  1. PRO10OH (PROgresive 10 OHio) gets you $10 tickets for the show on line. I'll be there Saturday
  2. I received this e-mail tonight from South Seattle - thought I would share. Dear valued customer: We here at South Seattle Sports Plaza, are facing a dilemma that has us torn between some directions in which we need to move to further provide you with all your motor-sports needs. First question is, do we drop our current discount to between 15 and 20 percent like all the other dealers, giving that extra profit to Google and Yahoo to stay in the top positions of their search pages? Or, do we keep our discount at 27 percent and cut our expenses on search engines and hope our customers keep spreading the word to receive the volume of business we need to support that high of a discount? On Yamaha’s last price update Oct 1st, they not only did a major price increase but they also dropped the dealers’ profit margins on thousands of items. One example is the new Star custom wheel kits. The front wheel for a Road Star, part number 5C7-f54E0-V0-00, retail is 1449.95 and dealer cost is 1087.50. Our price is 1087.46 on our website. This is like many other accessory items that have a 25% or fewer profit margin and we loose money. That is the bad news. In these times things have increasingly slowed and we are in need your business and that of your friends now and in the future. So for the good news, we are going to leave the 25% discount on accessories where it is and has been for the last couple years and increase the parts discount to 30%. We will keep these prices until February 2009 and then change the parts discount to 25% and the accessories discount to 22%. I would also like to add that right now our Star inventory is well stocked and we have a lot of items that Yamaha even has on backorder. When ordering parts, if you see something that says backorder, we still might be able to get it out of Japan or even have it in stock. If you order a backorder item and it will be awhile before available, we will contact you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Thank You, Dan McVeigh yamahasportsplaza.com ysppart.com allyamaha.com onlyyamaha.com

  7. Just a huge shout of thanks to Coveralls. They were already a gold member for their past donations to rallies but now they are not only offering two of their covers as prizes at our International Rally at the Hub but they are also offering a discount to any VentureRider member who wishes to order direct from them. See the topic area "Vendors who offer us Discounts" for details. You can see their products at their site but you must call in your order to obtain the discount. Their online system is not setup to calculate the discount. http://www.coveralls.biz/

Just give them a call and mention that you are a VentureRider member to obtain your discount. They are a great company with a great product. http://www.coveralls.biz/

  19. Just thought I would let you know that Alice and I went to Hot Springs last week and got married. We stayed at the Williams House Bed and Breakfast and she furnished our wedding arrangements. Cathy was the owner and she was a terrific hostess. We got married Aug 1 at 9 a.m. I told Cathy about the VentureRiders and she said if any of you wanted to come and stay, she would give a 10% discount on the room, Monday thru Thursday. She said she couldn't give the discount on the weekends. It is a beautiful home that was built in 1890 and it is full of antiques. We stuck our neck out, after I had talked to her on the phone, and i can honestly say, I don't think we could've picked a better place. Cathy said you might have to remind her who the Ventureriders are, since she doesn't ride bikes, and if that don't work, just mention Mike and Alice, surely she will remember us LOL!! I picked at her the whole time we were there.
  20. Starter was intermittenly making loud clanking and banging noise. I had months ago had the starter out and cleaned it out, and it was spinning as it was supposed to. Thanks to this and other forums : the answer was the clutch which turns the crankshaft. The parts were ordered from my local dealer, new clutch assy, and gaskets to do the job. Thanks again to the tech section the job went very well. My dealer San AntonioYamaha even gave me a discount on the parts because I told him I was a member of both thr VENTURERS: and THE VENTUR RIDERS forums. Here in San Antonio we are fortunate to have 2 great dealers one in town the other in Kerrville. Destinitation Cycle . I think I saved 5 hrs labor charges and the parts at a discount, Im a happy camper. Any one in the area, SOUTH TEXAS that needs help, send me a PM. I feel grateful to be part of this group. 21. This weekend finds the return of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show to the World Congress Center in Atlanta. This show is huge! All the major manufacturers will have their full line of cycles displayed and it's also a great opportunity to see an endless variety of after-market accessories as well as helmets, gloves, tires and all sorts of other gear. There's a discount available if you buy your ticket in advance online and there's also a list available of local shops that can provide you with a discount coupon, if that's easier. Janis and I have found that going early on Sunday provides the least amount of hassle and the most enjoyment, since the large crowds usually show up on Saturday and there's significantly less Atlanta traffic to contend with! http://www.motorcycleshows.com/motorcycleshows/static/staticHtml.jsp?id=359197 If you do happen to be there on Sunday, let's meet at the Yamaha display at 2PM! Terry

  23. I have no problems with either service. When you live in the country no cable available it's either satellite tv or nothing. We had direct for a few years and switched to dish to get a discount package and new equipment. Now after 3 years with dish I'm thinking about switching back to direct for new equipment and a package discount for another year. I have no problem with a 18 month contract. My real question is HD receivers and $10 a month for HD service worth it. I can upgrade to direct with a free HD receiver. I could always call dish and negotiate with them to keep my business.Rumour has it dish is asking for a rate increase in Feburary.

  25. I seem to be having issues with DGY on their discount program. Since they are a vendor who offers us discounts I had asked Don about it and he has spoken to them. They had promised to apply the discount (18%) but never did. My issue really isnt so much the discount at this point, but rather DGY's failure to acknowledge the e-mails. Their service was great and the items were received on time. I have pasted the Thank You e-mail that I received today below with my response heading up the e-mail: The following is in response to the Thank you e-mail that I received today: I have sent you 2 e-mails and called the 800 # concerning an 18% OEM parts purchase discount that was supposed to be applied to my order for being a member of VentureRider.org. To date I have not received a reply to either e-mail, nor was I successful in getting this corrected on the phone as no one at DGY would help with this issue. While the parts were received in a timely manner, as you can see from this final invoice, the discount was not applied. You are listed on our club website as a vendor who promised to give discounts on parts ordered from your company. Obviously, this is not the case and I will be posting this on our 3500 member website soon. As I had stated in my previous e-mails, I had asked that the discount be applied or if the discount program was discontinued to please let me know. This has not been done in either case. Your reply at the bottom of the invoice clearl states to feel free to contact DGY with any question that you may have. To date, my e-mails have gone unanswered. This is not a good way to do business.
