  2. Have I just now noticed the blue google chrome location map use symbol under the name display ? Or has it been there for ever ? I like it and it is very neat. You just click on it and there is the map location. Thanks Freebird.... Fuzzy
  3. It's been slow uploading pic to photobucket, but here is what I have so far. The folder has subfolders for each day so click on one and watch slideshow. Don't have the blackhills and badlands loaded yet, will update later. http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m232/kebranton/Cody%20July11/
  4. I have a friend "Chuck" that just started a charity ride to raise money for a few charities. They are going to hit 22 states in 23 day's covering about 9000 miles. If you go to the facebook page and click the like button they will get $2.00 for each like they get. If you care to, please take a look and maybe like their page. Thanks

  6. It never fails. At least for me. Murphy rears his ugly head again. Every year that we start a vacation week, something ALWAYS happens. It was bad enough that we wont be able to make MD this time again for various reasons, but....since were off anyway lets take a nice convertible top down drive along A1A at night. Great views, cool breezes and a nice restaurant in St Augustine. Get in the car and Click, click, click, click.......Battery dead. Just over 1 year old. Glad I had a 3 year free replacement warranty on it. On a Chrysler Sebring Convertible its a real big pain to swap batteries. You have to jack up and remove left front wheel and inner fender well to access the battery. Forgot to chock the rear wheels..(murphy is still lurking) Car starts to roll down the driveway as im laying under the front jacking up the floor jack. OH S***. Im holding on the jack while laying on my back, trying to turn the handle to let it back down. No such luck. Arm wants to pull out of its socket. And its still rolling downhill. I give it all I have and stop the car. Yell for the wife who is inside and cant hear me. (Murphy, you low life Ba*****!) One more hard twist on the jack handle and down it comes, finally. WHEW!! A few more inches and it would have hit a steeper part of the driveway and im sure my neighbor across the street would have wanted to know why my car is in her driveway. Now im laying on the hot concrete surface, my shoulder is throbbing, my knee is torqued wrong and its about 93 degrees out. After 10 minutes, im back up...drink 2 bottles of cold water and back at it. Remove inner front fender well to access the battery. Take it to the store for my free exchange. Had the wrong receipt. Had the one for my Trailblazer, but luckily they had purchase records in their system (Orielly auto). (wait, hes Irish too, maybe related to Murphy) After 20 minutes, I walk out with a new battery, install it, put it all back together, check with DMM and all is well again. Just a bad battery. This has happened before as well with other vacations. One year it was the water heater leaking. Still had warranty left so it was a freebie, but I still wasted a vacation day fooling with it. Another time it was the bikes battery. And so on..... Murphy has a way of popping up at the most inopportune times. Id say I hate the Irish but my wife is Irish, so....... But one thing is true...Murphy is a real #@$%#&*%$#@

  8. There is an add on Craigs list right now for a house for rent. The add lists the address, has pictures, and it is my parents house. My parents are NOT trying to rent this house. This house in this neighborhood would rent for a lot more than the CL add. The reply to email address even has my fathers name in it. This is a scam, the police have been notified but said there is not much they can do. There have been local news reports of this where someone is taking real estate listings (yes the house was just listed for sale 2 weeks ago) and using the info from that to create these for rent adds, usually the first that someone knows of it is when one or more moving vans shows up in front of their house with one or more familys expecting to move in having already paid their first and last months rent plus security deposit. Not only are these family's out the money they sent to the scammer but they have already terminated the lease where they were living. This is the ad http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/apa/2380005353.html Please go to the add and click on prohibited, then open the ad again and click spam. Hopefully with enough feedback CL will pull the ad before something bad happens. Thanks for your help on this
  9. My first ride of the year the class system was working fine, and then i had the error show up so I did the solder contacts on the class display head. Reassembled it, I could hear a click from the back when I used the class panel but compressor wouldnt run,and then got the e2 error. i really didnt know what it was but had a look at the compressor unit and found it had puked out oil everywhere over license plate etc. So i ordered a replacement compressor unit from ebay and installed yesterday, same issue, the class panel comes up normally but when i select front or back and adjust pressure i hear a solenoid click once but no compressor running and then after a minute the e2 error comes on. What am I missing, is there another componenet that is faulty? or did I get another compressor that doesnt work? Thanks in advance for any help, brian
  10. OK folks. A number of people have complained that it is sometimes hard to find the member who is selling something in the classifieds. If you clicked their username, it opened up a profile in the classifieds but not the usual member profile. So, I've done some custom programming this evening that will hopefully make it easier for everybody. If you are in the classifieds now and click on the username of the person who posted the ad, it will open up their actual forum profile instead of the pretty much useless profile in the classifieds. I also changed it so that if you click the "contact buyer" link in a classified ad, it opens up the private message screen here on the forum. I tested it and it seems to be working correctly. Sometimes though when I make a change like that, it creates some unexpected changes that show up later. Hopefully it will work as I intend and it will make things better for all. If you notice any problems with it though, please let me know.
  11. i stored my bike for the winter and it worked just fine.....tokk of the attery and stored it indoors.....didnt work when i put it back on....so i buy a new 1....fully charged and it still dont work.....not even getting a click from starter......just the 2 red lights go out when i try to start.....can any1 help me plz
  12. Hi, I am glad to have found your site. This forum looks greeat. I have a question, if I want to let other member know of the 1984 Venture I am parting out what is the best way to do that. I tried to click on the classifieds forum but it would not let me post. Do I have to be a paid member out of the trial period to do that? Thanks for the help in advance! Rick
  13. Speed Trap Maps. Information that we can all use. Speed trap map...this is pretty cool. This is for real.....in much detail. Even to the description of the Unmarked cars used for layering and ticketing in all states. Click on what ever state you want and then It will show the city or towns, click on which one you want to view. You can see them in the cities in the U.S. &/or Canada. Very interesting. I had no idea this was available to everyone. Do you know the speed-traps in your hometown? Click on the link below Http://www.speedtrap.org/

