  17. I received this e-mail tonight from South Seattle - thought I would share. Dear valued customer: We here at South Seattle Sports Plaza, are facing a dilemma that has us torn between some directions in which we need to move to further provide you with all your motor-sports needs. First question is, do we drop our current discount to between 15 and 20 percent like all the other dealers, giving that extra profit to Google and Yahoo to stay in the top positions of their search pages? Or, do we keep our discount at 27 percent and cut our expenses on search engines and hope our customers keep spreading the word to receive the volume of business we need to support that high of a discount? On Yamaha’s last price update Oct 1st, they not only did a major price increase but they also dropped the dealers’ profit margins on thousands of items. One example is the new Star custom wheel kits. The front wheel for a Road Star, part number 5C7-f54E0-V0-00, retail is 1449.95 and dealer cost is 1087.50. Our price is 1087.46 on our website. This is like many other accessory items that have a 25% or fewer profit margin and we loose money. That is the bad news. In these times things have increasingly slowed and we are in need your business and that of your friends now and in the future. So for the good news, we are going to leave the 25% discount on accessories where it is and has been for the last couple years and increase the parts discount to 30%. We will keep these prices until February 2009 and then change the parts discount to 25% and the accessories discount to 22%. I would also like to add that right now our Star inventory is well stocked and we have a lot of items that Yamaha even has on backorder. When ordering parts, if you see something that says backorder, we still might be able to get it out of Japan or even have it in stock. If you order a backorder item and it will be awhile before available, we will contact you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Thank You, Dan McVeigh yamahasportsplaza.com ysppart.com allyamaha.com onlyyamaha.com

I just want to let 1stGen'rs know that I still have group buy fork braces left for $60 bucks. The price just keeps getting better as long as SB keeps raising theirs..... 19. Any one have a set of front turn signals they are not using? Or know of a good place to buy generic bolt on ones that aren't to expensive? With a baby on the way my mods have to be on the low end of the price scale. The previous owner converted to very small leds and I'd like some brighter signals up front.

    Free Food

I posted the following from here... http://blog.yourmoney.ca/2009/11/price-scanner-free-food.html Watch the price scanner to get your food for free Standing in the supermarket checkout line waiting for your food to scan can be as much fun as watching paint dry. But if you watch carefully and spy a scanner price error, you could score that grocery item for free. Mistakes on electronic price scans are common at the grocery store. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has found that errors occur in 1 out of every 32 regularly priced items. Errors are more common on sale items, with 1 out of 28 items being overcharged to consumers. The cost of being overcharged at the till can add up to many dollars per month per family. But in Canada, spotting a scanner error could save you up to $10 per item. The Retail Council of Canada has a Scanner Price Accuracy Voluntary Code that states: If the correct price of the product is $10 or less, the retailer will give the product to the customer free of charge; or If the correct price of the product is higher than $10, the retailer will give the customer a discount of $10 off the corrected price. As a consumer, all you have to do to qualify is watch as your groceries are scanned at the checkout and verify that prices are accurate. If you see an error, don’t be afraid to ask the cashier to give you the item for free. If your cashier is unaware of the policy, ask for a manager or go to the customer service desk to claim your free food. Over the years I've used the Scanner Price Accuracy Voluntary Code to my benefit. This year alone I've claimed at least $20 in free groceries due to price scanning errors. At times I've had to explain the code to confused cashiers, but many times I've walked away with free food by just asking. Many participating supermarkets post this code at checkout, so don't be wary of asking whenever you see a mistake. Being overcharged at the till can really add up! The occasional free food item is great, but to help you keep weekly grocery costs down be sure to plan ahead with a shopping list. Download this free Printable Grocery Shopping List to help you: Save money by curbing impulse food buys. Identify healthy and frugal foods on a single master list. Save time grocery shopping. Never forget another grocery item. See the Retail Council of Canada for a list of stores that are committed to accurate scanner pricing with the Scanner Price Accuracy Voluntary Code. Your Turn: Do you spy scanner price errors at the grocery checkout? Do you say something about it? Posted at 04:15 AM in Food and Drink, Personal Finance, Saving, Tips | Permalink
  25. Pardon my ignorance, but I have pictures on the forum of my Venture Royale not that it matters but I'm wondering. I have the bike up for sale cause it is too big for me (short at one end). The highest offer iv'e got for this bike so far is $1800.00 I'm in Alberta. Is there something wrong with me cause I feel I will burn it and watch the flames and savor the heat before I let it go for that. The bike is perfect. Am I being unrealistic about price are these bikes worth nothing? She's an 85 but I have seen smaller bikes go for a lot more. Can someone clue me in please, I'm really not an advanced bike guy Thanks, good on ya and Cheers
