1. Does anyone have a clear taillight lens they would be willing to sell? I can't find just a clear lens. I am planning on purchasing an led taillight from radiantz or custom dynamics, and would like to get a clear lens to go with them. I realize clear alternatives makes an led kit that comes with a clear lens, but it has no license plate lights like the others, so I don't want that one. 05 RSTD
2. Anyone remember what the part number is for the tow only shift arm for a 2nd Gen??? I know I read on the board some place where Yamaha makes one..... I'd do a search, but I don't even know what they are called....
3. Put the scoot through her paces this morning with my RLAP routine....That clutch job that kbran did this week really makes the difference!!! Boomer.....who had the pygmies in the parking lot climbing the light poles.
4. It seems like every time I turn around I am wanting to buy something else for my RSV. I'm kind of afraid to add it up. Makes me wonder - what's the most money w/0 triking that someone has put into their RSV or Tour Deluxe after purchasing the bike?
5. I had my bike lowered with lowering links which makes my bike much easier to move around when I'm just rolling it around in parking lots..or even the garage. Anyway, although the kickstand works OK as it is now...ANY type of sloping surface (even the slightest slope) makes it feel like the bike is sitting straight up, so I want to SHORTEN my kickstand. So I bought a used kickstand on eBay and got it today. I thought my neighbor could fix this for me, but he says he can't weld cast iron...so now I am looking for someone to shorten the kickstand for me (preferably someone that has done this before). I would want a finished look and will pay for the job. I did look in the classifieds, but couldn't any appropriate section (maybe "wanted to buy"), but decided I would post here first. Anyone interested? Wally
6. Leaving for the hospital. Our oldest granddaughter is in labor with her first child. This will be our 2nd great granchild...another boy. She went into labor at 2 am. Will keep you posted. Pat and Don PS. It makes us feel so old!!!
7. what makes a good football game
8. Hello all, I had been running my business and storing equipment at a friends 5 acres, and 2 months ago bought the place. The neighbor had a little camp fire, thought it was out. The grass was brown and dry from frost. Here's the results: http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=22564.html (pics and more details are already posted at this ^ site, makes me sick looking at them, hope this doesn't break any posting rules) I will know more Tuesday when the Insurance Adjuster comes out. The '88 VR is safe ( but I had the tank and side covers in the shed!) Pray for Haiti, I'll be OK.
9. It's not a big deal, I know, but I'm going into surgery tuesday for carpal tunnel and to fix my trigger finger (both on my left hand). It makes me a little angry because they say I'll not be riding the bike for probably 4-6 weeks. That will basically kill any potential riding (any the weather has been looking up of late) that I might have been able to do shortly, when they finish the paving job on our street. (haven't had the bike out at all, because of it for about 6 weeks now, as it is. I'm starting to get a little punchy) That's an inconvenience and a pain in the neck; I get that. What makes the hair on the back of my neck tingle is that the last time I had "minor" surgery, being sedated / anesthetised precipitated my heart attack a few days later. (a not uncommon occurrence or so they said [which by the way they didn't tell me until after the fact]). What is most irritating is the little, small, niggling, ill feeling I get when I think about it. I mean it just irks me that it happens. I know y'all know what I mean. ANYWAY, those of you who are willing.....if you would, drop my name in a prayer, tonight, just in case! Thanks! I really appreciate it.
10. i often see boomer calling the bikes maytag? if i recall maytags where allways never breaking down? the repair man on the ads never had to come and fix them? he was allways lonley? and if maytag did indeed build theses bikes. wouldnt maytag come to mean makes a yamaha that allways goes therfore maytag= makes a yamaha that allways goes.