  18. When initially viewing "Active Threads From The Forums" there are 15 threads showing. In order to view the remaining 5 on the first page I have to click on "MORE". After getting a full 20 items on the first page, all of the following pages have all 20 items on them right away. I am curious about why all 20 items are not viewable right away when looking at the first page. Not a huge inconvenience, just curious. I'll bet someone has a very logical explanation. Probably the "boss".

  21. I'm just wondering if anyone has used the McCuff (and no it's not an adult toy) . It says it will allow you to fill up your tank (TOPPED OFF) with one click. I wonder if this includes the air pockets that we have in the Venture? Anyone ever used one? http://www.mccuff.com/ Wally
  22. You can now print out a list of upcoming VentureRider events. You can also search the calendar if you prefer but that is just a side benefit and probably not that useful. To use the new feature, just click on the "Search" link in the upper menu bar of the forum. Just leave the search box blank and click "GO". That will open up a new page where you can select "All Events" and then select the month or range of months that you want to display. Click Go and you'll get the list of events posted for that range. Then at the upper right, you have two buttons to choose from. One is to download it as a iCalendar file and the other a .pdf file. This was requested by one of our members about 3 months ago while I was on vacation. I promised to see what I could come up with when I got back and totally forgot about it. I apologize for taking so long.
  23. Here is a program that I had posted about before the big crash and just wanted to put it here again. Although the site now has automatic image resizing for profile pics, avatars, and images posted in the threads, it is NOT a fool proof system. If your images are HUGE...there could be time out problems before the pic is resized. Also, auto resizing does not work in the vBPicGallery at this time. There are many programs out there for resizing images but if you use Windows XP...there are NONE easier than the one at the following link. Once you install this little program, all you have to do is open the folder where your pictures are saved, right click on the file name and choose "resize" from the context menu. A box will open up with options. The default option is 640 x 480 and that is the one you want to use. Just click "OK" and it will save your picture at the proper size and resolution to upload. It will NOT write over your original picture...it will save it as a new picture with the same file name except "small" at the end. This program will not create a new icon on your desktop or anywhere else...it will simply create a new link in the right click context menu. This is the ONLY thing I use now for resizing pictures. It is simple and very effective. So...just click on the following link. Scroll down until you see "Image Resizer" in the right menu, download and install. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/xp-downloads#2TC=powertoys
  24. This very large HD dealer is calling it quits. Carolina Harley-Davidson owner Diane Baldwin kept the motor running at her dealership even after the tragic death of her husband Click Baldwin in a motorcycle accident two years ago in Montana. But on Oct. 15, she will close the business that she and Click started in Gastonia 22 years ago because she’s come to the realization that “without Click, there is no Carolina Harley-Davidson,” said Jodi Sandate, a friend and spokeswoman for the dealership at 2830 E. Franklin Blvd. Diane Baldwin and Harley-Davidson Motor Co. entered a mutual agreement Tuesday to retire one of the largest dealerships on the East Coast along with the Carolina Harley-Davidson Museum. Diane Baldwin could not be reached for comment Tuesday. “Ultimately this was Click’s passion and Click’s dream and Click is no longer with us,” Sandate said. “When she (Diane) walks in that dealership, everything she sees is her late husband. All she sees are memories. This is hard for her.” Click Baldwin died in July 2008 after his 2009 Harley-Davidson struck a 1999 Honda Civic on U.S. 12 outside Lolo, Mont., and he was thrown from his motorcycle. A tremendous memorial followed his death with hundreds of riders escorting his casket and tributes from celebrities like NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. The loss of Click Baldwin was a personal and professional loss. In addition to her grief, Diane Baldwin also had to struggle with the collapse of the U.S. economy, Sandate said. A savvy businesswoman, she explored other options for the business, but eventually decided to retire, Sandate said. “It’s too much for one person,” Sandate said. “Her partner died — in more ways than one.” The Baldwins first opened the dealership in downtown Gastonia in 1988 with five employees. Over the years, the business grew, moving to a location on Remount Road and then to the 70,000-square-foot building near Franklin Square. During more prosperous economic times, the dealership employed 75. Today, there are 33 employees. On Saturday, Diane Baldwin met privately with her management and then announced her decision to employees, who comforted her and told her, “We are with you until the end,” Sandate said. Several of the staff members were working there when Click died. They supported Diane through his death and they will continue to support her through this transition also, she said. Sandate said Diane Baldwin plans to speak with her customers and the community Aug. 27 and 28 at the Eighth Annual Bikes, Boogie & BBQ , which will be the dealership’s final event celebration. After that, her immediate plans will focus on selling the building and sorting through “Click’s toys.” The dealership is also a museum full of motorcycle memorabilia and vintage motorcycles, including a 1914 Harley-Davidson Model 10-B, known as the “Silent Gray Fellow".
