Breaking down today a first for my 20 yr old bike. I was able to use my smart phone to access this site for help but I had a hard time finding info. People are all different and have different way of describing their problem making it a little more challenging to locate relevant info. I'm proposing a webmd type symptom checker that would help assist individuals to quickly assess a situation and find relevant info to help their situation quickly. It might be something simple and get them up and running quickly. I'm willing to compile the info and various links to accomplish this for 1st gens unless you have something that accomplishes this already. Good idea? Bad idea?

Just bought it, has 43,00 miles and I have a couple of questions. The temp gage is not working, neither is the cruise. Found some good info on the sight regarding the cruise. Also the previous owner tells me he's never had any valve shim work done and was wondering if that should be done. The bike rides a bit rough and the gas mileage is around 30 mpg. I think it should be closer to 45, but not sure. Have to race the engine a bit to get going. I also own a 1982 CB900C that runs really smooth and almost takes off in 1st without giving any throttle (that's in high with the 10 speed trans). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Who has this trike kit? how do you like it? any problems with handling? steering?drive train? fit and finish? I am looking at a 99 RSV with this kit. Any info would be very helpful.

I don't have a cell phone and don't particularly want one. That said it appears that a cell phone could be considered as a necessary piece of safety chrome. I'm coming to Cody so if I buy one in Canada, can I make calls in the US or do I need to buy one in the US for that? Obviously I know squat about this topic so any reasonably accurate info will be much appreciated.

hello everyone since im on social security now and broke most of the time i thought i would invest in a business so i am now selling solar powerd dryers they are cheap and let me tell you work great. so if your interested just let me know i will need a little info from you the info i need is the distance between the trees you have to install this great item allso i sell it by the foot only you can get theses at any local place like wal-mart ..kmart. home depo but im takeing out the middle man as i can get this rope much cheaper:rotf:

I haven't been able to find any specific info about the red lens covers that are on the aftermarket chrome trunk wraparound on this '86 I picked up. I'm not sure if they were made by Barons or not, but I think they are. Any of you 1st genners have some info on where to get some new red lenses?

Annie & Al left here this morning @ about 9am,,,, should have arrived in the Oberlin area at Don's or some hotel by now,,,, I haven't heard from them,,,,, Annie's cell phone was dead when they left and the Tom Tom they were using wasn't the greatest invention. Now they has me a little concerned,,, well they are adults,, but still I'd like to know that they is OK. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi all Had the bike out yesterday (85 Venture) and having problem with the radio, FM is not working AM is OK Checked most of the postings and can’t find any info on this problem I don’t want to replace the radio but would like to try to fix it. Thanks

I am looking for a Utopia studded backrest for my 2004 Midnite Venture. I have a Utopia backrest on the bike right now in new condition but it is the plain style and doesn't match the seat. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have one they want to part with or trade for the one I have. I can send pics if you need more info.

Been looking at all the info about adding phone to to the RSV setup. What I have is an iphone 3gs and a HTC evo. I know I can get the sound from the phone to the headsets. Is there a way to get headset mic output into the phone? I was thinking about building a patch cable like this http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/05/28/diy-an-ipod-touchiphone-microphone-and-headphone-breakout-cable/ But need diagrams and info on the coms setup so I can see if this(the mic feed) is doable. I know BuddyRich makes a breakout cable for you garmin users. Anyone have any info? Basically the phone is a mp3 player and paperweight (we switched to Sprint) Thought I could use it for the GPS and music. But also my current phone uses the same style of headset. I recently purchased an F4 Customs windshield...and am EXTREMELY happy with it, except for one little (very minor) thing. I have searched the internet till I am tired...and I KNOW how to search...but still can't find the info I am looking for. OK...so here's the info I am needing. I looked at my STOCK WINDSHIELD to see how the tint strip was laid down and this is what I found out... The first layer is a FLAT BLACK layer of TAPE that is 1.25 inches wide. And on top of that and overlapping the black is another 1.25 inch of clear tape with black dots of graduated sizes (which screens the light)...just like you see on cars. I have tried to find this "tape" or "tapes" on the net and can't find it anywhere, in fact, I don't even know the terminology to use...so if you look at your stock shield, you'll see what I am talking about. Can anyone provide any info? Thanks. Wally

Does any one have a U.S.A. Nomad trailer? Thay look like a aluma trailer But cheeper! Can't find any info on them, but the add. Are thay any good? Built cheep like the price? Do thay leek, or crack ? Any info would be Good, Thanks!!

I got myself a tent trailer off Craig's earlier this week. It's a 1977 CycleCamp, and I actually got it from the original owner who has towed it all over the country on various Gold Wings. It's in decent shape and although it could use some work, it is ready to go and I got a great deal on it. I do remember CycleCamp from the early 80's, but I can't find any info on the internet on this trailer. I've already had the hitch installed for some time, I used it for mounting a large flag for Patriot Guard Missions, but I do need to do the wiring still. I'll be using it this coming weekend for an overnight camping ride up the coast to the Big Sur area. If anyone has any info on CycleCamp, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I have trailered before, but it has been a few years.

I haven't seen this one mentioned on here before. It called PRI-G Fuel Treatment. From what I read it's used mostly for marine engines. Sounds really good and it should be for costing about $1 oz. (But you treat at 1:2000.) Here a link to a marine dealer for more info if anyone is interested.

Leaving this glacier on Saturday 1-22-11 for Playa Del Carmen Mexico, an thinking about renting a motorcycle for a day, looks like all that is aviailable is the H-----s @ about 200.00 bucks for 24 hours, I am wandering if anyone here as ever rented a motorcycle in Mexico, what insurance costs might be an/or other info that may help full. 2 1/2 months already since the roads have been iced over I am ready for a ride Thanks in advance John
