My kickstand irritates me. It is quite stiff requiring an extra "kick" to get it to fully extend down. I grease it to no avail. I tried to remove it today but you have to remove the shift linkage to get the darn bolt out. I cleaned everything as best I could a reapplied grease. No real change. It works real fast and smooth if I've been riding in the rain. It snaps down with nary a thought. I did notice a fair amount of up and down play. Does anybody else's act the same way?

I had mentioned my BSA in a post recently and had a request to put some pictures in my Gallery. The pictures there are not real good, I'll have to take some better ones some day. Enjoy, BOO

I have an 8 year old HP Pavilion Mellinum that I have upgraded over the years with XP and another memory board. I have evidently gotten in to something that has infected it real bad. I have used spybot on it over the years and it has helped, but even spybot is not working good now. A guy at work suggested I go on line under Averi and use a program there. I did and Cyberdefender came up and did a scan. It is telling me that I have 59 infections and I need to spend about $30 to get them removed. I don't mind the $30, but I have heard that some of these programs are full of problems also. Any of you computer gurus got and good, cheap, effective suggestions? Thanks, RandyA

I'm entering my first rear tire change on my Venture. In talking to the local motorcycle tire shop guy, he's telling me that Yamaha's are a real pain, a lot to remove etc, etc. Is it really that difficult or is his GoldWing mentality getting in the way ??

Well folks, placed the order for the 2009 PIP Guest of Honor. Have ordered a 100-110 pound dressed pit ready hog. Hopefully I will have to change that order for a larger hog. But for now, at least it's ordered. So, if you still haven't registered, Juggler has made it real easy. Just visit www.porkinthepines.com. And remember, donations only this year.

I noticed yesterday, that when I take off from a stop, there is a popping sound from the rear, or sounds like the rear any way. the sound is almost like if you hold 2 pipes together end for end and then make them pop apart..I plan on checking it out real good this week end, in between all my honey do`s..... could this be the rear splines that I am hearing?? Thanks,

Just got my new '09 RSV last friday. Love the bike, even with th e few small delivery/set-up issues (Missing passenger intercom cable/connector)!! It's a real upgrade from the VTX I also own. I'm looking forward to "meeting" all of you here on the forum, and hopefully in the real world as well. Here's the question. I've seen a few threads that refer to "passing Lamps." I assume those are the same thing Honda riders call "Highway Lights." The small, but very bright additional lights on the front of the bike either above or below the turn signals. If I've got that right, let me ask... Are these something I should try and install myself, or is it better left to the service dept. to do for me. Also, with the Honda, a modification was necessary to allow these lamps to work with the Headlamp operating in High-beam mode. Is this true with th RSV as well? Waiting to hear from you all. Anybody close to me in North Texas? Thanks in advance. Troy Crow

the brake line from the rear master cylinder to the front left brake runs UP to the top of the tree and then DOWN to the front left bake cylinder It seems that it will be a real B____H to bleed there is likely a simple solution Looking for someone to tell me how to do it ?? Thanx Merv

Now that I got my 97 Wing, I need a service-repair manual. Not Chilton & especially not Haynes. I found one for my 86VR, online, & it was great, but that laptop konked & I don't have the address. The price was very reasonable. Not like the ones on eBay & other sites. Seemed like it was repairmanuals.com or something real obvious like that. Cost about $22. They have 'em for most every bike. Anyone know the site?

You folks our west know her, but since hdhtr moved to NC we hadn't had the privilege of meeting his Mrs. He's been to plenty of meets but she never makes them. So some might have thought either she didn't exist or maybe just maybe he was keeping her locked away some where. Well I found out she's real and here's the proof. Now some of you may just recognize that tarp Steve is on well I have it now. So Squid if you end up mailing the dirt let me know so I can send the tarp too. Margaret

Started my day off real good, got all leathered out, gonna ride into Town to give Gunboat a hand and the Green Beast turned over 2 times and that was it..so off with the seat, put the tester on the battery and it showed 12.2V but that was not enough to crank her, put it the charger and it would never reach a full charge, so it was off on a hunt to buy a new one, all I could find was one that you have to add the acid and charge your self, this says that there are plates in it that absorb 100% of the acid so that it will be spill proof, any one heard of that? any way, gonna wait till tomorrow to put it back in the beast and see how it does..

I dont know if this is in the correct place but I am having a problem with the clutch slipping on my 08 rsv. This problem only started after i changed the oil last week, went to the synthetic oil that the dealer recommended. I noticed it on the first ride after the change, it seems to only happen in 4th or 5th gear and is not real bad but it is bad enough that I can feel it. Are there any adjustments that can be made or does it need to just go back to the dealer for repairs? Thanks for any help. MURPH

This may be a Big shot in the dark, but...Wondering if Anyone on this site knows of a guy (that has posted his real nice lookin bike/paint job on his 2nd Gen Venture). I found the pics once, but can't find it again!! It's a Teal color bike (base color) with some real nice murals of Indians and Indian type "things" on it. He also is a Amsoil dealer and i met up with him at some training we both attended in Norman OK. His number on his bussiness card has been changed. Anyone?? Anyone?? I DO know his real full name, but dont think he uses that has his login name on this site. Anyone? Anyone? Dav?

Met a rare person yesterday, she came all the way to Brantford to see me, she laughs, talks, walks, hugs and is real. She good looking, pleasant personality, has some good comebacks, and hangs with an awesome guy. Too bad you all won't get to meet her on the weekend. Her name is MARY, and she's not contrary, fact is, she's real nice, or did I say that already. No she's not my new wife, Marca is still with me (don't know why) she came with GaryN. I just think he wanted to show her off to somebody important (why did he pick me?) man,,,,,, I could have scared her off for good. All said,,, what I said is true and I'm looking forward to see more of those two this summer,,,by the way, she likes to ride.

We recently compared in the showrooms most of the tour bikes again: Venture, Gold Wing, Electra Glide Classic, and BMW’s offering. For room and "back seat approval" the Venture wins. Just can’t get ourselves to "Do It;" On any of those available choices. Fact is there are no bad ones, they are all good and/or better in some way or the other. The wife loves her 2008 400 Burgman, and is hinting on the 2009 650 version for me. You know, in the real world it just might be the right choice. When my lady speaks, I listen. Believe it or not, It’s down to Venture or Burgman 650. Almost worlds apart yet so close to our riding needs.

Friend: You call 'em at 2 am to bail you out and they say "I'll see what I can do in the morning" Good friend: Gets same call and says "I'll be right down with bail". REAL GOOD FRIEND- That's the one sitting next to you saying "Wasn't that fun?"

Well my friends it is that time of year again...No this isnt about Politics, but REAL HOPE. As I know winter is setting in for our fellow members up North. My Pledge to ALL of you is that I will unselfishly continue riding in our wonderful weather down here and YES,I will TRY and post many pictures so that Real HOPE will stay in your minds that yes one day the white stuff will leave your area and once again you can mount up and ride again. I thought of all this today as I rode to Llano,Texas and that area of our Hill Country As I was going over the Mountain that Overlooks LBJ lake a fellow Venture Rider,SapperMedic called and we arranged a meet in Marble Falls , Texas at the Bluebonnet Cafe. This was the first time I had met Brian and his wife Marsha. It was an Honor. Seeing all the other bikes there I just thought of ALL of you and had to share my message of HOPE! Tom