11. Old question but can anyone steer me to a member who makes these brackets. Thanks for the help.
12. In regards to my recent thread about Post Whoring, my warped sense of humor sometimes wanders out where the busses don't run. My interpretation of a post whore was merely someone who makes a lot of posts, period. However, after going to Urban Dictionary I've discovered that is no longer the case, and the term has been elaborated on, categorized, molded, analized, and in general turned in to something not so nice. My original intent was just to attract your attention to congratulate you on wining the St Judes fleece auction, and not to criticize, insult, or bring any negative attention to you. I was out of line with my post, and do humbly apologize. Yama Mama is a fine example of the type of character that makes up this "Family" here. She is constantly spreading her joy to everyone and is a pleasure to know. I have never read anything negative she has posted, and am glad to know her...
13. Under the right side cover (the one above the passenger floorboard) there are 2 relays. The larger one is black and is the flasher relay. The other is blue. Does anyone know what this relay is for? Just noticed today that mine makes a buzzing sound when the key is on and the bike is in gear. Put it in neutral and the buzzing stops. Wondering if this is normal or if the relay is going south for the winter.
14. MY '87 VENTURE HAS A HEAL/TOE SHIFTER ON IT AND A CUSTOM SEAT AND I FIND WY LEGS ARE BENT BACK UNDER ME WHEN I SHIFT OR USE BREAK PEADLE. THE SEAT MAKES ME SIT ALMOST ON THE GAS TANK AND PUTS THOSE CONTROLS UNDER ME. I HAVE A 30" INSEAM BUT I AM 6' TALL. Any IDEAS??? THANKS!
15. We are going to be in Chatt for a week or better and will be trailering the bike down. I will also be going to heading down to Chatsworth Ga to see some friends. If anyone is interested in hooking up for one of the best Burgers in the world, let me know. I have a secret place in Chatt that makes them.
16. $6K and two new hearing aids, later! my keyboard actually makes noises when i type. my hard drive makes a sound ,i never knew that! i thought they were silent! i guess i might even start watching T.V. again, now that i can hear it. just jt
17. I have a 96 RSTD with a factory hydraulic shock.........with two up, and some gear for the weekend, the rear bottoms out.......I'm 6'4" and 280 wife is 6 foot and 200. So I don't know if anyone makes a performance shock, or I'd be better off with an air shock unit, and have found NO sources for modification other than o.e. replacment......any help?
18. Rider Magazine reports on the test of Victory Vision, Kawasaki Voyager, HD Ultra and Star Venture. The results are here http://www.ridermagazine.com/output.cfm?id=2226349 Makes me proud to own a Venture.....now all those HD guys can go jump in a lake.
19. The 2010 harleys were announced today on thier web site. No big changes, nothing water cooled. Same old thing, with some different names. I sure hope Yamaha makes more changes then HD did.
20. I have an 84 VR and am not happy with the hot starting issue. Changed the cables and using an Odyssey battery. It has never NOT started but sometimes makes me nervous. Can someone tell me what years of the V-Max would fit? Wayne
21. Got home tonight and realized I had forgotten to get the mail on Saturday, and what do we have but the 2009 Dillon Aero Calendar, It went all the way to Afghanistan before being routed back to me. Anyone that loves big weaponry knows that Dillon Aero makes the M134 Gatling gun, but their calendar has become a classic in the military circles. Here's the cover
22. What in Gods green earth makes these small tow behind motorcycle trailers so cotton pickin' expensive? Major manufactures have these things priced up in the same area as a full blown 6X12/14 tandem axel enclosed trailer. No way does it cost anywhere near what one of those would cost to build. And the scarry thing is.... folks are actually spending the long green to buy them. i know there are cheapies out there on the market, but I'm talking about the Bushtec's, ION's, ZZ's etc. When one of these things is priced at 4 grand retail plus shipping and they are selling direct it really makes me wonder..... I come out of the boating industry and no way does is cost that much to lay one of these things up in fiberglass, and that much in labor and material to finish one off....
23. Just bought an 88VR with a braket for a backrest, but it is missing the actual backrest. Don't think it is a Yamaha accessory. Can anybody tell from the picture who makes this and does anybody know where I might find the matching backrest that attaches to the bracket shown in the picture?
24. I saw a very cool trunk fairing lightbar the other day. Wondered if anyone has any leads on who makes or sells them. I've attached a pic. Thanks.
