the back of the bike to size up the installation. It doesn't look wide enough to attach to the saddle bag supports. I may be wrong but will know soon as I am in the process of removing a failed hitch. Has anyone else installed a Denray hitch on the 86 version of the Venture Royal? If so what was the part number of the hitch. Perhaps Denray accidentally packed the wrong hitch.

Do I have to purchase the chrome rails that go around the side (not on the lid) of the saddlebags from Yamaha? Do other manufacturers fit? Also, does the set shown in the Yammie catalogue for the Royal Star, they come to a point on the front, fit the RSV? Thanks. -

i bought these seats off of ebay thay fit royal star 99 and up i am told i have royal star venture thay wont fit venture [ not a mark on them] BEST OFFER FOR THEM

I am in the process of ordering parts to repair my 2005 R S T D. I am looking at switching saddlebags. I want to replace the O E M hard bags with the leather covered Royal Star tour classic saddlebags part # STR-4NL73-02-00 These fit the 97-2001 Royal Stars and current Road Stars. I can make some modifications if necessary, but am not as handy as some of you. I thought they might make my bike look a little different. Anyone having experience with these bags please jump in. Thanks in advance.

I was looking to buy a cruiser when I discovered that my old 83 Venture Royale is basicly the same as a V-max or a Royal Star, and so I have decided to strip all the plastic off of it, and turn it into a Royal Star. Is there anything I should be aware of before I start? -

I visited some sites that have Denray Hitches and see these both listed. What is the difference, I was unable to find much on these sites. Just wanted to say I am one HAPPY camper...Just installed a new set of Dunlop 404's on my 83, it's like it is a completly different bike. The handling is awsome, it is soooo much fun to ride. The wife gave permission to "upgrade" to a newer bike, we are looking at either a Valkyrie Interstate or a Yamaha Royal Star Venture, price will probably determine what I buy. That being said, I don't want to get rid of my 83 royal.

I have the stock seat on my Royal Star and it's a pain after about 100 miles. Is there a newer Royal seat that will fit on my bike or does anyone have one for sale? I tried a ProPad on the way to Rolling Thunder this las weekend and took it off after around 125-150 miles. It was no better then the stock seat. By the way I saw several RSV in the parade was any of you guys there?

Does anyone know if gears from a Royal Star or 2nd Gen are interchangeable with a 1st Gen? Looking to use a 5th gear and pinion out of a Royal Star or 2nd Gen as an overdrive for a 1st Gen.

I just added this article from Pegscraper. It is also linked from the tech library. The biggest complaint about the orginal Royal Stars was the lack of power. This does not look to be a cheap solution but the Dyno results show that it is a GREAT solution. Hi Guys, I have just bought a 2007 Royal Star Tour Deluxe as my 06 RSTD was totalled when I hit a Bear. Anyways my buddy has a RSV and I love the trunk on the back of his bike. I am thinking it would fit my RSTD if only I could find one used or if someone has one here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
